    I own a C40 Recharge - best decision to buy it in my humble opinion :) Loved your review!!

    I’m pretty sure I want an XC40 now. The C40 looks better, but I want that back seat headroom. Great video!

    Nice report, I made a test drive yesterday and the view through the rear window was not too bad. I order the front-wheel drive version with only one electric motor. Now I have to wait until March 2023 for the delivery.

    I love my C40, the steering is too light but you can set it to firm and it is perfect. I have taken the badges off and people always ask me what it is. The car has a great non-SUV luxury ride to it. In the US during warm weather I am getting far better than EPA range. Dare I say the look is better than the Audi Q4 e-tron fast back.

      Yeah it looks much better than Q4 Sportback, and it is a lot faster too 😊

      I’ve been looking seriously at this car but the winter range has me concerned. I’m in the Northeastern US - what’s the average range you’re getting in the winter? Do you use yours as a commuter, or road-tripper (I’d like to be able to take an occasional drive from Maine to NJ without a ton of range anxiety)

    • @bayridge8829
      @bayridge8829 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ksbag1 We go NJ to MA and ME regularly. There are plenty of fast charging stops in the Northeast to make it workable.

    Nice review. I also love this car. The only thing I dislike is the poor visibility through the rear window.

    We definitely have to like. You are a gift from the Google algorithm that came to me two years ago. I like that you think that about the C40 because we ordered it 2 weeks ago. It arrives in October. have a problem, it bothers me that Volvo has not yet implemented a 100 percent electric platform, the vehicle still has the distribution column in the middle of the rear seats. What's more, it seems to us the ideal car for an island. Thank you very much for your effort.
    By the way, in Spain it comes with free installation and delivery of the Wall box commander 2

    Amazing car with no serious issues.

    Kris, you’ve said the Polestar 2 is your favorite car in this segment so now I’m confused? Is it the C40 or P2?
    Also, i chose the P2 over the C40 because the baby stroller was impossibly difficult to put in/out of the C40 trunk. The P2 has 10 cm extra depth and as far as baby strollers go, that’s a huge difference in daily life.

    • @CaryInVictoria
      @CaryInVictoria 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps Kris considers the two cars to be in different segments. For example, while the P2 seems a direct competitor of the Tesla Model 3, the C40 less so.

    Nice review. In this segment I would go for the Polestar 2 instead. In my opinion it delivers better infotainment layout, ESC sportmode, better tires (not all season) and can also get ventilated "leather". But I do love the interior practicality of Volvo's C40, and not to mention the 2 complete cup holders 😜

    • @hdtvkeith1604
      @hdtvkeith1604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do wish they offered leather ventilated seats.

    • @bruintoo
      @bruintoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really in the same segment since the Polestar 2 is a hatchback "car." Also, the Polestar 2 exterior design is just kinda "meh." It was a tough choice between the two, but ultimately went with Volvo. Actually, if the Q4 e-tron Sportback was available in USA I would get that one. I couldn't get pass the ghetto plastic decal on the Polestar 2 😬.

    Would buy it but not without the Pixel LED option missing which is now the case for all new builds

    Had my for 7 weeks now
    Much better then Polestar 2 ( ride comfort driver space and overall space in the car .
    Only bad thing is the center screen but who cares?
    Next up is the Polestar 3 for me

    I really like the looks of this car and would want one, but my nearest dealer is 350KM away. In my town there are Kia and Hyundai dealers so I put my name down to order an Ionic 6, which may take a year or so unfortunately. The Volvo is tempting as I currently own a Mercedes which is also 350KM away so I have been down that road before. Cheers!

    The C40 turns the XC40 from a Granny-Mobile into a decent looking vehicle. Major visual upgrade.

    • @davidcottrell570
      @davidcottrell570 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your Granny has good taste, then. Yes, the C40 is pretty, but the rear view really is compromised by the lower roofline. I guess when you’re young, you think that’s OK as you’ll be driving faster than everyone else, but getting speeding tickets does get old - ask grandad;)

    • @benjaminsmith2287
      @benjaminsmith2287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The U in SUV stands for utility. I think "coupe" SUVs defeat that purpose. And I know these are crossovers and not real SUVs but they are made to resemble smaller-scale SUVs.

    • @davidcottrell570
      @davidcottrell570 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@benjaminsmith2287 I own a Land Rover, perhaps one of the originals. Unfortunately, it’s utility is badly undermined by its V8 fuel economy. We used to take her hiking in the mountains with our friends, but like us, she’s grown old. We still need something for shopping and trips to the garden centre, so the extra height works well, and the seating position is comfortable. I can understand how in Europe people prefer their ‘Estates’ to SUVs, but they don’t have lifted 1 ton pickups on the roads there. I tried the C40 before ordering the XC, and couldn’t agree with you more, but they are moving them off the Volvo lot, no question, and that Fjord Blue is stunning in the flesh.

      More modern looking inside IMO. Time for the next-gen Volvo interiors IMO. I do like the inlays in the C40 but the interior is dark. It needs a lighter color to make it appear larger. As is, it appears smaller than it may be.

    The XC40 facelift in sage green looks way better than this C40. From behind the C40 is nice, but from the side? Absolutely not: way too short overhang in the rear how it is designed, it is out of balance with the rest of the car!!
    Besides: no panorama roof that can be opened and no sun protection screen. So I ordered the XC40 Twin Pure full option 20” Sage green instead 😊
