Very nice Thomas, good personal interpretation! Love the improvised roof rack, i have used old bits of sprue to make roll cages. How long did this build take? You are churning them out.
Thanks a lot, Paul. Yeah, I did that with the RX-7 build. I just checked and this one took 8 days which is pretty crazy. I think it helped that the decals were minimal, there's no clear coat and no polishing. 😁
Love the handmade bullbar, winch, and roof rack, by the way I have italery merc 230 G class Paris Dakar rally converted to camel trophy still in progress 😌....
iconic car, I remember watching all serieas of Camel Tropy in my childhood. Wish I build same to have in my collection. once again you did great work and usefull video. thanks and keep it coming with such iconic models. thanks
Thank you so much, Richard. I like building significant vehicles with interesting stories. There's a Camel Trophy Discovery at a museum near me and I always thought it looked so impressive.
Thomas, your modeling skills have grown rapidly! This build looks incredible!!! Love your improvised scratch built parts are amazing. A model to be proud of .
👍Wonderful, I have more respect for all model makers whose parts do not come from the 3D printer. What you see here is still real craftsmanship, real model-making art.💯 What Colors did you use for the Body?
Thank you for the kind words! So, it's mid grey primer and then Tamiya Camel yellow. The yellow is a little bright as it's meant for the F1 cars but the grey primer dulled it down a little.
Another great model! Your scratchbuilding skills and weathering came in handy for this build. I was a fan of the Camel Trophy in my childhood in the 80s. They were rough! This is a kit I wouldn't mind having in my stash at all 😀
Many thanks - if you wanted to build one like this, Aoshima have done a version with roof rack and bull bars included but unfortunately that wasn't the kit for the competition.
Did you know the 5 door Range Rover was only used in the 1987 Camel Trophy?

Thank you very much - it took a lot of planning. I've seen that kit - sounds like a great idea.
@@BOABModels yay...I prefer the camel trophy G classe " what if" than the original sunauto yamaha decals😀
This is such a nice build well done - I want to do one now haha, well in a long time so that I don’t remember how good yours is.
Very kind, Anthony. Yeah, you should! I hope that mine has given you some good ideas!
Top job. Nice little tip for taking off the side trims 👍👍
Thanks a lot Chris. Yeah, I was really nervous doing that!
Very nice work. Isn't super glue a wonderful thing.
Cheers - yes, I would have struggle to add some of the extras without it!
I may have missed it, but what pigment are you using for the dirt effects?
I forgot to mention - it's Humbrol rust powder.

Many many thanks, Richard. I had an idea in my head and I'm glad it turned out as I wanted it to. 😁
Weighted Greek Owl a subtle detail 😁
You mean you don't have one? My next video will be a beginner's guide to the weighted Greek owl.
It'll be a hoot.
What did you use for the dirt?
It was Humbrol rust powder.
I would like to see the first gen Honda CR-V made by you, as it was also the second car that participated in that Camel Trophy
Honda have made some cool off roaders.

Looks awesome and great scratch building Thomas!
Thank you Shawn! I'm glad it turned out.
👏👌👍
😁👍
Your Range Roveer turned out Great!!!! Love the light weathering. Nicely Done!!!!
Many thanks, Mike. I'm still a bit nervous about heavy weathering I think 😅
A great build! I like the idea of a Trophy car conversion. A rare stuff in model world I suppose.
Thanks mate - I've seen a Trophy Discovery at the British Motor Museum and always wanted to make one like it.
Great build. Also got this set in backlog but would not expect it can be done like that. Nice!
Thank you very much - I like to customise if I can!
What an absolutely fantastic job! Hope it does well in the Kent Models build off!
Thank you very much, Simon. Fingers crossed!
Very nice build! Your solutions for the bull bar and roof rack were brilliant.
Many thanks, Joe. I plan to turn those into how to videos so hopefully I can help people in the future.
