I use spray on contact Cement. It gives you a little bit of working time to get the piece positioned. When fully assembled, I place something heavy on top of it for an hour or so.
Thank you for the video! I'm learning, and watching many videos. A laser purchase is only weeks away. I had not seen a video discussing the double-sided tape for the mandala art. Thanks!
I am thinking of starting a laser art hobby business from home. Question is how do you protect the laser machine from the winter cold when not working in the garage?
It’s super fun. The P2 and P2S come with antifreeze to add to the laser tube so it’s a non-issue. The diode machines like the S1 or F Series don’t need it as there’s no liquid.
separate the layers in what way? When you purchase the files the layers are separated. If you make them your self, you make them each as individual layers.
Thanks for the video! Great tip about the double sided tape! I am just about starting and was planning to use some wood glue but tape seems much better idea for larger projects. I am confused about the inability of diode lasers to cut acrylic sheets. I just got the printer from creality (diode 22w) and it has specifications for cutting and engraving acrylic sheets. So it possible on diodes? Thanks!
Diode machines can definitely cut acrylic, they’re just usually limited on the color options. Clear, glittery, and some colors don’t work. So definitely test out before buying a bunch of a particular color. Loads of variables and some tricks though.
blue light diod lasers run on the visible spectrum. they work because opaque items absorb the frequency of the blue light. glass, clear or non opaque acrylics let the light pass through or dont absorb enough for it to work well. Thats why they have etching sprays (like for glass, but wont cut super deep into glass)
wow, some great designs. Love the sticky -adhesive paper. I been using the 8 x 11 sheets. Super job again Nick. Thanks for all the cool ideas, I just gotta find the time to make them. 😀
Great work! I use gorilla Wood Glue and a fine small brush, works wonders...for the top laye which is normally the thinist, did you use acrylic? The wood breaks easy on the layer. I was curious because you took the tape off and didnt break?
Do you get orders from postings these stuffs on social media and youtube? I am newbie thinking to get into this as a side hustle, finding the niche is main step where i am not sure
I made a 12x19 peg board with my laser. I cut down bamboo skewers for the pegs, so I sized my holes for them. I spaced them pretty close together, there's probably somewhere between 1500-2000 holes (I didn't count lol, just kept filling up the space). Place the bottom layer on the board, and the outline it with as many pegs as can get to hit right at the edges all around, the tighter the better. After that, you slide each layer down into the peg outline and down onto the previous layer. Since I started doing that, lining up the edges has become a breeze! I hope I explained that well, a picture would definitely help lol.
@swishair thanks, I was too!! I also take a black marker to the edges of the lower layers, so if it still isn't perfect, you can't tell just by looking at it, since any peeking out will blend in with the burnt outside edges
A true artest is being put out of work because some talents hack who knows how to use a computer and laser printer. This will most liky be taken down because its the truth

My biggest takeaway from this video - sticky sheets. I use it for my mold-making process, didn't think of using it for laser. Thanks!
Creative Fabrica is a great place for laser files
Lots of great information, you make it so approachable!
Thank you so much! That’s really my goal. Appreciate the feedback.

Great video. I'm interested in how to separate the layers in LightBurn or something like that. Thanks.
Amazing! May I ask how you hang them though?
What is that little sander you are using?
Can't diode laser cut and engrave acrylic ?
question can this method be used for portrait's if so could you do a vid for it
I"m thinking spray adhesives. There are different grades, but I have not done this before so I fee that there is something I'm missing.

Any tutorial's on how to create the file using Photoshop?

Yeah, acrylic is solid. A great option for the thin top layers.
I love this
Где можно посмотреть все эти изделия???

How do separate the layers in the design process?
Can you share the link for where you got your mandala designs, in particular the eagle? Thanks! Great video.
Did you get it ?
Great video, just wondering, whilst I realise this is all XTool based, do you think that this would also be possible with a Creality Falcon2?
How can i design my own art ?
I am not a designer but i would like to know if its possible?
perfect video thank you !
Web link please
Thank you!
Great information..
I just have a quick question about the double sided tape..
Does this add a large cost to your build?
Thanks..
It can with larger projects or loads of layers. For me it’s worth it to get a perfect look.
@@SixEightWoodworks Thank you Sir!
I use super glue. Takes only a second to add a bead around each edge and irs cheap!
Getting layers to line up is very difficult. Any tips?
The double sided adhesive sheets really help. You have a little play to adjust sections that aren’t in alignment. With glue, it’s there or it’s not:
@@SixEightWoodworks I will try. I have been using Tight Bond wood glue. I will try the 3M. Thank you for the great content.

Where'd you get the eagle design?
Etsy
Love it
Thank you
So essentially Intarsia, but with acrylic.
wunnerful

its very time consuming to do so its have sense if you have 2-3 low paid workers , or nothing will pay you good money
