I cant believe this works!!!! I have the same xtool 20w (used same 17%@125mm/s) and I've been looking for new things to try. I've not been able to stop painting and trying this process. Thank you thank you thank you for making this video!!!!!!
How do you get so much done? Do you have help? Do you not sleep? Your production is amazing. Excellent quality, everything you want in a laser business. I can't produce 1/10th the amount of finished goods that you can.
I've now made a few attempts with different colors, different numbers of layers of paint and different images, but unfortunately the colors never come out properly, or only come out so weakly. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong :( Do you have any other tips? It's such a great way to use the laser, I love it
You have hiven a very good explanation here on how the images can be done.. and its nice to see you used my Facebook images as examples for the 20w settings👍
Wow, thanks for the video, these are so fantastic. I am awaiting on my replacement M1 from Xtool which is taking forever, however I will definitely give this a shot when and if it finally arrives. Just watching this video has given me so many ideas with the paint. Thinking white small bread and butter plates with a flat centre, you could do so much on those, they could be sold as collectlibles. So just doing one offs. Even mugs, cups, or tumblers and the list goes on. This technique will definitely expand my variety of items and methods of art work on my peices.
Is it possible to vent projects done on the F-1 Ultra without spending $700? ...gulp... An inline fan/duct maybe? I LOVE your videos & ALL the projects you share with those of us who have creative minds and just need to know all the ways we can make them come to life! Thanks SO much!
Once you got your power/speed and other settings down, will that work for any design or have you found out that the settings need to change depending on what design you are using? By the way I love what you are doing.
Question: I painted a canvas gold, blue, and black (top) using a 10w S1 system. I used 20% power with 125 speed. I'm getting white only against the black and not seeing the colors underneath. The white that I'm seeing is that the canvas, OR is the laser only grading the black to 'white.'
Thanks. The 20W is surprisingly powerful! Can handle all I want for a diode. If you end up wanting more than 20w on a diode, I’d save up for the P2 and get CO2.
Very cool! A couple of question please… my F1 Ultra is to arrive tomorrow (and of course I will be out of town) but have you tried this technique with the Ultra? I have the D1 10w but haven’t used it in a long time. I would assume it would work with it as well correct?
I have never given this a thought. I do a lot of acrylic pouring art on canvas. Will this work with a 60 watt CO2 laser? I guess need very low power or high speed. I have done this on ceramic tile.
The xToolS1 looks small, but the canvas you hold up looks a decent size, can you advise as to the max size it(S1)can handle, and what sort of prices you are getting from the pictures you sell, thank You.
At 12:27 you can see some S1 40W settings and then on my test files you can pause and see some of the settings I tried. Definitely had to play around with test files for 40W more than the 20W.
How significant are the differences in your results using the 20W module vs the 40W? I know the 20W has a smaller dot size and a square dot vs the rectangular dot of the 40W, but I wonder to what extent this impacts the level of achievable detail in the real world. I have the 40W module, but no 20W to compare.
Would a 10W take forever? This is a great video but wondering if I should get the 20W if all I need is to engrave while I work on other woodworking projects. Would 10W be sufficient enough for what you just did?
Great question. Just tried it on the 10 watt. Takes longer, but totally works For most of the laser projects on my channel, outside of specialized acrylics, the 20watt is perfect for everything.
@@SixEightWoodworks I appreciate the quick response, you got a sub. I'm looking into expanding my woodworking projects and I feel like laser engraving could be a nice addition to my cash flow. Of course now I see the M1 Ultra review 😂
@@SixEightWoodworks What settings did you use for the 10W test? I'm waiting for my xTool F1 to come next week. 10W Blue Laser, 2W IR. Can or should you engrave canvas with IR? *Thz in advance!*
I’ve done a few pet portraits in B&W still messing around with multi colored. All made in 30W and 80W c02. I bet a diode would be best for this type of work, no?

I'm so glad this question was asked. I, too, want to know his superpowers😂
Thanks so much for your help and share. I appreciate you!
I have a 60w CO2. Need settings ASAP! Great video.....
This one of my favorite uses of the laser! I love taking AI images and doing canvas! Currently working on a set of pirate themed pieces
What a great use of my useless Fox Alien 20W :) Can't wait to try this!
Love this! Thank you!!

Great video and amazing product, do these sell well?
Thanks for sharing - beautiful work. I’m waiting to get settled in my new house so I can get my S1

AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for sharing! You Are a Craftsman... a very good one
Hi. Great video and super nice work. Do you use air assist on or off. Congrats again.
Awesome tips - thanks for the great videos and information!
Very cool results!
Just found this channel. Love it. i have never tried this but want to. Any suggestions on settings for the 40 WT Thank you
watch the video, at 12 to 13 minutes he shows lion test files, you can see settings for 40w there 7 to 12 power 75 to 250 speed ect

Does it only work with an X tool? I have a we creat machine
Would this work on stainless steel, aluminum plates, wood? Awesome video.

Great video!! In your opinion is the S1 20W substantial enough for a side hustle or would you recommend jumping to the 40w?

My jaw is on the floor amazing 😮
Great video! What spray paint did you use?
man I love that trout print...how did you layer that paint?

I have the F1 Ultra coming. Wondering if I can pull this off with mine. Love these. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely! It’s got the 20w Diode option which should be pretty similar to the settings I had for the 20W S1.
@@SixEightWoodworkswhen I get far enough along and try it, I’ll post my results. Seems it would work to paint layers on metal business cards also.
Very nice , I have a Xtool P2. CO2 laser . Does it work on this project?
Question ⁉️
Does this method work with other materials as well?
Noticed all your Seattle teams, are you in Seattle area and have a shop?

Amazing video!!!
Just sub because of this video tutorial
Awesome !!
I wonder if this same method would work on wood vs canvas. It seems like it would.
Amazing !!
So much fun!
I have a question for you... Do you think this paint process will work on wood similar to canvas?
Do you think it would work ok with a 5w laser?
What poker chips do you recommend for a diode laser? Thanks
where do you get those blocks from?

Huh wonder if this could work on t shirts with t shirt paints
how do you get the larger canvas to stay completely flat? Do you put a block under it to hold the canvas up in the middle?

I feel like diode and smaller wattage is best for this level of detail. But loads more experimenting to do.
How long does it take if I’m using a d1 pro 20w just wondering if anyone knew
Can I do it with my x1 d1 pro 10 w
Absolutely!
Can you do this on a D1 pro?
Yes
