Many months ago, I came across this song, Minuet in G Major. I was fascinated by its elegance and beauty. It was as if God himself was speaking to my soul. When I closed my eyes, I had a vision of SM64 objects appearing in a choreographed fashion. And so now, many months later, I’ve finally made my vision a reality. Enjoy! (So yeah, sometimes I’ll be interspersing artistic music videos into my uploads.)

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!
To me, this piece has always stood for childhood because it is mostly light-hearted while also having a hint of pensiveness. The way you combined this age-old childhood music with our childhood game was deeply touching. Like a reminder of what my childhood (hopefully) was like. But then there is also such a beautiful personal touch in the way you specify 'objects', once again showing that you not only play the game, you play WITH the game. And this, as fun and deeply technical as it is, is very very meaningful to me. I know it sounds melodramatic, but this legit made me cry.
A thousdand times thank you, pannenkoek, for all that you do for this community. This is invaluable work!

In the beginning, Pannenkoek created the SM and the 64. The levels were without form and void, and darkness was over the object models of the world. And the Spirit of Pannenkoek was hovering over the face of the surface triangles.
Then Pannenkoek said, "Let there be objects," and there were objects. And Pannenkoek saw that the objects were good. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Makes you really think about how bare bones these early 3D worlds used to be. Anything that couldn’t be made a flat texture was just an occasional pyramid or cube.

Not to be a music nerd but I’m studying to be a music teacher and this is unironically a really cool study of rhythm. Students’ understanding of music benefits so much from seeing alternative depictions of rhythm outside of traditional notation. This would be so cool to show a student learning Minuet in G (almost every piano student learns this) that is also into gaming

It's honestly really cool and really fascinating how every object in a given area can be matched to a piano key, without going over or under exactly how many are needed for any given shot. I mean, yes, you doctored the shots to fit a little bit, but the fact that the number of objects in the game could be fit to the keystrokes in this piece of music is just…kind of breathtaking. Cool stuff!

There are also several instances where more than one object pops in on a single note, with one example being 8:29 where all eight coins in a coin ring (as well as the associated red coin) pop in all at once. You also have instances like 1:45, where different numbers of trees pop in on each note.

@@InfoManiac742 Ah…I will concede that I didn't pay the closest attention through the whole video; however, the fact that clusters of a designated type of object can all be spawned in at once (rather than in chunks, i.e. two or three coins in a group appearing at a time) is still kind of impressive. And there ARE scenes where the keys fit perfectly cleanly to all the objects that spawn, which is just incredible.

It's soothing seeing the enemies and blocks and whatnot appear. We're so familiar with how the stages are built, it's nice seeing the extra bits pop in to complete the scene.
