A very interesting project. I made two already after watching the tutorial yesterday. I made the first one exactly like you did but in 2nd I used my creativity. I attached both the lining and the top fabric right sides together for 6.5 inches seam . then flipped the right sides out and adjusted the top lining part equally on both seams. Then top stitch that seam. It took two extra seams but it saved me time in folding and ironing the ends of lining and end result was neater . Rest of the procedure was same for both. Thanks for such an amazing tutorial.
This was so fun to make! I have been making zippered pouches for a hospice company and for the children in my Primary class for their birthdays! Now I have another tool in my bag making! It didn't take very long to put it together -- now I can stuff it with candy or other fun things!
I make totes and clutches, and saw one of these in a boutique yesterday. "That's magical!" I thought. I'm so stoked right now to have found this video. Thank you!!!!!
I do a lot of sewing for homeless shelters. Usually do zipper bags but going to make a bunch of these also. The kids could use them for pencil cases, school snacks, etc.

Wow! Using a measuring tape! The pre-made strip snaps and magnetic snaps are EXPENSIVE! I also love the triangle folding method. I think I'll try quilting the fabric first and also use bias tape to finish the inside seams.

I tried your snap bag. Amazing how easy it is. I use duck tape on the end of my measuring tape. I found the Walmart brand of duck tape work really good. Thanks
Cindy Happel I agree with the bias tape. I would also do the stitching on the triangle edges, RST, turn right way out after stitching ¼” on both ends and then press.
Very cute. Thanks for the basic construction information. I'm sure people with have their own techniques for finishing off these lovely little pouches. I love the little 'pulls' on the side. Cool way of folding them too ❤️
I love this project, However, I would highly recommend finishing the raw edges on those inside seams. and quilting the project before sewing the seams would really be great and give the bag a bit more stability.
I've made several over the past few days and I did enclosed (French) seams. I cut the measuring tape a little shorter and inserted the pieces, then sewed a very narrow seam with WRONG sides together. Then flipped it to have RIGHT sides together and stitched the sides again, enclosing all the raw edges. Came out real cute and neat.
Ohmy gosh! I just found my Halloween bags for this year! The kids are going to love this and I don't have to know how to do a zipper. So easy and so stylish! Thank you!

You can buy duct tape in colors. So you could get some of matching color that won't show through the fabric. These are so cute. Thanks for the video. Love the prairie point made this way.
Ive had some denim pieces left over so now I will make some bags with something masculine in design (whatever that is) to go with it and a different pull tab. Fill with something. tada for the men in my family. Thanks so much the snap is brilliant.
It might be useful to serge the 3 layers (outer, batting and lining) before you turn down the casing, then the inner seam will be more finished. Then you can continue with the tape measure. Not sure it will help, but I'll try it this way and see what happens. Thanks for sharing.
It is really cute and fast. A good tip would be to place the tape measure down before folding over the ends and mark where you need to sew (removing tape measure first) to ensure it will slide in easily and not be too small of a pocket. Measure so you won’t have to rip.

Neat bag with the pull triangles. Some origami! And that iron, which pops up when you move it aside. Wow!
The iron makes a crisper crease then the clapper, leave your iron on the material just a few seconds more also the camera guy had a really great tip !

Thanks for this cute tutorial I was looking for something small to put pacifiers in to keep in diaper bag, will make a cute add on to burp cloths for baby gift.
I personally don't like the unfinished edges but wouldn't dare use my serger. I will probably zigzag the edges and see how that goes.
Double fold bias tape?
French seam?
Yeah, if there's not too much bulk!
I thought of that or making my own binding.
U could serge the edges individually b4 u begin sewing.
That is super cute, but I wouldn’t leave that raw seam inside. I’d either do a true “inside out” lining, or I’d use fusible batting, and after fusing it to the fabric, I’d go ahead and serge all edges before assembling so there are no raw edges on that inside seam.
I love your pink iron. 💗
Thank you. So easy and so many variations
