    I honestly wish that people would have seen Daniel back in 2005, then in 2012-2014 and now, see the evolution of Daniel’s game and the thought process. It’s actually scary. I think the Doug heads-up was one of the best things to ever happen and the evolution of Daniel is not over yet. This channel is 💎

      Yea his progression hasnt slowed down and its all do.to adaptation and being extremely humble in the poker game....online game producing drastically diiff atmosphere, different style of gambling, And more.players. than u have GTO and modern poker theory regardless your opinion on it. All the factors the is in the game now. He tries to comprehend,.study, prarice, and plays the gsme according to how its olayed overall.....NOT what u thank how it shouod he played.

      Doug won and DESTROYED dan onlinee.... But thats 2 table play, cant read opponent and just straight GTO n just completely different and dan weakest spot is online especially quickly making decisions with 2 tables at the same time
      Heads up and also in 6 person in play tournament. Daniel took home like 2 million n doug broke even or lost too him n they groios again
      Historically think dan got him in peraon whole onlijr he just cant compete

      @@Johnny_Thunder he was never a fish, you can’t be at the top of the winning scale and be a fish. That river bet is pretty bad b/c it narrows you're calling range to basically just sets unless he's just been playing like a maniac all night. I probably couldn't find a fold with a set but really good players might b/c there's literally no other hand he could have unless you're playing the 27 game. You guys really should bring that back b/c it adds a neat dynamic to the game.

    Raise the flop ? I guess I don’t feel great potentially having to call 3 pot sized bets from JRB with one pair. I can hear hellmuth playing this hand the exact same way with some line about JRB giving him the money and being bailed out on the river lol

    • @mjriemen
      @mjriemen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not just that its one pair, its that JRB’s range can be betting for value with one pair that beats Daniel’s one pair.
      On the flop either JRB is bluffing or Daniel is beat. JRB probably isn’t 3 betting and then betting flop with many worse Ace-X hands.
      If JRB has him beat, raising is foolish. If hes beating JRB, a raise will just get JRB to fold. So no raise…

  • @jppagetoo
    @jppagetoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Every broadway and decent pocket pair hand except AQ came in. A pair of aces is a bluff catcher. Pocket queens is maybe the only in range holding that aces beat but is partially blocked. I didn't hate his overbet seems like what you do if you missed the river, but what could he have missed on that board? It drilled JRB range perfectly.

  • @LiamSBrown
    @LiamSBrown 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m mean this pretty standard and is an easy fold, there are a couple bluffs a few combos of Q10s, K10s, JQs that may take this line at some frequency but Daniel said he just has some much value on this board, and also being the 3-bet caller you have a lot of better hands to call with for example JJ, 99s, AJs.

  • @CanadianLoveKnot
    @CanadianLoveKnot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I could see his logic for an big river bet (maybe not an overbet) as he unblocks all the hands that will call, such as Aces up and sets, but against good players is someone like Daniel really going to pay that off on a board where you have no bluffs, in that case we do want to bet reasonable here. I like your idea of a blocker bet sizing of 1/4 pot on the river to induce a raise either for value (Sets) or someone decides to turn their hand into a bluff, and you get max value against the weaker part of your calling range as well.

    The bluffs that make sense here are KTs and QTs IF JRB 3 bets those preflop. It would be interesting to see what JRB would have done with those hands when they run into s pair on the River. Clearly they are no good, but does JRB take an overbet sizing for a bluff with those hands on the River.

  • @franklinfamulski8638

    I think in my own progress it's mainly a matter of recognizing the possiblility of straights happening. So what I tend to find is like if someone plays to win straights then you have to switch up and play to win with full house which means playing a wider tange of hands which changes the behaviour of the whole game. So I mean in that case I'd rather repersent having pocket 99s or Jack's. Not sure if that's right or wrong it's just my thought process.

    Hi Daniel, very descriptive analysis! Could you please answer a question of mine - I understand perfectly the post hand GTO analysis but when it comes to applying it practically I struggle a little. Could you please suggest a few ways/resources to understand the theory and also how to practice? Thank you!

    • @mjriemen
      @mjriemen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Take your time
      2. Experience
      If you understand the analysis than you know how to play the hand, more or less anyway. I honestly doubt that Daniel is thinking all of these things real time, but if you play enough your brain does a lot of the work intuitively. Also, slow down and dont make hasty decisions, take just a couple of moments. Think about what beats you, and if its possible for them to have it, given the circumstances.
      Experience is the best form of practice and study there is.

      Don't think there is a need to turn AQ in to a bluff on the turn. I mean you are either far ahead or far behind so there is no need to build the pot. Also there are not many strong draws out so no need to overprotect against a turnbet that is already nearly pot size.

    I would have folded if I had A10. The fact you can’t reraised and represent a good hand because your play style doesn’t align with a straight or set… he’ll realize that and call you and you will always lose. So yes. Fold. Call is questionable but only maybe 10% of the times depending on how he’s playing. That’s my two cents.

    Remember high roller tournament when you had JT and he(not jrb) had 99 and turned a set and rivered a boat?? He overbet exactly the same when the pit was 40k

    If JRB was balanced with bluffs and value with his overbet sizing on the river.. could you ever find a bluff raise in a spot like this?

    QT and KT are his bluffs, and You have no bluff or value raise range on that runout.
    His sizing is fine with KQ - it’s definitely solver approved. It’s one of the few hands where that sizing makes sense. Using that sizing with 99 definitely not.

    • @dnegspoker
      @dnegspoker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you, but solver approved only matters if you are balanced with that size and there is no chance in hell JRB is!

    That wouldve been the biggest punt of a call ever. Terrible sizing by JRB, no bluffs here like dnegs said

      If he wanted Daniel to call he would have bet a little smaller. If he wanted him to fold he would have went all in since there are no Flushs, better straights, and no full houses. So 60k is the over bet to make Daniel think that it could be a value bet or a bluff bet and hope he had Trips in the situation to call such a big bet. iMO
