In June, the Indian Space Research Organization, or ISRO, announced that it plans to launch its own space station by 2030.
This would make India the fourth country to launch a space station that is solely its own, along with Russia, the United States, and China.
India is yet to send a human being into space and the country has not released any concrete plans on how it plans to build its station or what it will even look like, but it is an ambitious and admirable goal.
From the Soviet Union’s Saylut 1, Saylut 2, and Cosmos 557, to China’s Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2, we dive into what challenges other nations faced while putting their first space stations into orbit on this episode of Elements.

I can't believe the sheer nerve of the people to not appreciate a global emerging giant economy to venture actively into space race for betterment of mankind is met by petty comments asking to solve the problems of the country. More likely path, especially with corporations becoming more and more affordable with space RnD. India will have its rightful place right next to the other great powers. To contain brain drain, Indian corporate sector needs to seriously invest in applied research. Right now, they don't invest anything in applied research. (By anything I mean its peanuts compared to what the Government invests in CSIR, DRDO and ISRO). These old money minded industrialists need to see the bigger picture and stop relying on just lower labour costs to achieve their profits. They need to learn how to innovate for a market. Wages will rise in India and at some point, relying on that alone will not make us competitive anymore. If Indian Industry has not learned to lead by innovation by then, we Indians are going to end up in a middle income trap. Which means we will never reach the status of an advanced economy and will end up like Brazil. China has already negotiated its way around middle income trap. Indian industry is running out of time and brains.

Hey you forgot to mention the mission "Mangalyaan" which was India's 1st and successful attempt to reach Mars. No other country did this. The rover has successfully landed on Mars and has sent many pics from there and is still functional.

This reminds me of the visions I had read on books based on forever respected late Vikram Sarabhai ( Father of Indian Space Program), who had laid the foundation of the space agency in our country during the increasing turmoil and crisis of economy just post independence and depsite having oppressed & threatened by other nations around he never shortened his will. His visions were stretched beyond a future in fore times and predicted India's inclusive development in space research and innovation among successful nations of the World. ❤️ 🌍

No, ISRO is planning to have a space station of 3-4 tonnes, which can be taken into space in one or two rides. ISS is something around 20 tonnes.
ISS is more than 100 tons whereas ISRO's space station is around 20 tons.
Isro is wonderful and optimistic. It's planning to attempt for the second time to land a rover on mars but this time they aren't making any new orbiter but instead they are using the same orbiter from the previous mission as it is still operational and this one is just to land a rover

The moon is covered in regolith and it is a very degrading material. Meaning it puts wear exponentially on geared movements and where there is a seam. The regolith is very very fine and very abrasive due to its hardness.

First abolish caste system, you are Brahmin don't tell people you are brahmin, don't call dalit untouchables, then we dont need reservation. In India sc st population is 24 % but only 5% sc population and 1% st population over the poverty level and the other 18 % is below extreme poverty and face caste discrimination at daily basis, pls don't talk nonsense.
ISRO and DRDO are one of the only government organizations where Reservation system doesn't exist.
Wrong. Firstly our economy is poor. Secondly there is no reservations in ISRO for scientist or engineer based on caste. And yea instead of hating reservation just abolish the caste system. There will be no reservation if there is no caste.
If there is a 10% reservation, 90% can be yours. If you've failed to capture the 90% of the seats, how do you plan to capture the 10% reserved seat. Plus, there is no reservation in ISRO or DRDO. People who constantly brag about reservation system are just a moron who just love excuses.

Despite budgetary limitations ISRO has started development of key components related to it's human space flight and space station missions unofficially in way back 2004. But official announcement was made on 2019. This means that they laid strong foundations before construction of multi storey buildings.
I think this makes proud for third world specially South Asian countries. We will share Knowledge and space program with these countries so that they expend his knowledge and will improve his space technology. It's turn for South Asia to again arise in the world. Amin.....
We started by taking rocket parts on cycle to building a space station of our own!!!!

We achieved, what we do today without nasa's budget but with limited resources...
