  • Just a regular guy with real world info and review of the Progressive Suspension 944 Touring Shocks. We talk a little bit on the technology inside these shocks, then go for a test ride. Washboard bumpy roads, smooth highway with bridge joints to some big time shock hits. Check it out!

I love my 944 Progressive shocks. I have them on my Road King Custom that comes stock with 12" shocks & I bought the 13" 944s with the standard spring. I weigh 190. I have them set @ the lowest setting & they work the same with me solo or with cargo & passenger. I don't have to readjust them. Bought the 13" & sits at12" like stock with me on the bike. I think the piggy bank shocks are just an overkill for a cruiser. Buy these you will be happy. It is nice not worrying about losing any air on your shocks or adding air. Best way to describe them is that they feel like my offroad suspension on my 4x4 truck. They absorb all the small bumps on the road like your floating on the road.

Very impressed with the 412 Series Progressive rear coil overs we installed on 2021 RGS #performancebaggin build!

You also need to do the monotube progressive front makes the bike so much better and progressive ones aren’t that expensive?

Thanks Brother, No offense but we have similar demands when it comes to shocks. Ride safe

Good stuff brother! These came on my used 2010 FLHTCU. No complaints. I looked around for "better options" but came up empty. Still happy! Nice to know I've got the top notch stuff for touring! Ride safe!

I'd love to you adjust these "on the fly" as you describe.

I actually have, but not on camera. Was on a trip and did riding at our destination. Loaded up the bike for the ride home . We got a few miles out from our cabin on a bumpy road and had to pull over. I forgot to adjust for the added weight of my gear. I removed my saddle bags and turned in some preload. Made a big difference.

I bought a set of these last year at Daytona. Noticed a huge difference right away and my lady. Since then my ability to adjust the shocks has gone away. The shock is so tight now I cannot turn it to adjust preload. Which I have to do when we go from me to two up. Wondering if you are having this problem? Progressive wants me to send shocks in and could take 3 months. Not happening.
What suspension do you have on the front of your bike?? I ride a 13 Roadglide Ultra also.

I haven't experienced that and I agree that 3 months is unacceptable. I would think that they would have a system set up with a dealer to swap out for a set of new ones same day then the dealer sends them back for warranty.
My front is the still stock but I'm thinking of changing that out too. but it'll probably have to wait until medical bills are paid off.

@@biketotable873 finding a dealer is a good idea. I will try that. Doing front forks soon, I’ll let you know how that goes.

I got the ultra low heavy duty's and they are killing me I'm only 240 and it's on my 21 rg limited and I have them almost on level 8 before they won't bottom out over any bumper

240 is pretty big/heavy my man. Have you considered one of their other shock options that offers the “super duty” springs?
