I currently have the tab s8. I use mine for taking notes at work and watching youtube videos before i sleep. I am tempted to get the s9 but i think ill just wait it out as S8 is still a beast.
I have the Tab S9 and it is perfect for me, It came bundled with the Slim Keyboard and it works fine. I also have a Bluetooth mouse. I also have a 14 in external monitor (under $100.00) for when I need a larger monitor or when using Dex.
I was on the fence between the S9 and the S9 Plus because I use this tablet for reading music with a foot pedal. The price difference between the base and the plus drove me back to the base model. I did pre-order it and got a memory upgrade. With the Amoled display the smaller size works absolutely fine for reading music! The smaller size also works better from a portability standpoint. Bottom line for me the 11" was a very good choice and it is getting a lot of use now.
Great review. I've been missing the portability of a smaller tablet. I just ordered a Tab S9. They're giving me $500 trade-in for my S7fe plus giving me the 12/256 upgrade for free. I don't think I'll ever get that much for my S7fe if I wait. Along with other discounts It's just $260 out of pocket. I'm really excited! This will be my first flagship tab and first with an Amoled screen, I can't wait. Thanks, Zach!
@@Veeshalsingh01At most, just a very slight extra brightness along the top edge, similar to light bleed, on this video at lowest brightness. Nothing well defined or that I would have noticed without looking for it.
I am a proud owner of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and use it constantly. The function is great and the portability is, of course, awesome. However, I've had need of a larger device for portable, even laptop style activities. I have been considering for the past several months the Tab S9 series and when my daughter got the S9, I had to take a look. I was blown away by everything about it and it's literally double the screen size of my Fold! We took a trip over to Best Buy to see the differences in size for the 9, Plus & Ultra and I was most surprised. I thought I would really like the Ultra, but on handling it found it to be WAY too large for my desire. The Plus was very nice and a temptation, but the S9 just takes the cake for me! It fits my hand quite well and is amazingly fast in response to my touch. So, the decision was made: time to buy the S9. I asked at Best Buy if they had any open box units (I've had great success with previous buys like this), but they had none there. I went online and found it for a LOT less than retail!!! It will be arriving next Wednesday and for now I just sit and smile. 😁😁😁 Thanks for the good review and the verification that my decision is solid.
Thanks so much. It really means a lot. It's definitely a great device. And yes, they don't always have open box units in store, but they do have a lot online. Glad you were able to get a great deal
Isn’t DeX still limited to 1440p? That’s the main sticking point for me vs. an iPad. My holy grail is an 8” tablet with 4k60 output and a fully functional Linux terminal app.
Having 3 little girls at home. Within the first week owning the Tab S9 Ultra, I lost my S Pen. Would be nice if it locating feature. Must be lost anywhere in any corner of my house
I reviewed that, and also made a comparison on those tablets. I'm about to release a video in the next few weeks going over Galaxy Tab productivity too. Hope it helps
I'm going to be a contrarian here and say it's one of the more overrated features and often not worth the price it probably adds to an MSRP. The reason being is that they don't actually cover water damage in the warranty. Absent that protection, it seems pretty toothless. And IP ratings are, according to a video I saw from Jerry rig everything and Mr Mobile, only designed to last for one test. After that, the IP rating is neutered. Regular wear and tear can cause the same. And it's tested in mineral free water with controlled variables. So effectively you're paying for peace of mind you don't actually get.
Upgrading from a Tab S5e to an S9. It's crazy how much more you have to spend to get the same features. The S5e launched at 399 with quad speakers, an OLED screen, super thin & light, etc. So while you get the performance upgrades with a new tablet, it seems they realized there's not much room (point?) for actual innovation so instead they'll simply jack up the paywall for what used to come standard. There's no reason the FE, let alone lower models, shouldn't come with an OLED, quad speakers, etc. for what they sell for considering they used to be provided for much less except for the fact that then they'd have little incentive for people to buy the higher models.
Let me push back just a little bit. I will admit, for 399, that was a once in a lifetime type of deal. To get AMOLED at that price. Just remember though, that device had a lower refresh rate, that device had major Wi-Fi issues, even if you never noticed it. But if you use certain apps to test the Wi-Fi strength, simply covering up one of the corners of that tablet would cut off two bars off your Wi-Fi and I tested like 10 of these devices and proved it was an issue with all of them, on the S5e. That device had significantly worse RAM, worse, performance, no water resistance, Way less software updates, and I can go on and on. I didn't even mention no s pen, which is a $50 to $100 loss for a lot of people. It was a terrific value at the time. Because it did give decent performance for the money compared to other devices and it gave AMOLED. And a thin device. Those are the three things a lot of people wanted, so it satisfied a lot of people in the budget market. But you're missing some things. Quad speakers or not, the quality of the speakers on the FE I would say are directly on par with the S5e. You don't get OLED, but you get an s pen, you get a higher refresh rate. You get water resistance, the no amoled is already balanced out by new features EVEN in the mid-range. I get you would maybe prefer AMOLED, and again, that device really hit a sweet spot for you. I can 100% see why. But device makers all around, they are giving you other things for that value. The Google Pixel tablet was giving a speaker in the box, the OnePlus pad wasn't giving oled either, but it was giving incredible performance and a great price without sales. You have to remember that we have had massive inflation since the S5E too. So when Samsung is making that tablet, it was way cheaper for them to buy processors and other supplies. Whenever you buy a screen with a higher refresh rate, these other things, the costs go higher. My point is I don't think Samsung is penny pinching and I don't think they are making devices at a much lower cost than they used to. I think we are getting equivalent features just in a different way. But again, you have every right to not want to hire refresh rate and to not want an s pen. You have every right to prefer a headphone jack and an AMOLED screen. And if I were you trying to upgrade, I'd be frustrated if I had to compromise my AMOLED. Here's the good news, I just bought a Galaxy Tab S9 open box from Best Buy for like 500 bucks. Just only 100 extra bucks over what the S5e cost years ago. There are sales and open box excellent condition items that can get you what you need. Hopefully this rambling helps some lol
I know a lot of it comes down to preference and personal use, I just think it's ridiculous that a company that loves providing choice in their lineups is abandoning the one niche I happen to fall into and in which I know I'm not alone, when they used to serve it quite well. I have no interest in drawing or going swimming with my tablet so it's unfortunate my only options are to pay way more, go with a model that's a year or two old (and therefore has shorter support) or a refurb/used/opened device. I've consumed a ton of S9/FE content prior to my purchase and the vast majority of the display hype is about the colors/blacks. The refresh rate comes from many as an afterthought often only getting mentioned in the specs list. Media consumption isn't low on the list of popular uses for a tablet so I don't think it's a crazy ask for them to provide an option that caters to that without all the other bells and whistles. I do appreciate a high refresh rate and the fact people out there do want to draw and be able to drop their tablet in the toilet without it dying so it's great they have that option, but I wish Samsung would backtrack a bit with their "you have to buy everything if you want this one very popular thing for a very popular use case" marketing plan.
Thank you very much sir, this was a great review. I have been wanting the S9 Ultra, but the features and benefits of the smaller device you laid out very clearly. You did a great comparison of the different tablets. Still a lot for me to think about, but thank you for all this great information!
Great vid! I am a Samsung Tab S7 user and I use mine mostly for watching Hulu shows and movies on my lunch break. Not sure if its worth to upgrade just yet.
I was thinking of trading in my s7fe for the s9 when it launched but it was still a little too expensive to justify it even including the preorder offer but I'm glad i waited, samsung Canada is having a Thanksgiving flash sale where the 512gb s9 plus is cheaper than the s9, so it was a no brainer. After trade in and discount, got the 512gb s9 plus for $500 cad ($365 usd). Can't wait!
It’s gonna be my first tablet. The Dex mode seems great, I’m planning to practice a lot of writing ✍️ of Chinese language. Also, I saw you can configure it to code, of course, it’ll be not the same as computer, but it’s just so interesting 👍🏻
I'm gonna buy this Tab S9 around Januari next year if I have saved enough. It"ll be a very big upgrade from my Huawei Mediapad t3 10 (not using it anymore since sast year due to poor performance) that I have have for 5 and a half years now.
That's right about the time the tab S10 will come out too. Which could either lead to increased sales, to get rid of this before the launch, or it could lead to you getting fomo and getting the tab S10 instead. Normally they release these like every year and a half. So people are expecting an early year release of the next tablet.
If they made an 8" version with the same specs and AMOLED screen, id be 100% sold. That would be the perfect travel companion tablet. The ipad mini 6 has a trash screen
should i get the s9 or s9 fe plus??, i have the galaxy tab a 8.0 2019 with 32 gb and i just want a tablet that has more storage and better battery capacity, the s9 looks like a good choice but wondering if i should get it or not
Thanks!!! Awesome review!! I really wanted the ultra but Verizon only Carrie’s the s9 plus… however I think the s9 ultra is way to big for what I am wanting to use it for!! and I already have an amazing desktop setup! and in the process in building my new desktop system!!! So the s9 plus is perfect!’awesome review!!!! Rock on!’😊
Excellent video great points im looking at s9 maybe s9 plus. I have the duet 5 and when its in laptop mode its awesome buy tablet mode is big at 13.3 when im in working in the field.
I love this tablet, i just wish it had something like an 8 gen"+"2 since it was released in the middle of the year. I only paid around $520( not including taxes) for it. I traded in my s8 ultra. Thats a really good deal. I love playing codm on it, placing it on a cooling pad at 45 degrees while playing ( 6 finger claw). I also use it as a 2nd screen for my laptop when working with autocad. ,and also mirror it to the tv. Its a good tablet
Could you do a detailed video on how good galaxy s9 series is for productivity activity like using Office 365. Also do we get the full paid version of Office 365 as in Windows 11?
Not of the S9 model. The S9 FE has a 5G model available in some places, but you have to look specifically for it, and there's a 5g model of the S9 Plus.
@@AndroidDigest Thanks for the reply. I have checked recently. Looks like the S9 5G model (not FE) is available in some regions now. Also you have convinced me to buy one. Thanks 😁
Awesome, enjoy it! You know better than I do, I just haven't seen any S9 models in the US. But glad it's available in other regions, I'll keep that in mind!
Do you think it is worth to pay a little more for the s9 instead of the fe version? I was planning on buying the fe version bc I'll use it mainly for studying and sometimes drawing, but I also wanted a tablet with a big durability, I know that for now I don't need the power of the s9, but I wonder if the snapdragon chip will give me a lot of years more before it start lagging Edit: I am able to get the s9 for R$2700 (something like 550usd) and the s9 fe for R$2000 (400usd)
I'd get the Tab S9 in your shoes. I don't think the S9 FE will start lagging or anything, but if you plan to keep for a long long time, I say go with the S9, especially if you can afford it, but if you can't, don't feel bad, the FE is very capable.
I talked about the S9 Plus a little bit. It also doesn't have very many upgrades over the S9. The big upgrades you will see is a bigger keyboard cover, if you do end up wanting that, and you will also get an extra camera, and a bigger screen. I think it's the great middle ground between the S9 and the S9 Ultra. The regular S9 is super portable which is great, but it might be too small for some people. The S9 Ultra is great, but it really might be too big for some people, and too expensive. I think the S9 Plus is really a good place to settle for a lot of people. I plan to review it pretty soon
I never said I knew what was best for anyone. That's why I made the video in the first place. I did speak in general terms when I said that a lot of people would end up preferring the Tab S9 Plus. But in the end I can't say for each individual person. Every person is different. That's why I try to make a video like this to help people narrow things down for themselves.
I loved the S9 size and everything else, but the keyboard cover is really a struggle for me. Keys are too crammed. Did you have a chance to try the S9 Plus with its keyboard cover?
I haven't tried it yet. But I could tell you that I've tried the S8 Plus. It's definitely not crammed. The S9 Plus will be the same. It feels like a normal full keyboard. And the number keys are in the correct place. The only real difference with the tab S9 Plus keyboard will be that it's more rigid. So I can tell you if you're really into the keyboard cover, you will want the s9 plus or ultra. The plus is more than big enough
@AndroidDigest Thanks, man, I really appreciate that you took the time to respond! The insight about the keyboard size was really what I was looking for! Aside from my brother's iPad, which I only used 3 years ago, I haven't used a tablet since the first Samsung device released many years ago. I bought it, regreted immensily because the experience was absolutely horrible, and refrained from trying again until now. I really like the size of the S9, probably a little better than the S9+, but I will get the keyboard cover for free anyway... and the S9 keyboard, which I tried, is impossible to use. My hands are big, and I can't foresee me getting the hang of it at any point in the future. Also, the S9+ might be cool to use as a second screen, but in reality, those are questions that I will only be able to respond after trying.
Well I had a opportunity to get the S9 for $650.... Were the ultra at $700 no joke with tax 730Direct from Samsung. How to get the ultra I think I'll be happy with it and I do have a smaller tablet for on the go that's just the fire tab. But I'm excited and I feel like I got a steal.
Yeah I don't normally have that issue, but I do have an issue on occasion where typing "you" will cause me to miss the u. Especially if I type fast. One of the only bugs with it I've seen though. And the keyboard is crammed too.
I sent the keyboard to Samsung for manufacturer warranty. It seems like they will just replace it. Funny thing, the Tab S7 FE keyboard still works even after 2 years. Btw, Deal for $650 trade in on Samsung on. Tab S9 under $300 is a steal. they also got Tab s9 fe (with trade in lower price), but overall it will cost $150 & free cover for the lowest end config. Not sure if I should go with another FE tablet for the cover .
Sorry for the late response. I try to reply as quick as I can. It's really complicated. Everyone values things differently. You already have an amoled screen. Your display is NEARLY as good on the s8 plus as the s9. So you aren't gaining a ton from upgrading. If you upgrade you will get a more efficient processor, water resistance, and more software updates. Also you will get the trackpad keyboard, but from experience the trackpad keyboard on the s9 is pretty crammed. If you want a smaller and lighter tablet, absolutely, a great upgrade. If you are already wanting to downsize, a great upgrade. But if you enjoy the size of your tablet, I'd either stick with what you have or go with the S9 Plus. The S8 Plus and keeping it is the better value play. It's a great tablet, nothing wrong with it. But the S9 Plus has a more efficient processor and water resistance, if you value that, and an extra year of OS updates, if it's not too expensive I could see upgrading too. But what you have is a good place to be. The S8 Plus is nice.
Bro does the s9 plus keyboard cover work with s7 fe? Can you please check and tell. I want to buy keybboard cover for s7fe but that is not available only the one for s9 plus is available
No. It doesn't. Sorry! I know it's 3 weeks late. But the keyboard for the S9 Ultra doesn't work with the S8 Ultra. The S8 Ultra works with the S9 Ultra, but the back part of it doesn't fit due to the cameras. Same principals should apply. The S9 plus keyboard won't work with the FE, but it may work the other way around.
Most printers nowadays are wireless, sometimes you have to download some plug ins for the printer through the play store but it will work. Otherwise, you would need to use a usb-c hub or something to conenct a printer.
The new Samsung DeX that just released is. But you can still use the classic dex by changing it in the settings. And the classic Dex will adjust the resolution based on your monitor. It won't do screen mirroring and even allows you to use your tablet separately. (There is some setting that turns the tablet blurry when you're typing in Dex) But it has something to do with a setting for Dex that has virtual keyboards to to the tablet. There's a way to turn it off. And you can use both at the same time. Long answer. But if you use classic dex you are not limited
It's literally just about size. The S9 is more portable, the S9 Plus has better keyboard case options. For example: I've really been enjoying the Dexnor keyboard case, the case for the regular S9 has smaller keys, it's good enough for some typing sessions, but it's not like a normal keyboard. The keys on the S9 Plus keyboard cover are just a little bigger, and that can make a difference. If you're a keyboard cover person and you really want more size on the keys of a keyboard, that can make a huge difference. So the S9 is great for light productivity and portability. The S9 Plus is a good middle ground that gives you a closer size to the S9 Ultra without the bulk, and it's big enough to get heavier productivity sessions done, Plus, if you like entertainment you may just want a larger screen. I can't say what's right for you, if you aren't sure maybe check them out on display at best buy or something. But one is lighter, one is heavier with a slightly bigger screen, very small differences with ram in the base model, things like that, but they are virtually identical. I just think it's a preference thing.
@@AndroidDigest thank you. I'm buying tablet just for social media, Netflix and for my workations as a secondary display, as for othertasks I have PC and a laptop. I was thinking on getting iPad mini, but iPad is so outdated compared to Samsung and waiting till 2024 Q4 for new version is a risky thing because Apple might release new iPad mini with 60hz screen. Also you can't use iPad as a secondary display - I know there are like third party apps, but spending additional money to have what Samsung provides for free makes no sense, I'm a bit mad at Apple. So for portability S9 seems like an obvious choice, but then S9+ could be used as a secondary display, sometimes I travel for workations and having only a laptop for me is an issue I need a second screen and I'm tired of bringing my samsumg 22" monitor with me everywhere I travel. It takes a lot of space in my car, inconvenient to set up, I have to carry even a screwdriver to tighten bolts on monitor stand 😀 In Lithuania we have official Samsung stores, so I guess I'll go to that store, will grab myself some snaks and coffee and play around with thesetwo tablets.
Already have a phone so 1 cam on tab s9 will not be a problem.. tab s9 is a better option for me.. its a bit handy compare to plus and ultra.. just sayin
Not too normal, no. Sometimes that can depend on the app or the internet connection, but it's not too normal to be honest.. I didn't notice it at least.
Yes. Best Buy sells the s pen in white and black. Just make sure it's a specific replacement for the Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus, or S9 Ultra. Feel free to use one of my links to get to Best Buy and just search for it there.. that will still give me credit for it. But it is at Best Buy. I don't have time to make an affiliate link but here is a link straight to it if you want to know what to search www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6549940.p?skuId=6549940 And if you don't use an affiliate link, no big deal. I would probably only get a buck from it anyway 😂😂. But hopefully this helps
Samsung only has 3 years of software updates on this tab, not 4 years according to Samsung, for now. There is no official statement on this. But if you talk to a samsung expert, they will quote exactly this: "I would like to inform you that you will get 3 OS updates and 5 security updates with Tab S9."
That is actually false. Samsung themselves has confirmed 4 years of Android OS updates here: news.samsung.com/us/samsung-galaxy-tab-s9-sets-new-standard-to-bring-galaxys-premium-experience-to-tablet-unpacked-2023/ You will see it's 4 years of OS and One UI updates. Never trust the random customer service reps from the middle of nowhere, who don't even know the products or use them. They are pretty bad helping with pretty much everything and they only go off scripts.
@@AndroidDigest thank you for clarifying. I wonder why they said that to me when I asked them through official channels. I asked samsung support in India. But thanks for the reference. Will go through it And yes I agree, the folks selling the device don't know much about it at all.
samsung now supports 4 yrs OS and 5 yrs security updates for all Galaxy S, Z, watches and A devices. If im not mistaken, they made the announcement last 2022 which included devices from 2021 such as the S21 series.
@@serge0251 yes I was always under the same impression, until someone mentioned that it is different for India, and I thought why is that. And then I asked a samsung expert via the official samsung shop and they qouted 3 years of software support and 5 years of security updates. I guess they are wrong
Yes actually. I'm unique though. I do buy and sell my tabs pretty often to cycle through them for reviews. But in a few weeks I'm going to be releasing an updated Tab S9 review video. I'm very much enjoying it, and it's so nice to get almost every feature this year compared to the bigger models
It depends on what you do on your laptop. If you don't run any windows programs specifically, if you just use the web browser and do word processing, use google docs, then sure. But if you play windows games, if you do windows specific stuff, than no. You also may need to get a bigger bluetooth keyboard for those big productive days. But yeah, it just depends on what you do.
I sometimes use both. I use google chrome and then install the web app through the settings. They did recently change their app version though to be a little better for tablet screens, they just didn't stretch it out quite as far, so it's a little improved over what it was.
Technically the tab S9 will have better screen quality. Because it's smaller so it doesn't have to spread the image onto a larger display. And it's AMOLED just like the tab S9 Ultra. The only negative is that it's a little bit less bright than the Ultra. Like 600 versus 900 nits peak brightness. I'm thinking off the top of my head here As far as the brightness levels. But that's the only significant difference. And to me it's honestly pretty minor. Outside of that the screen quality will be the same or even better on the S9
That really depends on what you prefer. I'd say the biggest question you have to ask yourself is what size of tablet do you actually want. The S8 ultra isn't faster than the S9. The S9 has water resistance. The S9 has a more efficient processor, it will get more software updates in the end at this point since it's newer. So the real question is, what size of tablet do you want? If you prefer or want a smaller tablet, sure, the S9. But you often pay for screen size with tablets. That's why the tab S9 Ultra has almost the same features as the tab S9. But you're paying so much more for it. The S8 ultra is tremendous, I reviewed that recently, like a refreshed review, but It's all about what type of size you're looking for
You can download some Android versions of Adobe apps. Not full windows versions. So you just have to look in the playstore You can always try downloading them on your phone to get a glimpse of what they are like.
Well the S9+ will be miles ahead, but it costs way more too. AMOLED Screen vs no amoled. A lot more performance. And a better refresh rate, a bluetooth s pen. But again, it's not needed for a lot of people who just need to do the basics.
It's always so hard to get good video of a screen, sometimes one screen might look better but it's just the video lighting. Hard to get it right, so hope I did okay here. But yes, it's really really good looking. Way better than the Tab S8.
I agree with you. It can be for a lot of people. I argued that in my S9 Ultra review. But there's two sides to everything. The biggest reason to buy it is the screen size. And some people would prefer to have a smaller more portable device. So for those people, spending an extra $400 is just too much. Especially when they will think it's too big anyway. Some people would literally prefer the S9 even if it were the same price. But there are a lot of people who will fall in love with the S9 Ultra because of the screen size. It's amazing to have a large screen too. I loved the S9 Ultra. It depends on the person. My goal in making a video like this is for people like you to say "actually I love the S9 Ultra screen size" and for the S9 users who love it to say "good idea, I'll get the S9". I want you both to find the right devices for you, even if they aren't the same.
@@AndroidDigest that's true, moreover if I had to choose between investing in laptop or tablet, I would definitely choose the tablet because it has the same tools (WiFi, Bluetooth, sound, image, microphone, headset...) as of now I own only a galaxy tab a7 lite and almost three months later, I'm satisfied because it runs smoothly, I know that Android, Mac OS have a Linux kernel, whereas Windows 11 has not
There is really not difference in the pen that the naked eye can see. The "improvement in pen lantency" thing is a gimmick. The pen is already so smooth it doesn't need an improvement. Basically the only real noticable difference is the oled screen.
Thanks everyone for the love on the video! You can buy a Tab S9 here: howl.me/cku14Ij1HvC and that's a great way to support my channel!

I love (and share) your enthusiasm for the S9. I have been very pleased with mine.
Yeah, it's definitely a great device!
Are you facing any display issues in low brightness?
Haven't noticed anything yet. What kind of issue?
@@kenweber2162 on low brightness while watching the video do you see any line on the top end of the video?
Love that hard shell case and handle. I just ordered the s9. I can't wait. I bought the 256g storage with 12gb ram. Comes this Tuesday. 👍👏
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
That's why I went with the s9 and got a 4k 27 inch monitor for the price difference of the plus.
Pretty cool idea
Definitely a good idea. You can have a small screen when you want it and a large one when you need it.
Great idea does dex scale well on that 4k 27inch display?
Isn’t DeX still limited to 1440p? That’s the main sticking point for me vs. an iPad. My holy grail is an 8” tablet with 4k60 output and a fully functional Linux terminal app.
@@altosack Dex is 4k enabled since One UI 5, but it is a headache to make it work via Multistar.
Having 3 little girls at home. Within the first week owning the Tab S9 Ultra, I lost my S Pen. Would be nice if it locating feature. Must be lost anywhere in any corner of my house
Yeah, that's a bummer! Gotta watch that pen with the kids.
I have been tossing up if I want to upgrade or not. Your review has been a great help. If I do upgrade it will be to the s9 plus.
I reviewed that, and also made a comparison on those tablets. I'm about to release a video in the next few weeks going over Galaxy Tab productivity too. Hope it helps
Water resistance is huge.
Yeah it's definitely a big deal!
Am I the only one that ordered the white one? Also does that make me racist?
@@michaelcorcoran8768event iphone doesnt have water damage waranty, so what ur deal?
Definitely racist. @@nickarganbright7218

Great vid! I am a Samsung Tab S7 user and I use mine mostly for watching Hulu shows and movies on my lunch break. Not sure if its worth to upgrade just yet.
I hear you. I'd recommend it soon. They offer a lot more software updates now, so it's a good time to upgrade soon
Can't wait!
I was able to buy the Tab S9 Plus for about $700, I think it was worth it for that price,
That's a steal for sure. A great tab for the money.
Yeay just got mine yesterday
Hope you enjoy it
It’s gonna be my first tablet. The Dex mode seems great, I’m planning to practice a lot of writing ✍️ of Chinese language. Also, I saw you can configure it to code, of course, it’ll be not the same as computer, but it’s just so interesting 👍🏻
Awesome. I hope you enjoy it!
@@AndroidDigest Good to know

I already did actually. Check it out in one of my most recent videos, funny you mention this, literally a video I did 2 videos ago.
Nice video! Is there a 5G version for the S9 base model (not the FE)? Thanks.
But glad it's available in other regions, I'll keep that in mind!
hi, can you provide the link to buy TAB S9 back cover. its really looked beautiful.
Sorry for the late response. If you are referring to the outdoor cover, you can get one here: howl.me/clLfF9sOoFP
Do you think it is worth to pay a little more for the s9 instead of the fe version? I was planning on buying the fe version bc I'll use it mainly for studying and sometimes drawing, but I also wanted a tablet with a big durability, I know that for now I don't need the power of the s9, but I wonder if the snapdragon chip will give me a lot of years more before it start lagging
Edit: I am able to get the s9 for R$2700 (something like 550usd) and the s9 fe for R$2000 (400usd)
I'd get the Tab S9 in your shoes. I don't think the S9 FE will start lagging or anything, but if you plan to keep for a long long time, I say go with the S9, especially if you can afford it, but if you can't, don't feel bad, the FE is very capable.
9 plus is just damn right for me 😂
Yeah, it's perfect in my eyes.
So... What about the S9 Plus?
I talked about the S9 Plus a little bit. It also doesn't have very many upgrades over the S9. The big upgrades you will see is a bigger keyboard cover, if you do end up wanting that, and you will also get an extra camera, and a bigger screen. I think it's the great middle ground between the S9 and the S9 Ultra. The regular S9 is super portable which is great, but it might be too small for some people. The S9 Ultra is great, but it really might be too big for some people, and too expensive. I think the S9 Plus is really a good place to settle for a lot of people. I plan to review it pretty soon
Is Pokemon Go available on this tablet? And can this tablet clone pokemon go like Xiaomi phones?
How can you tell what's best for me???????
Good review.
Thanks so much
Well I had a opportunity to get the S9 for $650.... Were the ultra at $700 no joke with tax 730Direct from Samsung. How to get the ultra I think I'll be happy with it and I do have a smaller tablet for on the go that's just the fire tab. But I'm excited and I feel like I got a steal.
For sure! Hope you enjoy it!
S8 ultra at 650....same price o paid for ipad pro m2 11 inch. Bec S8 ultra only has 2 more years of OS update, i cant reasonably buy s8 ultra
Yeah, that's why it's tougher to get the S8 Ultra. No water resistance, less updates. I get why you'd want an iPad or S9 instead
Are there issues like the s23, that Wochenende have ufs 3.1 with 128gb and 4.0 with 256 gb ?
Tab s9 may be good but can't say same for keyboards. A letter is typed 3 times, space also. - used tab s9 to write, detaching the keyboard
Just got it for $480 in India during a sale
Great deal
The deal breaker for me was the lack of a cellular model in the US.
Yeah, the S9 Plus is good for that, or the S9 FE has a cellular model with some carriers
my only issue with amoled is the unnatural flickering
I personally don't see any of that, but sorry you're having to deal with that!
Is it normal for this tablet to lose 12 percent battery in 1 hour and 26 minutes? I just wrote and took notes.
That's almost 13 hours of battery life you would get if the battery kept going at that pace. Very very good battery life
@@AndroidDigest Thank you for the answer
If you get the LTE for the sim card, can you use the sim card to make normal phone calls with it? (Like the Tab A8 LTE had). thanks
I wouldn't expect that you'd be able to, but I do think that may be a carrier question, it depends on how the carrier views the device.
PLS REPLY
I own tab s8+ with slim keyboard for free (gift from customer) and is it worth trading it for tab S9 with trackpad keyboard? Thx so much😊
Sorry for the late response.

Is the dex limited to screen mirroring when using an external display?
The new Samsung DeX that just released is. But you can still use the classic dex by changing it in the settings. And the classic Dex will adjust the resolution based on your monitor. It won't do screen mirroring and even allows you to use your tablet separately. (There is some setting that turns the tablet blurry when you're typing in Dex) But it has something to do with a setting for Dex that has virtual keyboards to to the tablet. There's a way to turn it off. And you can use both at the same time. Long answer. But if you use classic dex you are not limited
@@AndroidDigest thank you!
Did you get the 128GB or the 256?
I was using 256GB
I have a galaxy A9+ 11
Inch its big enough for me
Glad you're enjoying it
Is it good for trade?
I'm not really sure what you mean by that.
I can’t decide between s9 and s9+. Budget is not a concern for me.
The S9 Plus is a good middle ground that gives you a closer size to the S9 Ultra without the bulk, and it's big enough to get heavier productivity sessions done,
Plus, if you like entertainment you may just want a larger screen.
It takes a lot of space in my car, inconvenient to set up, I have to carry even a screwdriver to tighten bolts on monitor stand 😀
In Lithuania we have official Samsung stores, so I guess I'll go to that store, will grab myself some snaks and coffee and play around with thesetwo tablets.

Bruh that's just a steam deck OLED lol
I hear you. A lot of people are wanting a smaller tablet
The keyboard should be back-lit. That will be a huge win.
For sure. At least it is on the ultra, but maybe next year? We can hope
Already have a phone so 1 cam on tab s9 will not be a problem.. tab s9 is a better option for me.. its a bit handy compare to plus and ultra.. just sayin
I hear you!
Does it have the galaxy AI??
It has most of the Galaxy Ai features coming to it, yes. It has some now and more will expand in the future.
My s9's frame rate drops/stutters when watching higher res videos is this normal???
Not too normal, no. Sometimes that can depend on the app or the internet connection, but it's not too normal to be honest.. I didn't notice it at least.
Is it possible to buy tab in black but s pen white in box
I don't have time to make an affiliate link but here is a link straight to it if you want to know what to search

And if you don't use an affiliate link, no big deal. I would probably only get a buck from it anyway 😂😂. But hopefully this helps
Will this have 5g in the states?
Not sure. I know the Plus model does if you buy the 5G specific version, but not this one yet that I know of.
Samsung only has 3 years of software updates on this tab, not 4 years according to Samsung, for now. There is no official statement on this. But if you talk to a samsung expert, they will quote exactly this:
"I would like to inform you that you will get 3 OS updates and 5 security updates with Tab S9."
That is actually false. Samsung themselves has confirmed 4 years of Android OS updates here: news.samsung.com/us/samsung-galaxy-tab-s9-sets-new-standard-to-bring-galaxys-premium-experience-to-tablet-unpacked-2023/
You will see it's 4 years of OS and One UI updates.
Will go through it
And yes I agree, the folks selling the device don't know much about it at all.
samsung now supports 4 yrs OS and 5 yrs security updates for all Galaxy S, Z, watches and A devices.
Are you still using the tab?
Yes actually. I'm unique though. I do buy and sell my tabs pretty often to cycle through them for reviews. But in a few weeks I'm going to be releasing an updated Tab S9 review video. I'm very much enjoying it, and it's so nice to get almost every feature this year compared to the bigger models
@AndroidDigest Happy to hear that! Just got a refurbished tab s9 recently. Most videos on it were during its release.
Will tab s9 can replace my laptop?
It depends on what you do on your laptop. If you don't run any windows programs specifically, if you just use the web browser and do word processing, use google docs, then sure. But if you play windows games, if you do windows specific stuff, than no. You also may need to get a bigger bluetooth keyboard for those big productive days. But yeah, it just depends on what you do.
Is the twitter aka X, you are using, web version? The app version is just a stretched out phone app.
I sometimes use both. I use google chrome and then install the web app through the settings. They did recently change their app version though to be a little better for tablet screens, they just didn't stretch it out quite as far, so it's a little improved over what it was.
@@AndroidDigest thanks for your valuable input
How much is it?
Went over pricing in the video. $800 US
Is the screen quality of Tab S9 and Tab S9 Ultra the same?
Technically the tab S9 will have better screen quality. Because it's smaller so it doesn't have to spread the image onto a larger display. And it's AMOLED just like the tab S9 Ultra. The only negative is that it's a little bit less bright than the Ultra. Like 600 versus 900 nits peak brightness. I'm thinking off the top of my head here As far as the brightness levels. But that's the only significant difference. And to me it's honestly pretty minor. Outside of that the screen quality will be the same or even better on the S9
The Samsung Tab S9 is nice but it offers no data plan. That is very dissapointing....
Yeah, the S9 Plus has a 5G model which is nice. But yeah no 5G on the S9 so far. At least that I've seen.
S8 ultra for 700 euros or s9 for 600 euros?
That really depends on what you prefer. I'd say the biggest question you have to ask yourself is what size of tablet do you actually want. The S8 ultra isn't faster than the S9. The S9 has water resistance. The S9 has a more efficient processor, it will get more software updates in the end at this point since it's newer. So the real question is, what size of tablet do you want? If you prefer or want a smaller tablet, sure, the S9. But you often pay for screen size with tablets. That's why the tab S9 Ultra has almost the same features as the tab S9. But you're paying so much more for it. The S8 ultra is tremendous, I reviewed that recently, like a refreshed review, but It's all about what type of size you're looking for
I got mine. The store guy told me that it support adobe products. But now I don't know how to install the windows photoshop. Have you tried it?
You can download some Android versions of Adobe apps. Not full windows versions. So you just have to look in the playstore You can always try downloading them on your phone to get a glimpse of what they are like.
And S9 v A9+?
Well the S9+ will be miles ahead, but it costs way more too. AMOLED Screen vs no amoled. A lot more performance. And a better refresh rate, a bluetooth s pen. But again, it's not needed for a lot of people who just need to do the basics.
gonna replacing my Xiaomi pad6 with s9 soon.
It's a nice upgrade, enjoy!
That screen is beautiful!
It's always so hard to get good video of a screen, sometimes one screen might look better but it's just the video lighting. Hard to get it right, so hope I did okay here. But yes, it's really really good looking. Way better than the Tab S8.
That’s a lot of NITS?
I was imagining the response you put in this voice: th-cam.com/video/3PbE3k9LG9A/w-d-xo.html
@@AndroidDigest I made a typo. Instead of NITS? It should have been NITS!
he kinda looks like keemstar
I've heard that a time or two
It's definitely worth buying the s9 ultra
@@AndroidDigest that's true, moreover if I had to choose between investing in laptop or tablet, I would definitely choose the tablet because it has the same tools (WiFi, Bluetooth, sound, image, microphone, headset...) as of now I own only a galaxy tab a7 lite and almost three months later, I'm satisfied because it runs smoothly, I know that Android, Mac OS have a Linux kernel, whereas Windows 11 has not
I love you
Haha. Hey I appreciate the love
You need to get a room with the tablet.... lmao
True
I'd rather get a laptop than a S9 Ultra
I don't blame you, it's expensive
Samsung leaving T-Mobile and Google Fi out in the cold is a deal breaker. It's 2023, why are we still fiddling with carrier locked devices?
You can still buy an unlocked version I believe with the S9 Plus.
The camera doesn't just look different. It is a different camera.
There is really not difference in the pen that the naked eye can see. The "improvement in pen lantency" thing is a gimmick. The pen is already so smooth it doesn't need an improvement. Basically the only real noticable difference is the oled screen.
I agree with you that it's not too noticeable. I never noticed it with the original Tab S8, felt the same as all the others.
