      That's not an ugly gap, it's a design feature, part of what makes every landy unique.

    I'm a complete amateur and only do gundams. That 6:12 part about smoothing things out with thin cement is a godsend advice.
    Things I learn from here rarely get used to the models I prefer to work on, but are surprisingly good to know every now and then. Thank you man.

    It looks awesome. Kind of reminds me of my old 1970 Forn Bronco. It was a flat medium green, with a flat white hard top. Underneath that flat green was a worn out orange color. The truck was former power line chaser for Florida Power & Light. Loved that truck, she wasnt pretty. But she always got me were ever wanted to go and back home again. Especially when off roading out in the Florida water mangement areas. Good job with this weather process. On the little land rover.

    I don't if I'm ever actually going to use anything I've learnt from watching your videos, I just find them very entertaining.

    That's quite an accurate model . It's got Salisbury axles that on the real series land rovers and the defenders was a heavy duty axle . And the tyres where a military tire fitted to series 2a and 3 108 inch and 88 inch airportible lightweight land rovers . They went out of production but another company has started making them for british military land rover owners. Loving the channel thank you. 👍

    A cracking video and workmanship👍✌️💜😊 I dont live too far away from Ledbury and that Land Rover reminds me of Land Rovers that my dad and others owned, hard working, beat up vehicles, from the 1970s and 1980s.
    Yellow is always a challenge as its a "warning colour" for humans and animals, as is red, orange etc, so the eye is drawn to it, thus it has to be treated with respect. You've done a marvelous job of it👍✌️💜😊
    Im working on two yellow railway vans, they require similar treatment, and Ive employed filters (to replicate cement dust), weathering and water colour pencils, Ive also used fibre brushing to age the branding (lettering), false shading, Gouache and trompe l'œil. Im always wary of modelling these "warning colours", but when shaded, weathered etc, they turn out okay, albeit they take more work than other colours, hues and tones.
    I thought about purchasing one of those cutters, but like you I suspect Id use it very infrequently - but when used theyre worth their weight in gold? Im still undecided 🤔🤔
    I also use acrylic markers, Im tempted by the new AK versions - so Ill give them a look👍👍
    Great work, great video ✌️👍😊

    Awesome build, thanks for sharing that. You can easily mask those hazard striping by using for example 1mm masking tape. You just place them diagonally directly adjacent to each other, the you remove every second strip to get a perfect pattern.

    Watching your skillful crafting is somewhat like watching an object IRL left to rot in front of a time-lapse camera. Your attention to 'asymmetrical weathering' is a subtle but telling testament to your skill. I'm just blown away, as usual, by your talent, Martin. I've seen the dioramma video too, and this project is just amazing.

    • @negotiableaffections
      @negotiableaffections 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A challenge for you. . . We know ship models are too small, scale wise, to make them interesting models but if you, perhaps, scratch built a piece of a ship, ferry etc as the dioramma part of a project and integrated models into the scene it would open up more oppportunites for creative weathering.
      Ambitious as ever, I'm imagining a sinking ferry shedding its load into the water or onto [and damaging] the dock. You up for a challenge like that, Martin?

    The more I think about it, the more I want to see Night Shift do a German heavy. Something like Trumpeters 1/35th scale E-100 with the fictional krupp turret design, or a Tiger II with a factory fresh turret paint job but a complete hull camoflage paint.
    I'd also love to see you do more modern armor, preferable NATO MBTs as they have so much space for stuff to be tossed on them

  • @willjones1696
    @willjones1696 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Really cool trick I learned from a man wiser than myself (my grandad), is to lay down the mask or stencil, then apply a thin layer of clear varnish, then spray the colour. Prevents bleeding under the mask and makes it much cleaner when removing the mask. Literally life changing knowledge here.

  • @jeffholt9437
    @jeffholt9437 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    "Oi - who are you? **** off!" My word Night Shift, this real life reference stuff you do for your models will get you in trouble one of these days - I'm going to watch the bloopers at the end to see you chased off by dogs....! 😊
    Anyway - brilliant work, as usual. To remove the seam line on those rubber tyres you could put the tyre on drill and sand it as it revolves....

Saw an amazing use on a Workshop Recorder vid, for a VW delivery van project (5 year old vid). The difference i saw was large area vs fine detailing/small area. Now i want to try both and see how they come out. Appreciate your time, patience, and videos
