The thing in the center console is a trash can. That is why it has a flap and you can take it out to empty it. Very useful when your family likes to eat in the car and you don't want to end up with wrappers/tissues etc. in the door pockets.

The right charging side is the right side on left hand drive countries (EU, USA, etc.). When you park in parallel, that's always the side next to the sidewalk. And that's the side where the charging posts are located.

The right side is having them on both sides

I use the "phone thingy with cover" for my rfids, and the black long thing keeps my lip balm. That trashcan is brilliant idea! No more cleaning all the smuts from all the door pockets!

To the left of the dial that controls the interior lights, and the rear hatch release, there are two slots where you can store a credit card or something like a parking garage card. It's handy.

Apparently it's more important for security-oriented Volvo to see the sky than to see cars coming from behind :)
Let's hope we get some more estate-like BEVs in the future, that are practical, spacious and energy efficient.

I really don't understand why that should be a big problem.
The most important mirrors is those on the sides, and you will recognize vehicles in the coupe-mirror during normal driving. When reversing you once again better use the side mirrors and other help systems.
As an example, you have great view in a truck, but no view over your right shoulder.

The charge port is on the correct side for the UK and other right-hand drive countries!

My port for fuel is on the right side. I’m used to that. Having a charge port on the left side would be weird.

Great video as always. Love your channel. Can you maybe do a video series on the diriving assist technologies in EVs? Like Autopilot vs. volvo's pilot assist vs. others?

Charge port on the left side? Makes sense driving in UK, New Zealand, Australia where cars are supposed to drive on the left lane. Why? Because chargers along the road are also on that side and to put a cable from the charger to the other side if the car will not be more save at all. You will stay with your back in the road to plugin the cable. In my opion it is a design fail.

Very nice car and the frunk is OK for cable (better solution as in the frunk, under the luggages)

You can enable the power of the car by pushing the start/pause button under the screen. I’ve spent several nights sleeping in the XC40 when I go on trips, clicking the play button I can either run AC, put on some sexy tunes on Spotify or adjust the windows without getting into the drivers seat 👌🏻

The little "pocket" in the centre console is meant to be a waste bin.

To me it looks a discount model with cheaper alternative materials etc. Tried to save from everything a little.

Hello Bjorn! Thanks for the video. It's hard to say on camera, so I wanted to ask you if you think my German Shepherd would be comfortable in the trunk. Maybe a bit tight?

The one you took out is for rubbish, so you can empty it. Thoughtful, I think. Is probably not meant to be there when you go.

Folding rear headrest 7:20, interesting but dangerous feature. People at the front can hurt rear passenger, somehow they didn't put a weight sensor to disable it.
Coupe rear view is poor in all cars, even the Model Y has bad rear view.

    • @camato_
      @camato_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Maybe the rear headrest can´t be activated when driving

I looked into buying this car but its pilot assist is terrible in stop and go traffic. Every time it comes to a full stop, you have to push a button to resume driving.

Very Nice looking car, especially the rear. However, it's not very practical to me for a hot country because of the roof. (I live in Thailand)
