  • How to use a digital oven thermometer is what today's video is about.
Earlier on in my baking days, I purchased a fabricated Nigerian oven and that's what I use for baking cakes. I had a major challenge with burnt cakes until I bought an oven thermometer and started using it to get the right temperature for my cakes.
So, I would be teaching you how to read and use one.

-it took like 2 hours in the oven and still not done
    -it looks densed
    -it got burnt
-the middle was not leveled with the rest of the cake
I was so not happy, I had to move it to my previous way of baking

Please after the thermometer reaches it’s required temperature, do u turn the oven off before baking?

    • @OluchiImoh
      @OluchiImoh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Ah, no Gift. If you turn it off, how will your Cake bake? When it gets to the required temperature, put your Cake in the oven and allow it bake for the required duration.

@@missphoi6661 No, to the best of my knowledge, it doesn't except there is a fault with the oven calibration.

I tried this today and after getting the desired temperature (170 degree celsius) I loaded my cake batter but noticed the temperature moved further to about 200 celsius after some minutes and continued to 210
    What could have gone wrong?
My gas oven heat knob was set to max.

    • @OluchiImoh

Hello Antonia, I can't say what could have gone wrong. Sounds like it's your built-in oven at home, am I correct?
If it is, just set it to 170°C if that's what you bake with and set the timer and that's all. If fabricated, then don't set to max and see what will happen. If your Cakes are getting burnt, then you might need to call a technician.
I hope it's sorted as soon as possible.
      All the best.
