Looks great! I was thinking about this the other day for my 4runner so I'm really glad i found your video! I think its a clean look, should have been factory lol

Just one thing to say is never use those scotch lock wire taps they will always have problems with connection issues down the road!

You are absoulty right but in this case the coustomer wasn't sure if he wanted the reverse function hooked up but he wanted to try it out. So I did this so he could try it. Then when he liked it I brought it back in (no charge to him) and removed the scotch lock wire taps and permintly tapped in to the factory harness.

I am not a fan of those lights being wired into the 4runners reserve lights. Anytime you use them you blind other people. I installed lights in the same location but only for off roading to my Spod.

I have these in the bumper of my jeep and haven't had anyone gripe at me for it and they sit higher than the 4 runner. If anything I like the extra light to make it easer to see things behind me and makes me more visible to people. Also the sports light output is not as bad as you would think with the flood pattern its enough without being offensive in my opinion.

I have similar rigid lights on my bumper but hooked up to an S-pod for off roading and backing up at night. I have seen people with these lights and it’s 100% blinding at night in a parking lot.

So..wiring is donr only with existing rear lights? No need to run wire to engine bay?

That can depend on the vehicle. Some yes, others you will need to wire in a relay or use the Diode Dynamics harness that they sell. My jeep had halogen bulbs which pull a higher amp then LEDs so when I converted to the LED bulbs I had enough amps left over on the factory fuse not to cause it to blow. Same thing with this 4 runner. Also the the ss2 (Sport) which is what was used in this video and on my jeep only pull .6 of an amp per pod so in total it was only 1.2 amp added to the circuit. If use the ss2 pro or any ss3 I would recommend the harness or adding a relay to the system.

It's a 2022 4 runner in the video. So it is the blue wire on the taillight connector is what they or you are looking for. Sounds to me like they need to watch the video.
Thanks for the heads on the year of the 4 runner not being in the title or description.. That will be getting fixed right now.
