there's a video that doesn't outright deny the solar flare/Tick Tock Clock M64 platform clip but points out it's incredibly unlikely and probably caused by something else. There are speedrunners who use hot plates, kick and tilt games, and do other insane things though.
Speedrunning is so great because where else is Luigi burning his bottom as he's flung through the void of space at an incresing velocity both celebrated and the optimal thing to do
The speedrunner in 3:15 is a well known prodigy here in Spain🇪🇸! He is known by everyone here because he once went to a TV Program and won 4 Million dollars. He plays the violin, he speedruns and he studies so hard! We all love him.😂❤
I'd like to mention that for the FF2 skip in doing the gravity shenanigans, MarioFan and Dendonodon played huge roles. MarioFan showed that with the correct lava boost, it was possible to go to the FF2 planet from the race area, and Dendonodon proved that it was possible to go to the ending area of FF2, which saved several seconds already. I only came up with the fast version of the skip, in which you bounce of the ice panels, which saved around 15 more seconds. Also, for the Dreadnought skip at 3:07, it was PurpleSun who came up with the Goombeetle-less setup, which saved a few more seconds.
I honestly find it very interesting/inspiring. One single video about something very weird that can happen in a beloved video game. It's very well presented, follows the "documentary meta". And it works fantastic; the title is crafted in such a way that the viewer knows vaguely, but also doesn't know exactly what the video is about before watching, and they're like "wait what, what is he talking about". And yet all you do is to present something that you're passionate about, without thinking "it has to be good, else my viewers won't be interested anymore".
