  • updated version of the 4 seam purse/wallet... the first edition reached nearly 250,000 views, so I know how popular this one will be with the magnetic closure... see the next video for the same purse but with a popper/snap fastener! super easy make!
    1 piece 6.5" x 20" outer
    1 piece 6.5" x 20" lining
    1 magnetic closure
    stabiliser or interfacing
    matching thread

    Measurements are 10.5" from bottom edge of outer fabric for " fat" part of magnetic closure
    and 1 1/4" from top edge of lining for the "thin" part of magnetic closure. Both closures are attached to the right side of the fabric. rewatch video if you are not sure.

    Good morning Lizzy from New Zealand. I have been making heaps of the popper version for our symposium goodie bags. I was having a bit of trouble getting the turning close looking neat so have modified and made a seam in lining about 2.5 to 3 inches inches from top of flap which is my turning area and it works a treat but has another seam but it has helped me get a better closure. Won't try magnetic closure just yet as that will make purses too dear for this project and I might have to change measurements for inserting clasp. I added .5 inch to my lining to allow for the extra seam.

      @@LizzyCurtis I love these little projects they are just great for our goodie bags. They look a million dollars
      I have made a few of the one piece bags as well and tried to put a rounded corner on flap but failed as I cut it too soon so put a contrasting colour in where I had to take my mistake out and I have made a two colour one. I made the pouch a bit bigger and the flap smaller.

    So if I wanted to customize the measurements, then I could just take think of it as first fold goes from 40 to 20 inch then half again and that's 10 inch and then add the inch I want for the flappy thing, like 5 inches? So in total it would be 45 inch? Or is there and easier way to think of it?

    • @LizzyCurtis
      @LizzyCurtis  4 ปีที่แล้ว
