  • Love this pouch with pockets, a free pattern just for you! Take your time and follow the video, give it a go, even a beginner can make this! A great quick make, this time with internal pockets, so easy to sew.... let me know how you get on!
    You will need:
    1 x 9" X 22" of outer fabric (I've used flower sunburst by Fabric Freedom)
    1 x 9" x 22" of lining fabric
    1 x 9" x 22" of interfacing ( I use Vlieseline® H 250) UK
    1 half zip 24"1 zip slider

      Of course after making one you have to make another, to use the other side of the zip haha. So I changed the 2nd one a little, using up a piece of fabric that was shorter but deeper. (I guess any size can be made) then instead of sewing across the fold of fabric at the bottom, I drew a line where the crease would have been and stitched across the fabric before folding up, which just left the raw edges at the side to finish it off. It looks the same from the outside and I didn't waste the fabric from the 'fold'. The second pouch went a lot quicker, so once again thanks for a great 'quick' pouch tutorial :)

    I had to make one straight away. For some reason it cut my fabric 9 X 13. I used a medium interfacing. It is a cute wee pouch. Then I had to make one 9 X 22. I used light weight interfacing (it's what I had). Then I sewed the zip to my "linning" fabric. Both pouches are great!. I'm going to get some sleep and sew some more tomorrow. I already have 2 cut out. Ha ha

    Fantastic method for creating the pockets! Quick question - the folded edge that forms on side of the pocket - is that left to float inside the pouch? The OCD in me wants to stitch that in place - kindly advise, with thanks!

    • @LizzyCurtis
      @LizzyCurtis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Catherine Gray haha! I get that! Yes it floats, you could stitch up that side a bit but it would distort the shape.... I’ve toyed with hand stitching down inside the pocket but it wouldn’t be so easy to go all the way down... the idea needs exploring!!
