These are truly beautiful rifles i had one in 270 and have compared every rifle to this model and it still reigns as my favorite
We feel very fortunate to have this gun!
I received my father’s Remington model 740 woods master 280 in 1969 and when my oldest son turned 40 I gave it to him, oh I still have a model 700 280 . Love the gun

I have 2 - 280 Remingtons. A Ruger 77 from the mid 1970s and a 50 year anniversary model 700 from 2007, both of which my wife bought for me. I know, I’m incredibly lucky to have a wife like that. 😊 Both rifles are extremely accurate and are the only rifles I’ve used for deer and elk hunting since I got the first one. My deer load has always been a 150 nosler ballistic tip over R22 powder and a 160 partition over IMR4831 for everything larger. Both have done the job with no fuss or bother and recoil is very handleable. I can’t think of a better all round calibre for me. I live Iive in British Columbia so the bears get quite big, but I’ve never felt undergunned. That’s a really sweet model 700 that you have inherited. 😊

280!! That cartridge should be a lot more popular. I have 1 that I built. Love it. Built another custom but it was right handed so I sold it. Now I have my first 280 Rem Ackley Improved, also a 700 BDL like yours but left handed and a Bartlein barrel.

@@Accuracy1sthow do you like the 280 AI I bought a Remington 721 with factory checkering at a pawn shops in a 30-06 and I have been shooting it and my other rifles shoot good with my hand loads but this one may have a bad barrel and after bedding the stock and changing the scope and cleaning the barrel really good I am thinking about re-barreling it to the 280 AI I think it would be a good candidate for it
scottscheuerman8714 - I just picked up my SECOND 280AI. this one has a brux barrel and I’m shooting it for the first time this weekend. I don’t have enough experience yet to tell you how I like the cartridge but I love these custom rifles. I’ve only had time to run factory Remington 280 Norma ammo fireforming the cases in the first one and doing the same with the second one. I recommend you call Ken at K&P barrels and order a 7mm 4 groove barrel in 8.5 or 9 twist #3 contour if you’re going to build a 280AI. He’s fast on turn around. But you can also see who has what in stock for brux Bartlein and Krieger barrels. I love 7mm so I’m sure once I get some time based experience with these I’ll love them. I’m also having a 3rd one built on a terminus Zeus QC action - actually 2 more. Another with a brux barrel and one with a K&P
