Would really like you to try XP Pen magic drawing pad (16k pressure levels) since your brush workflow is the most similar to mine I could find for reviewers.
pressure level is not really what affects that. I also think this is one of the few reviewers that talks about that, it's called IAF (initial activation force), it's what most impacts the feel of the pen when you are drawing, it's the force you need to apply on the screen for it to detect the first level of pressure of the pen (so pressure levels are useless if the IAF is not calibrated well) 4k is more than enough, tablet companies keep adding more and more pressure levels and marketing it as the game changing feature but it's just buzzwords. The IAF is much more important. You can test if a pen has a good IAF by holding the pencil by the top end, place the tip on the screen and let the pen's own weight do the drawing by sliding it over the screen, if it doesn't leave a mark it's not well calibrated and you will have a hard time doing gesture and lighter sketching, and it will also affect tilt since when you tilt the pen you're barely applying any force to it. sorry for the long reply, I hope you find a good tablet for you.

Hello! thank you for the review for this tab but i still have several questions for the performance 1. While you using CSP, do you feel any lags during drawing? also what is the highest setting for the canvas that you ever used before its getting laggy. (Also I heard Ipad maximum DPI is 300, I wonder if samsung is limiting its DPI as well) 2. I asked someone who used samsung s9 fe said that he used around 3k canvas with 300 DPI and able to reach 20 layers with no lags (without using any effects). Considering s9 fe and s9 chipset is different and the comparison during gaming is pretty noticeable, I wonder how many layers that you can use before you getting notification that the memory is increasing and how much of a difference between the layers
I typically use 10 layers max while I’m working for better layer management but I think the Tab S9 could handle 20 layers depending on the canvas resolution. The exact resolution at which lag starts can vary based on the complexity of the artwork and the number of layers. You can probably expect smooth performance up to 6000 x 4000 pixels with moderate to high layer counts.
Haven't tried that one yet- but if the tab s9 was able to multi-task between nomad sculpt and clip studio, I reckon it should work fine. Again that depends on file complexity.

What color mode for the display is the best for drawing, vivid or natural? I find the natural one being very dull and even with a sort of warm tint to it, so I'd appreciate your opinion on this!
I go for Natural mode over Vivid because Vivid overdoes the colors. Choosing Natural is better in terms of color accuracy in terms of file export. If I export an artwork image using Vivid mode, the image file will look dull compared to the tablet screen's vivid mode especially if it gets printed or viewed on another device.

I initially wanted to get this tab for journaling and digital art but seeing that the pen sensitivity is not standard across apps like CSP and infinite painter is a bummer :(
The Samsung aspect ratio and dimensions is not the best for art too narrow wide screen better for basic task, gaming and watching videos/movies plus less black boarder around videos. iPad is more square dimensions is better for artists/illustrators but gaming and videos have more black boarder so sometimes cuts the content off. If your not an artist Samsung is better and for the price. Samsung wide screen and iPad more square so more space on the top and bottom so better especially for using apps with tools on the sides and in portrait mode.
@@_StarlightRose_ I’m a trying-hard wannabe artist who can’t seem to get sketches right. For now, any stylus or pen would do. I didn’t know Samsung has pen variants. Apple has no pencil crafted only for artists.
If you're talking about the rubber tips you get from samsung s pen I 100% agree that's more so for writing than getting quick smooth lines which I just ordered plastic nibs from aliexpress it works really well
@brushimpact I don't have this particular tablet but I had an issue with Samsung customer service before, and I was not impressed, to say the least. Still, they make a damn good hardware, and the price for their gadgets are going down rather quickly opposing to Apple's.
Thanks for watching! For digital brushes and mentorships click here: jingmatinong.gumroad.com/ OR www.artstation.com/jingmatinong What do you think of the S9’s art performance and stylus?
One more thing: There are also several alternative pens available that you can use on the S9, like the Staedler pen, for example, or the wacom one pen and more. And if you also have a galaxy pen enabled phone like I have (s23 ultra) , you can use the same pens on the phone as well. It works cross hardware platform .
Samsung will support tabs for 3 to 4 years, iPads work for 8 to 10 years. Samsung products are untested, mostly faulty and the after sales service is a joke. It can’t connect to a Mac as an external display and you miss out on iPad only apps. So when all these problems go away, Samsung can start dreaming about your title.

If you’re a beginner working on the samsung tab s9 alone is more than enough. Not sure if the S9 will support your tablet’s cable connection.
for me the S8+ is awesome, already better than ipad
Hi thanks for watching. What art app are you using and how’s the digital painting experience?
No hahaha
Hello! This tablet does not work well with glass. Which glass would you recommend to make it work normally? ( sorry for my English)
If by glass you meant screen protector, I haven’t tried one yet.
@jingmatinong Yes!I meant screen protector. Still, thanks for answering!
I'm thinking of buying it for Nomad Sculpt. Do you think I should buy it, do you recommend it?
best way to find out is if you try testing it first in their stores
would you mind if i want your opinion?
Now i'm using Ipad Air5 64GB but my storage is not enough and I don't use the iPad for anything except drawing because of the space. and i'm not apple eco system [ i have only one ipad ]
Now i'm thinking about move on to samsung galaxy tap [ maybe S9+ or 10+ that will be coming soon ]
Should i move on to the samsung galaxy tap?
i'm 2D and comic artist.
I did a quick review of Huawei Matepad 11.5 S PaperMatte. It seems really great for inking:
th-cam.com/users/shortsjsqyd_mY13I?si=J5Fz5phC4hsTqBya
I also made a new review on the M4 iPad here:
th-cam.com/video/xgAw_LNgnbA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ao_xurZWHb-SoUJx
Best way to know if you like a tablet is to go to the store itself and try it out.
Which is good for digital art Samsung tab or iPad ?
It really depends on what you are looking for. I just made an iPad review here comparing it to other devices too: th-cam.com/video/xgAw_LNgnbA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=52cGjWqGmIWuPW0d
does anyone know if the power of this tablet would handle 2D animation programs like clip studio? for small projects?
It should be powerful enough to do that
I use tab s9 fe and i use to my study and drawings
Nice, how is it so far?
Would u rather use the iPad Pro 2021 or S9? They cost almost the Same for me and need help to Chose
I've compared the iPad Pro with some features of the S9's S-pen here: th-cam.com/video/xgAw_LNgnbA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=klvnmkNwkjurGNrV
What would u?
I gotten the iPad Pro 12.9 2021 last week, and gonna get this S9 base model this week. Both used. Probably the best way to decide which to keep. I have a feeling that iPad Pro may be gone as I am just sketching for hobbyist. I may really missed Procreate tho but I still got my old Ipad Mini 5 for that lol
Can you try Samsung NotePaper Screen for Tab S9 tablets
hopefully in the near future! :)
Is the screen size enough for drawing?
It does the job, but for a more immersive drawing experience, I suggest going for a larger screen tablet.
@@jingmatinong Does that mean it's enough to just work on a commission?
@@zayn7534 it depends on what type of art you like to create. For my professional work, I paint for long hours and the iPad is still the best tablet at this point.
Which among these tablets do u think are best for the beginners s9 or s9 fe or s9 fe+ and can you please suggest the varient!?
For beginners, it makes sense to get what fits your budget the most - like the S9 FE.
Then, get really good at your skills. Once you get better, get a pricier tablet.
@@jingmatinong Thank you

Hi do you have a review on the best screen protector you found?
Not yet-If you have any suggestions which products what to review let me know! 😊 right now I’m using a paperlike screen protector from a local electronics store.. been using it for 5 years with no issues.
But doesn’t paperlike protector wear out the s pen tip?
It could wear out the tip, depending on usage.
Nice I found your video. I guess I am going to get Tab S9. Are you a kabayan?
what is the name of this application?
Clip Studio Paint
Could you tell me what's the best app for this tablet?
Infinite Painter and Clip Studio Paint
Awesome review. I agree though that the iPad's interface is much more superior.
It’s interesting to see how much people care about navigation.
@@jingmatinong lol. I know right. But thank you for this review though. I appreciate that it's coming from an artist's perspective. I initially wanted to get this tab for journaling and digital art but seeing that the pen sensitivity is not standard across apps like CSP and infinite painter is a bummer :(
The s-pen has tremendous potential and if it gets developed further it could be a game-changer.
@@jingmatinongyk on android you gotta swipe up to find your apps rt......
Do you use paper matte texture tempered glass?
I did not use any paper matte texture. I just drew on the screen as it is.
@@jingmatinong thanks im currently using paper texture protector but it just wears down fast
@@alt_key946 Most welcome. Yes, they really wear down especially if you write/draw on it a lot.
Which inc and dpi are you using usually
300 dpi for the most part if i know it's going to be a detailed render such as this piece.
Do you need a keyboard as well?
If you like using a keyboard go for it but in my case I didn’t need it at that point.
Ipad air 4 or tab s9 fe for drawing and school ?
That depends what you prefer-if you’re more into writing and inking go with Tab S9. If you love to draw, paint and write..go with the iPad.
would it work well with blender? thank you
I've only used Blender on a Mac or PC, but not on Tablets.
@@jingmatinong thank you for the reply. they use on wacom mobile pro. is it that one tablet?
The wacom mobile studio pro is more like a portable PC, and can operate more softwares than regular tablets.
I use Krita for my PC drawing tablet. Can you use Krita and Nomad Sculpt on this tablet?
I did a brief Nomad Sculpt demo near the end of the video. Didn’t try Krita on S9 yet tho.
Krita is on android
If it works on the s6 lite, which is leagues less powerful, it will work on this
So yes
Damn, I use both on my samsung s20 ultra connected to my xp pen, I'm literally watching this video because I want to get this tablet for those apps.
Word.
The Tab S9 Plus is wider than the iPad Pro 11", and the Tab S9 Ultra is wider than the iPad Pro 13" 🤷🏽♂️
But I like Apple pencil’s firm nib than Samsung’s soft stylus point.
Thanks for watching! Why do you prefer the apple pencil's firm nib?
There's the S-pen creator edition if you want that
@@_StarlightRose_ I’m a trying-hard wannabe artist who can’t seem to get sketches right. For now, any stylus or pen would do. I didn’t know Samsung has pen variants. Apple has no pencil crafted only for artists.
@@jingmatinong I’ve been using it for sometime.
If you're talking about the rubber tips you get from samsung s pen I 100% agree that's more so for writing than getting quick smooth lines which I just ordered plastic nibs from aliexpress it works really well
"And it took a month for a replacement to arrive" - well this wasn't shocking for Samsung at all 🤨
How was it from your end?
@brushimpact I don't have this particular tablet but I had an issue with Samsung customer service before, and I was not impressed, to say the least. Still, they make a damn good hardware, and the price for their gadgets are going down rather quickly opposing to Apple's.
Welche software (app) wird beim samsung gebraucht?
I use Clip Studio and Infinite Painter mostly for my Samsung tab S9
@@jingmatinong Thank you for the information, that is very kind
You're welcome!
This is Fe?
Nope
No it’s not Fe
Is this support Adobe illustration photoshop after effect?
the S9 does not support those softwares.
@@jingmatinong even the s9 ultra ?
Pretty sure the version you want is available only for computers
@hazelnut2028 Yeah as far as I know, computer versions only
How much is this tablet exactly 😅
In my country around 2,000 Dhs+
How much would that be in dollars
500 to 600 USD..depends on specifications
Wow 😳 that's a lot.
Thanks for your reply and I like your video 😊
You're welcome!
Not have Affinity Designer.
Haven’t tried it

What do you think of the S9’s art performance and stylus?
Wacom stylus (spen) is so badass ! So much better than any apple stylus
@@Dumbell-mx1fy Would love to hear your thoughts on what you liked about the pen 🖊️
Great review but iPad killer is a far stretch lol
Thank you for watching!
Stop yapping kid
It's obvious you've never tried a high-end Samsung. So don't come lying here.
What in the drone lol
lmao
Indeed, some of the apple products I use are close to 10 years old and still works well.
Nobody buys these
There is a product for everyone depending on their needs.
You can't even believe this nonsense yourself 😂😂😂 let me guess you're in the Apple cult
I got two, the s8 and s9
