As someone who is really into all the different lightsaber details in Star Wars media (and someone who has built lightsaber props), seeing 2/4 of this waves’ lightsabers being the wrong sculpt and half of the correct ones being painted wrong is really going to bother me more than it should.
Kits saber is not correct. Strange since Grevious did come with Kits saber with a different paint job. Also can’t get his saber to attach to his belt. This wave, while still awesome, was a lazy effort
Droid sentience makes the Clone Wars show extremely dark. It makes it feel wrong to watch them blaster and slice through hordes of them. Granted, Windu tried to spare them in the recent season and they tried to kill him. So I don't know how to feel about it.
I put plo’s cloak on my Anakin and undid the front stitch so it looks completely legit on Anakin. Anakin actually did have those weird front tendrils on his cloak. I think it looks fantastic on Anakin and Plo looks great without the cloak. It sort of makes up for Anakin’s lack of soft goods. At least that’s how I’m rationalizing it!! 😅👍🏻
I realize the pandemic is slowing everything down but I just wish they would be more informative about delays. The whole situation is a major bummer because I recently started collecting and I’m just super excited about all the figures I have to wait months for now.

I like how these look, but there's some points where it seems like they could have gone the extra mile. Obi-wan could really use a cloth-goods cloak and was it really too hard to give anakin his green lightsaber as well?

All the head and face paints are awesome. Hasbro really nailed it. But sadly the wrist articulation still not satisfying. I hope they give another hand gestures too.
You think you've seen lanky, just look at clone wars Anakin. Also, Anakin shouldn't look lanky in ROTS since he gained pretty much most of his weight in muscle before filming. AOTC Anakin is alot more skinny.
I wonder why the didn't use more the Windu's body, maybe scaled down for shorter characters. To me it's the best jedi body they made with the separate soft plastic, while Obiwan and Anakin just look like big blocks of lifeless hard plastic 🤔
PLO koon and Kit fisto are incredibly awesome. I'm hoping for more TCW/prequel characters, jedi Council members Super Battle Droids and magna guards. Great review
Great review, as always. I don't want to complain too much, but for being the first BS wave I've ever wanted in its entirety, this wave is unbelievably disappointing. This is the opposite of a filler wave to me (AotC was the first SW movie I saw) and has been something I've been looking forward to since it was announced, but it's such a lazy effort from Hasbro. If Hasbro is dedicated to making more Jedi, there is a ton of places for reuse considering they all wear basically the same outfit, some share lightsabers, and they almost all have the exact same robe (which Hasbro didn't include here at all for some reason). Because of that, it's disappointing to see them reuse parts in places they don't work. Totally fine with the battle droid, that's a great place for reuse. Outside of that, Plo Koon is the only figure I'm happy with (which is good because he's my favorite side character in Star Wars and the figure I wanted most by far). I'm perplexed by the paint on his lightsaber though, they added paint (which costs more money to my knowledge) that made it inaccurate when the sculpt itself is fine. Kit Fisto is just a mess. The upper torso is wrong, he's way too short (Kit is taller than both Mace Windu and Plo), the lack of paint on the back of the head compared to the front is laughably bad, he has the wrong lightsaber, and the lack of smiling head is disappointing since that's what he's most known for. Padawan Anakin has the wrong saber, the lack of skirt as you mentioned, and a lack of needed accessories (I'll touch on that later). Obi-Wan is one where the reuse totally makes sense, but the figure just looks wrong to me; I don't think I've seen a more drastic difference between the promo pics (which looked amazing) and the actual figure from this line. I think my biggest problem is, what am I going to do with these figures? I like to recreate scenes in my display, and these figures are terrible for doing that. Kit Fisto is known for two scenes - pushing C-3PO and cracking a big smile, and confronting Palpatine. He has no smiling head or robe, so you can't recreate either of those scenes. I would assume most people would want an AotC Anakin and Obi-Wan to either recreate the Geonosis arena battle or the Dooku duel, but you can't do either because they don't have their borrowed lightsabers. Padme had the droid gun she picks up in the arena, so why don't they have their sabers (I know it's a matter of new tooling, but this wave wasn't exactly up to par in that department anyway). They also already had to create a new forearm for Anakin, so would it have been too much trouble to include a nub? Also, why is it so hard to include robes with Jedi? It's just so frustrating because I want all these characters, but Hasbro dropped the ball hard here and I highly doubt we'll get new versions for years. It's hard to justify paying $20 for figures that have 1 accessory (that isn't even accurate for most of them) and don't even match the film.
I’m not sure if anyone has figured this out or has mentioned it yet but from the looks of it the saber hilt that came with padawan Anakin is actually a re-paint of Vader’s saber. I think it’s worth comparing the 2 side by side!!!
Would be great if in the future the Jedi could actually wield their lightsabers with 2 hands in various poses. Double jointed elbows may ruin the sculpt, but at least their would be more variety in posing options.
fun fact, the companies that actually make the figures can actually add chemicals to the plastics to make them more matte, at no extra cost, but hasbro just doesnt have them do it because they are retarded.

Fun fact: Anakin's lightsaber design in Ep II is almost identical Darth Vader's saber, but with silver paint replacing black, mostly around the top. Hence Hasbro just repainting the Vader hilt for this new Anakin.
I feel like the Clone armor Obi and this new Obi can head swap and give us an accurate 2003 Clone Wars Obi Wan, and, with some repainting, a better Revenge Of The Sith Obi Wan
@@SpoonDude It's unfortunate they re-used the sculpt of Vader's lightsaber though for this figure. Vader's hung off his belt right side up, while Anakin's was supposed to be hung upside down with a peg. That's why you see a loop at the top of the hilt in Robo's review lol

There are indeed two different ObiWan Kenobi figs. Lighter boots vs. darker boots. Tunics are lighter as well. There is lighter hair vs. darker hair. Why? That's Hasbro! My Kenobi has lighter boots and darker hair. Looks movie accurate

Getting pretty tired with Hasbro's reuse (Kit) I stopped picking up BAF waves to begin with Edit, Plo too >:( wth, I can deal with the army builds, but not unique characters
It looks like they used a sculpt of Darth Vaders saber for Anakin’s instead of making his Episode 2 one. They just painted the emitter shroud silver. Which oddly enough, that shroud looks like the Revenge of the Sith version on Vaders saber. The grips going all the way up to the activation switch is how his saber is in Empire. And it has the cut outs like A New Hope (in Empire, it had wires looping through those slots).
I hate Y-jointed hips on any figure, but I recently got Yavin Ceremony Luke Skywalker and when you bring the leg up the rotation breaks the stripe on the outside of his pants...which is pants. Same problem with the Imperial Patrol Trooper.
Top Jedi I want the most are Aayla secura , Shaak ti , luminaria and or Barriss, Ki adi mundi , Jocasta nu and Coleman Trebor/ yarael Poof, Quinlan Vos and lastly Tera Sinube. I know that’s a lot to ask for and I understand most of them might never come but it would be nice
Kit Fisto had 2 testicle either side at the front in AOTC but only 1 each side in ROTS. Also his eyes were much bigger in ROTS and I mean MUCH bigger. Agree on the smile, he needs it.
With the popularity of the clone wars show that just ended this year I hope that leads to more prequel love like I'm tired of getting the same luke or han and want more prequel characters. This wave is a very nice start. I'd love a aayla secura and a ki adi. Also more sith I'd like a new maul from clone wars and ventress also how havent we got a padawan ahsoka

i feel like when you did the video on the last black series announcement, where they literally wasted every single persons time by taking an hour to announce....well nothing, i feel like you were being a little too nice. i mean man, they really really dropped the ball. if all we have to look forward to is repaints for the entire foreseeable future, we should be calling it what it is and not giving them the benefit of nothing. it isnt like they give these to us for free. So when they spend an hour, to show us the new stuff in the works, and there is not 1 new wave or new figure announced, we should be calling them greedy idiots. because they are being so ignorant to the fact we will gladly hand them our money for just 1 wave of legends figures. it tells me that the team doing the black series arent really star wars fans. they are just people hired off the street to work on a product

Looks like the just reused a Vader lightsaber hilt for Anakin. They have a very similar design but the Vader one is way too big.
His Padawan saber is pretty much his ANH/ESB Vader saber but with a silver shroud, but it looks like they used the RotJ stunt saber.

I found the extra sabers that came with the sh figuarts episode 2 Anakin, work great as Kit and Plo lightsabers.

Getting pretty tired with Hasbro's reuse (Kit) I stopped picking up BAF waves to begin with Edit, Plo too >:( wth, I can deal with the army builds, but not unique characters
It looks like they used a sculpt of Darth Vaders saber for Anakin’s instead of making his Episode 2 one. They just painted the emitter shroud silver. Which oddly enough, that shroud looks like the Revenge of the Sith version on Vaders saber. The grips going all the way up to the activation switch is how his saber is in Empire. And it has the cut outs like A New Hope (in Empire, it had wires looping through those slots).
Lol, anakins his saber is supposed to be green, and that hilt and repainted Vader.
I am really thinking of nose diving into prequel stuff. Lol

I hate Y-jointed hips on any figure, but I recently got Yavin Ceremony Luke Skywalker and when you bring the leg up the rotation breaks the stripe on the outside of his pants...which is pants. Same problem with the Imperial Patrol Trooper.
Top Jedi I want the most are Aayla secura , Shaak ti , luminaria and or Barriss, Ki adi mundi , Jocasta nu and Coleman Trebor/ yarael Poof, Quinlan Vos and lastly Tera Sinube. I know that’s a lot to ask for and I understand most of them might never come but it would be nice
Kit Fisto had 2 testicle either side at the front in AOTC but only 1 each side in ROTS. Also his eyes were much bigger in ROTS and I mean MUCH bigger. Agree on the smile, he needs it.
I leave the little antenna off the battle droid since all the grunts ALWAYS have the backpack. Only officers are seen with the singular antenna
With the popularity of the clone wars show that just ended this year I hope that leads to more prequel love like I'm tired of getting the same luke or han and want more prequel characters. This wave is a very nice start. I'd love a aayla secura and a ki adi. Also more sith I'd like a new maul from clone wars and ventress also how havent we got a padawan ahsoka
I've ordered two of the ATOC Anakins and they were both missing the soft good skirt thing.. had to make my own using the old E3 Obiwan one for a template.

i feel like when you did the video on the last black series announcement, where they literally wasted every single persons time by taking an hour to announce....well nothing, i feel like you were being a little too nice. i mean man, they really really dropped the ball. if all we have to look forward to is repaints for the entire foreseeable future, we should be calling it what it is and not giving them the benefit of nothing. it isnt like they give these to us for free. So when they spend an hour, to show us the new stuff in the works, and there is not 1 new wave or new figure announced, we should be calling them greedy idiots. because they are being so ignorant to the fact we will gladly hand them our money for just 1 wave of legends figures. it tells me that the team doing the black series arent really star wars fans. they are just people hired off the street to work on a product

Just a thought, but can you use a Plo Koon Body and neck joint on a Kit Fisto??
It looks like you can hang the lightsaber on Anakin if you turn the lightsaber rightside up like on Vader.
