So refreshing to see the quality brush painting. With so much dependants on air rushing hand painting is becoming a lost art. Beautiful little model and a great tribute to the original. Well done
That’s quite some build, the modifications are especially impressive. I’ve seen the trio you’ve modelled in the museum and watching your builds it’s excellent to see so many details👌.
Wonderful!! What a great piece of modelling I am so very impressed with your skills. Of course it being a tiny Land Rover helps as it’s such an important car(?). Bob England
Nice conversion and looks like a fairly straightforward one too as conversion projects go. Recently I saw one of the last Defender special editions built to commemorate HUE 166. I built the 43rd scale Airfix E-Type earlier this year and that's a little jewel of a kit; this one is equally nice.
Good job! I'm building the same Land Rover right now, but from the box. No modifications. I would like to clarify that the masking tape will not hold for a long time. The glue dries and the masking tape will turn into a regular sheet.
Super conversion. Personally, I wouldn't trust the adhesive on the masking tape for the canvas parts, but I suppose it is reasonably easy to replace if it dries out. I have one of the kits to build, but I think that I shall do it more or less 'out of the box' as a production model. Thanks for the video and best wishes.
Thanks, George. I'll let you know how the tape does but it seems to be holding up. As you say, it won't be difficult to replace. I also considered using bandage material but I worried it wouldn't look to scale. Good luck with yours - it's a fun little build.
That kit you had was potentialy a future collectable if unassembled. A small number of the original run were made incorrectly as the box art depicts an incorrect reg number RYD 436 whereas the original vehicle -on display at Dunsfold - is RYD 463 (if you look at the supplied decals they will confirm this ) The mistake was spotted and rectified quickly but a small number made it to release before being spotted and if still boxed and unassembled will be very rare in future. 🙂
Great build and a nice kit but WHY OH WHY IS IT 1/43 ??? 😢 What can I get to go with it? If I use 1/48 figures my diorama shows a land rover stolen by children and with 1/35 it's being driven by Andre the Giant doing military service! THINK NEXT TIME AIRFIX!!!
All the new car range is 1/43 which works well given how popular it is as a car scale in resin/diecast kits. I'm enjoying them as they're a lot cheaper than the resin kits and easier to work with.
@jeffholt9437 plenty of 1:43 dioramas out there, which still sit on a shelf. Don't think many are being driven around much, but guess 1:32 caters well for slot cars and plane/military.
That is a very nice conversion!

Thanks very much! I have always enjoyed adding the details with a brush - I really appreciate what you said! Cheers.
Great job Thomas, really like the work you did on this Land Rover. Well done 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks so much, Karl

Thank you 😊 sadly the Jaguar has been moved so those three are only together in my display cabinet now!

Nice work converting the kit to look like the original. Thanks for the video !😎
Excellent customisation, your scratch building skills are very good. Your miniature motor museum is coming along nicely I think :) model on
Thanks very much, Sarah Jane. I like challenging myself to create something from the raw materials.

Very nice build and well done modifications. Those 1/43 scale car kits are so small😀
Thanks very much! Small they are but I find building these kits is a great little 'snack' in-between longer projects.
very well done. whats next for the scratch building project? :)

Oh wow. I had no idea - I guess I've made it a little bit rarer
Nice model. Hue was the first production Land Rover, not pre-production. It was sold to a farmer, I believe in Warwickshire.

@@retrosperspective Absolutely fine if you like your models lined up on the shelf.....

@@retrosperspective And figures?
@@jeffholt9437 yeah loads of 1:43 figures out there, just not eccsarily military as 1:43 is automotive scale
