I keep saying - you and Ewan need to get at it again...get on that new 1300GS and do a DOWN UNDER adventure....great stuff as usual - keep them coming Charlie!!!!
Very refreshing to see these panniers made in a factory in in Germany. Cut bent welded assembled not just assembled. Big thumbs up on that in these global manufacturing times. Would have been so easy to get these made and shipped in from far off lands cheaply and still sell at the same price
Good to see all this engineered and made in Germany. I love my old vario cases for both long distance traveling as well as local commuting/grocery hauling. It's nice to see this high quality company taking on the continuation of the vario line for the next generation of GS bikes.
A lot of people hate on Touratech especially in the US where the prices are a bit higher, but the company has singlehandedly done more adventure riding than almost any other equipment manufacturer.
Crikey 20 yrs nearly! Seems like only a couple since I sat down with my mate and watched Long Way Around' & decided the GSA was the way for us, and never looked back, so thank you Charley. I'm excited to see what the 1300 Adventure looks like next year. we're ff over to Germany next July, for our first bike trip since covid, I think I might add this shop to our itinerary. Great look at an iconic company for us adventure riders. and always a pleasure to wach something with Charley in it. 👏👍👌🤘✌🖖🤙🍻
Why is it that when I see your videos, they always seem so close and familiar, yes I had the Touratech catalog, and yes I did look at that in the bathroom...
So delightfull to see you Charlie. Obviously read yo0ur books saw your movies and in o3-o4-05 with a little Gs started adventuring in Nort America. Quickly moved to a 1200 Gs. and toured all of America often two up coast to coast most years. Still can't wheelie like Boorman does. Stopped r iding 7 years a go after hitting a dear at 100KmH at 63. Now at 70 returning. Decided I'm no lomger afraid to die...but afraid of not living . Cheers and thank you for the inspiration
I was there in 2019 after my visit at the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Bought a new saddle - tested 3 of them - and I also bought a rainjacket . Did you eat at their restarant Charley ? They really serve good food. The woman who helped me there at Touratech was Ines Ruhl , she was fantastic 🤝
i use the Zega pro on my GS here in California. Touratech is hi dollar stuff, but also the highest quality. Im glad they already got the parts coming out on the 1300GS, i cannot wait to get this bike.
Also hope that Ewan and you will get back on the bike together and let us enjoy a new adventure. Despite the fact that it has been a while, they remain unforgettable stories that you have shown us.
Great look around the Touratech factory. I bought a Touratech engine protection plate for my Triumph Tiger 900 after looking around and nothing else comes close for protection, quality, fit and styling. Touratech are not expensive as you are paying for the best.
Nice one Charlie, they never made anything purposely for my '93 Tiger but I have been able to 'adapt' quite a few things from TT for it. It's not quite finished but hope to get the TÜV approval soon. It's just fantastic gear allround. Glad to see you back working wth Touratech and enjoying the ACT series.
When I see you walking about I see a world of injuries. I hope your coping well. Fascinating place! Maybe it’s time for a Long Way series where you and EMcG can pass the baton to a new generation, keeping as much of a part as you want/can give? Keep on trundling fella, you’re an inspiration 👍
Been using Touratech panniers and accessories 16 years or so. Expensive but worth it in my opinion. I dropped my KTM in Peru doing 60 mph and slid a long ways on my Zega Pro panniers. I replaced the plastic corner and it was good as new.
I recall seeing long way round with my Dad and Brothers when I was 6 years old, Thank you for sharing your passion and please we want to see more! Cheers
Thats a brilliant idea @lifesjourneyat50 , Charlie and Owen doing a circular tour of Oz, now that would be a show worth watching. Come on guys and Charlie, get it done.
Hi Charley, Unless I have missed a vlog you don't seem to have paid a visit or even mentioned your good friends at Ystradgynlais, Wales, I met you in the old Touratech shop in Ystradgynlais South Wales just before riding up on to Walters Arena,..Why don't you call over for a brew with your old friend and Legendary Paris-Dakar Winner Nick Plumb, I had a Quick chat with Nick last weekend, poor guy needs his spirit lifting, I doubt that he would want me to say this but he could certainly do with a little boost on your channel towards his struggling business, your time would not be wasted, perhaps you Nick and Simon could arrange a day in the dirt sometime before Christmas,..Hey Ho! ... Good to hear that Touratech HQ are looking after their employees in Germany. OAP Wales UK.
I have a signed poster from Both Charlie and Ewin for LWR has it been 20 years. Will they get the 1300 GS or the Pan American This time I hope they get the support team to just get a motor home
In Germany we we refer to them as Teuertech, meaning expensive tech. They are a pharmacy. Touratech filed for bankrupcy in 2017 and were taken over in 2018.
The equivalent of Hamleys toy store for the young at heart. The site has changed from 20 years ago. Not mentioned by Charley is that having spent much time in the throne room deciding on various absolute bike essentials, you can book a slot at the factory and they will fit them to your bike. The staff are great and all speak excellent English including the staff in the cafe. Just a shame the pound has lost value and U.K. insurance on a new bike is eye watering these days.
Hello, I ordered the throphy version, with double rear silencer. Is the ZEGA Evo aluminium pannier system matching with this silencer? Greetings from North Germany.
I used to live like 100m from this factory..and as a rtw rider, I thought to go here first to get all of my gear... But they were absolute snobs. So I ended up shipping my stuff in from all over the place. A shame really.
Charley, you are a Legend and I love you for the trips you have made and for your cool attitude BUT the guys who hired you for that video should have prepared you far better. Feel sorry for you mate.....
As such as its great tech its useless serious off roading. Imagine the cost of alight drop when the box is broken and central locking fooked! Bikes need to get back to basics and just make basic better as needed. Most of these just cruise the Kings Road and never see a spot of mud
Too bad their customer support is useless when it comes to dealing with items shared with vehicle manufacturers as oem. All I wanted was a lock/key for my KTM zega case and touratech was useless and ktm halfway useless. Touratech won't even try to help with information, just a "go ask KTM" when I asked if the standard zega lock/key will fit my 790/890 KTM zega top case.
Tourtech is soft aluminum garbage with cheap Chinese screws, Expect more expensive service times as mechanics have to battle with the crappy front/ rear brake reservoir “ protectors”
I keep saying - you and Ewan need to get at it again...get on that new 1300GS and do a DOWN UNDER adventure....great stuff as usual - keep them coming Charlie!!!!
Yeah agree. Long Way Home. Hobart to London.
I think 1200 and above are overkill. they should do it on middleweights next
Yes the t7 world raids 😊
Charlie has a Down Under bike tour beginning in November - google it to get details
💯
Cant believe its 20 years loved that show Charlie 🤘

Always feel Charley brings relevance to the products he supports. I’ve been a fan of Touratech quality and selection for my BMW’s over the years.
Excellent video! The production value was spot on! I was impressed with how Tidy and well done the whole Touratech facility is. Keep em coming!

Thanks for the hint about weather protection. Helpful video. Thanks sharing.

Touratech just a fantastic company with excellent products

Take care.

Nice one Charley the new products look awesome.
Don’t forget you help grow touratech. And BMW sales more than any staff member 👏
I love your passion for all things motorcycle. You inspired me since 2004 when first watching LWR. Thank you and keep those videos coming.
So delightfull to see you Charlie.

20 years ago dam i am getting old
Make the most of each day … for many of us we only have a thousand or so weekends left!
I was there in 2019 after my visit at the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

I was lucky enough to meet Charley once !
A “good egg”.
Best wishes
Thanks for the tour, Charley. Those new panniers look really cool.
LOL, you guys must have filmed this before the official launch, as Mr Cameraman was being very circumspect about not showing the 1300 ;-)
Great video! I love these factory videos. You see what goes on behind the products . Best!
Also hope that Ewan and you will get back on the bike together and let us enjoy a new adventure.
Despite the fact that it has been a while, they remain unforgettable stories that you have shown us.

It’s time for Long Way Down Under, we’re waiting!
I worked at Touratech many years ago based in Leyland England . We worked on seamless gear boxes for the F1 teams . Great company .
It’s impressive they still manufacture everything in house.
I recall seeing long way round with my Dad and Brothers when I was 6 years old, Thank you for sharing your passion and please we want to see more! Cheers
Shit that makes me feel old. Ha ha glad you enjoyed watching them with your dad.
@@Charley.Boorman 20+ years of inspiration for adventure! What Can I say, legends age differently 🤙 jaja

This is great. Get a GS and prepare for the next Adventure Charlie💪
Would love to see you two back on tour 😂
They do great, high quality parts for the Harley Pan America too.
Another great video and what great products. 1300 GS review? Cheers
Long way back around for the 20 year anniversary!!
Great video master 👍👍greetings!
Charley and Ewan. Do it again!!!
I have a signed poster from Both Charlie and Ewin for LWR has it been 20 years. Will they get the 1300 GS or the Pan American

maybe do some prep work and have some interesting questions to ask them next time instead of bumbling around... just saying
Hey Charlie its Les the pannier pounder from Calgary cheers

You need to do a Long Way Down Under/Asia with the new GS1300!
Hello,
I ordered the throphy version, with double rear silencer.
Is the ZEGA Evo aluminium pannier system matching with this silencer?
Greetings from North Germany.
I'll take the old school panniers over the new stuff.
I like the panniers, but can a twenty stone bloke sit on them at a campsite. Like the thought of not having to take a chair.
13 minutes in and 3 adverts , Charlie likes his subs
What a tease with the 1300GS!
I understand that you have to pay for a comfort, but $700+tax for the Tenere 700 seat? How is it legal?
They do have great products. Just wish they was a little cheaper.
I love that stuff, only I can’t afford it
I was just looking at their garmin mount before I saw this video.
You are looking pretty mature now Charlie.
Aluminium panniers looks sexy but the fact is that they are not practical at all.
Everything changed, owner of company to.
Charly, tell as some words about.
I used to live like 100m from this factory..and as a rtw rider, I thought to go here first to get all of my gear... But they were absolute snobs. So I ended up shipping my stuff in from all over the place. A shame really.
There's a stop on this luggage,2 years development obviously not enough!
Biker Porn.... you're a legend Charley 😁
interesting

Itchy Boots has accomplished the Duel Sports technique on Her own far exceeding the poor supported attempt that you and your Team tried to achieve.
Note to our American friends: Nobody in there wears safety glasses...
Hahaha the ultimate place to pay too much for rebranded ADV gear.
I wonder if the RnD guy is single ....
Probably going out with one of those chunky assembly line ladies
