Two things. The water pump guard lower mounting point, that bolt is the one that needs to be removed and replaced with the 75mm x 8mm black bolt and spacer. The 6mm just holding on the bracket is not big enough for the duty of impacts on the water pump guard. The 6mm screws go into a silver 75mm long bolts with a thread head to accept the 6mm x 10mm long black screw holding on the small bracket, remove the bolt with pliers (skid plate needs to be removed to access it properly).
Second, locktite is applied then threads are tightened, the locktite dries in place. Do not let it dry before tightening.

Thanks for that, I actually received those parts yesterday as they were missing from my kit. The box had a massive hole in it, and DHL had tried to patch it, obviously parts fell out. With the loctite though, as you are only applying torgue to one side of the bolt, the other side should be dry to allow for the groove to stay in the correct place, otherwise you are over threading the left side. Hense why you use 601_609 loctite as it requires more than 50nm to break it. But yes a little update video on the proper part for the waterpump will come out soon. 👍

Can you make a video speaking to these 2 things/instructions you wrote, please? I’m getting ready to do this exact same project but I am a visual learner and I’m not really sure what to do just by reading this. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the vid, didn’t get the instructions with the kit so I will use your walk-thru (except breaking any tools) 😅
Did you mount the Performance Aux. lights as well at some point ?

My bike already has the Ducati crash bars, I’m going to upgrade the stock sump guard to the one you’ve installed here, would I have to completely remove the crash bars to install it?

Yeah they will have to come off, as the sump guard has different bolts to go through the engine so you can bolt the sump guard to it. If you have a look the bolts will look like a standard head. They need to have a threaded hole through them. They come in the kit for the sump guard.

Hi, great info, I bought my chrash bar kit second hand and it is missing these special bolts for the sump guard. Do you know if I can order them online, or even buy them at a local hardware store? Do you have a picture of them ?

@olafthorolafsson838 do you have the spacers and just missing the bolts? Or need the lot?

@olafthorolafsson838 The spacers you will probably have to get from Ducati, but they are standard metric bolts, ive changed mine to allen head as the OEM ones are too soft and will only last a couple of times on and off.
