One thing to be aware of with this one that I've found on my copy; the tattoos on the inside of the elbow joint does rub off when the arms are fully bent. It is easily fixed with a sharpie, but I had not had a figure do that before. Besides that, I absolutely love this figure

I totally agree with this entire review. If I happen across one, he will be the definitive Darth Maul in my collection. The vivid red makes a huge improvement.

My nephews came over for a visit yesterday and after touring my collection room I showed them this new Maul figure. It fired us all up we ended up loading up Battlefront II on the Xbox Series X and tore it up for about 4 hours, the first time I played BF2 in over a year. Don’t have this skin though in the game, and probably will never get it. My nephew, however, is a master at the game and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has every character maxed out with every available skin. He’s that good. Love this (and every) Maul. One character I don’t mind repaint/resculpts/re-release. Well done! 😁

Fantastic looking figure mine although has trouble standing. The feet seem to like to lock in a certain position making it difficult to pose standing for my version. Time to invest in figure stands!

I simply twisted and spun the blades as I gently pushed them into the hilt and it went in easily. Great detail overall

Well...DAMN! i was orginally skipping on him as i felt i had all the maul looks i desired in my collection...but after watching this and seeing that pose at the end with the holocron and Darksaber ...must have him!

I just got the Clone Wars Maul today. It's another great figure with a ball joint waist and diaphragm.
The new one beats it with the paint apps. Much more vibrant.

Hasbro didn’t add the wooden stick that maul use as a walking stick that is attached to his lightsaber.
Well yeah because this is based on his look in BF2 not Rebels. Would be cool to see them do a rebels specific version tho. -Nate

I have this skin and never take it off. In game the head is the exact same as his younger appearance amd the legs much more represemnt his legs in Solo a Star Wars story. This is has never bothered me though.

OMG!! I can’t wait to get one! Unfortunately, with GameStop, I didn’t pre-order online but I did in store. That’s always a little iffy though. So that means that I’m pretty stressed about getting mine. lol 😅 great review. Can’t wait to have it in hand.

I wrote this in the discord Nate, but Maul actually wore this exact look in a couple episodes of S3! Not as iconic a look as Twilight of the Apprentice or Twin Suns of course, but still a Rebels look nonetheless, and I agree, it’s the best Maul yet! Really the only other outfit we could get is his Solo look. Hope to see that someday!

Just picked up mine at a local GameStop yesterday. It truly is the best Maul we have gotten in TBS. Makes me wish they would retool the original with soft goods robe!

I do wish they'd have based it more on Rebels over the BF2 skin and given him the hood and cane he used in the show, but eh, it's fine, still a good figure.

@@OutOfTheBasement To me, after checking images, it's just off. The chest and face on season 7 maul was similar. I'm gonna try adding a wash to the arms to stain the plastic a bit.

Nice figure, but not a fan of the head sculpt. It doesn't look like Rey Park or the Animated version, so I can't help but think it's some cosplay dude.

Hello Nate thanks for reviewing the new Maul Old Master figure for the black series figures.
I definitely need this version of Maul for my Rebels display when I get around to setting that up. The forward ab crunch is incredible to see on a black series figure. I also love the look of his dual blade lightsaber. Yes Maul should look a bit older but at least we are getting this wonderful looking Gaming Greats version.

Yeah but Nate, S.H, Figuarts Darth Maul is still the King. He actually drew my blood once with his sharp head horns once. So it was a blood pact made. I'll never argue against him. That, and he's just better by design in all aspects. Hasbro can keep trying but so far Count Dooku is their only win against SH Figuarts, which in turn surely makes Dooku an automatic BS banger.
But see that’s why I said Black Series. I don’t have the SHF because it’s wayy too expensive on the aftermarket. I’d also disagree the BS Mace Windu and 2020 Stormtrooper blows the SHF versions away. Also considering SHF is x3 to x4 more expensive I’d HOPE they would be better figures… just sayin. Thanks for watching! -Nate
