I have talked to an ISRO scientist, they mentioned that even in just the 2 weeks time CY-3 has collected soo much data that it'll take 3 years to study it. So, definitely more scientific finding coming out of this.

Seems like ISRO science is not as transparent when we had rockets and satellites launched in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. There were tangible results like live telecasts, long distance telephony, remote sensing etc … lately the outcomes and benefits of missions could not be verified as easily.

The ice may have been there for millions of years but lunar dust is constantly moved around by static electric forces and micro meteorite impacts, which allows the stuff to cover every bit of its surface. What I gather was that permanently shadowed regions was not on the cards. Even if the landing had been closer to the south pole, to examine permanently shadowed regions, the landing itself would have to be inside a crater which could be several kilometers deep. Not sure if the rover would be able to navigate the slopes.

I find it more cool that some of the water ice on the moon is technically part of earths water from when Thea collided with proto earth, so once we gather some of it we gotta bring it back home and compare it to our water or at least save some of it.

Every space agency in the world kept tracking the progress and path of Chandrayaan 3 after it was launched .. like mothers and aunts keeping tracks of a baby whether it reaches its destination or not .. I have so much love and respect for everyone and hope we all come together in future to reach unbelievable heights in future and make the UNIVERSE ( not only earth 😊 ) a better place ❤❤.

He's comparing a cheap and expendable mission with an extremely narrow scope to the Artemis missions, which have resulted in a dramatic expansion in space lift vehicles and capacity, and which will place both humans and highly advanced robotic exploration vehicles on the moon, will create humankind's first extraterrestrial space station and place it in lunar orbit, and will pave the way for human settlement of the moon.

The amount of racism and hatred for India in the comment section by some westerners is just crazy.
Thankfully, an equal (or more) amount of westerners cheering India's accomplishment is a positive for us and the entire world.
Let's at least keep the field of science free of hate.
    Love from India ❤

Congratulations India! Your nation came through with vaccine production during the pandemic. Now, this historic new chapter in Lunar exploration has changed the economic landscape of space travel before returning a single bit of telemetry! Bravo, fellow space folk, and the lifesavers down the hall in biochem! Thank you!

India is famous of playing uncertainty. With only 14 days of the navigation, they can announce much more than they saw.
