What's the importance of steam bath in baking?
Most times, we are advised to preheat the oven before baking, how do we handle the temperature if it's higher than 350F before baking?
I look forward to the next video. God bless you, ma'am!
It's my pleasure, thanks for watching Olufunke!
It helps with moistness for your cakes.
Yes, always even. You need to preheat it to the required 350°F (or temperature) for baking.
@@OluchiImoh Alright ma'am. Thank you.
Wow thanks for sharing ma. Pls can I bake my red velvet cake @ 350F?
To avoid having brown patches at the bottom of the cake?
You're most welcome Susan.
Yes, you can but I must mention it's important to understand your oven and use an oven thermometer to know what works best for you.
Can we also have a video of comparing an industrial and a local oven🥺🙏 I wantu gt one next week end.
PS: m a beginner
Wish I could but I don't have an experience with industrial. You know what, I'd do my research and see what I can come up with.
Oh a Beginner? Welcome, welcome and welcome to the baking industry!
Best wishes.
Heard about my Fireside chat event? It would benefit you.
Thank so much ma for this educating video.l have an oven temperature but dont know how to use it. Ma,u know the thermometer has 2 number line,am i dealing with the top bold numbers or the inner numbers?
Hello Funmi.

Hi ma'am. Can we have a video of freezing cakes . How long it can last in the fridge. Would it change the taste. Can u freeze iced or fondant cakes
Would try and see if I can make that happen Courage. Thanks for your suggestion! For the latter part of your question,, I already addressed it here.
th-cam.com/video/9Sp0pzAIivM/w-d-xo.html
Most people say 180 but i found it so hot for my cakes... i now use 170 and it's fair
Thank you so much for your selflessness and willingness to help... Blessings
Thanks a lot Patricia! I also use 170 and I've found that to be my sweet spot.
It's my pleasure, thanks for your support and for watching!
Blessings.
Sorry pls do you mean 170F or 170°c?
@@adebogataiwo6546 i think it is in celsius . 170F is way too low
Can we also have a video on using complex molds or molds in general 🙏
Okay. Noted.
I really enjoyed your video...
But please after putting ur cake into the oven when ur thermometer reads 350....how will u regulate the light so it won't go beyond that
Thank you Mariam!
With the way, the oven is configured, it won't except there is a fault and we would all be having burnt cakes.
This is very helpful, thank you so much!
Also I'd like to know how many minutes it takes to bake a cake at 350⁰
Happy to know you found it so Faith.
There's no fixed duration as this depends on a number of factors but baking time ranges from 30 minutes (for some people) to an hour.
To what degree will I preheat the oven and I want it very golden brown ,will it be heat from the bottom or both top and bottom,an also to what temperature should I tune it even though my instruction manual says 150°C
You know what, just Google your oven guide, check if you can find it. It would show you exactly what to do and temperature to use cause I am facing same issues with my oven right now and that's what I realized would help.
Thanks so much
Is this temp applicable to a toaster oven and also the heating applicable range for my cake should be heating from the bottom right
Sorry, I don't have an idea about toaster oven. Depends on what you have at the moment. My former oven heats from the bottom while the one I have now heats from the top.
@@OluchiImoh if you try to put both up and down heat what will happen
I have a new oven. I just purchase a oven thermometer. If I want to bake a turkey, do I set the oven of the degrees of my turkey and then put my oven thermometer in the oven?
Hello Brenda, I believe using the thermometer works same way, so put in the thermometer first and pre-heat your oven to the required temperature.
This is very enlightening. Thanks so much. Sending hugs and lots of kisses.
My oven has no number inscription but has minimum and maximum inscription. Please how can I get it write when baking cake with it
Thanks for your beautiful feedback Hannatu! It's my pleasure.
Thanks!🤗🤗🥰
This would help, I just uploaded a new video on how to use an oven thermometer.
I use thermacool gas oven.
There's no degree on it but rather time,so am a bit confused.
So how many minutes will I heat it up.
Thanks for your explanation
You're welcome.
Depending on the effectiveness, size and all, 5 - 10 minutes should be a safe range.
Thanks,it has four burners and one hot plate.
No degree setting.
If I want to bake ,should I put the cake at middle , upper or at the bottom, and at what minute will I set it.
@@lovelynngobe9016 I can't advise specifically as I don't know how your oven works. You'd need to test out and see what position would give an even baking. The minutes depends on how long the recipe calls for and this varies for different recipes.
Ok so my friend is baker. She bakes her cake at a 150 for 30 minutes. What will it be for an electric oven
Hello Jackie, from my experience lately, it varies from recipe to recipe and from one oven to another. So, I'm not sure I can give a specific temperature, however 150° (if C) is a safe one to bake her cakes. She can use the fan function for even heat distribution.
It's like you made this video for me...i recently bought a new oven and I'm having a really hard time with the temperature, my cakes rise really well then sink on the middle leaving a big hole on the cake and not baked through.
So sorry about that Lucy.
Do you have an oven thermometer? If you don't, please get one. I have another video coming up on how to use it.
What about if am using local oven how do I know the right temperature?
You need to use an oven thermometer.
The lowest calibration in my oven is 200° Celsius . I always end up having burnt or sunken cakes.
What can I do ma’am?
Hello Adaugo! You'd need to have it fixed as that's high for baking looking at it from a Cake baking standpoint if I may say. Please get a technician to check it out for you, okay?
Thank you for this explanatory video, but is there a position to place the thermometer to get accurate reading. Because most times I raise my gas very high and yet the temperature doesn't get to 350 degree and yet my cakes comes so damp like it baked with high heat. Please help
Sorry about that, would suggest you get the oven checked and serviced. Sounds like it's not heating up well.
The oven thermometer should work just fine placed on any rack inside it.
what about one using locally built oven with no temperature control
Okay Grace, are you asking about the temperature?
How many minutes does it take to bake for 350⁰
Responded.
Should pound cakes be baked at 350 as well?
I'd day it depends on what the recipe calls for. I bake mine at 300/350°F.
How can i adjust the top temperature and bottom temperature when i bake a cake.
In dake oven
You can do that using the regulator/knobs on the oven for the top and bottom. It would indicate which one is for top and bottom as well.
180°C
That was close Mary!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Well done!
Good one ma ,but when using fabricated oven how do you regulate it?
Will have a video on that this weekend by God's grace, the oven thermometer helps with regulation.
Using a euro fan forced oven
350 f in the United states
Thanks for your response Dee, you're correct!
Alright 350 for how many mins ma
On an average 45 - 1 hour but may take more depending on the size of the Cake and other variables.
180°
Celsius that would be, you're correct!🙂
350 o f
Correct Grace!
180
Thank you!
350
You're right Adaeze!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
150°C for vanilla cakes while oil based cakes are at 100°C
Thank you for your response Hosanna!
350⁰F/180⁰C
Correct Ope!
Too much unnecessary chatter
