So glad to hear the farm is safe. Praying for everyone who is affected.
Can't leave comments.only reply to others comments. Weird
3-6 months of food supply per home, not looking like a dumb idea nowadays
Until you get a flood right?
Wait until the longshoremen go on strike.🫣
And have some of it in watertight buckets and alternate locations...

Patera I was never into politics very much. Until this year when I have been watching you and I thank you so much for opening my eyes and making me really really care about our country. Thank you, patera!!!
Welcome sister❤🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
I hate it when a person opens up to a personal crisis and the response is that the other person has it worse. "Well, my boo-boo's bigger." Having lived in 3 different climates in the United States, I know that soil in various parts of the nation handle water (Florida's sand) is a whole lot better than clay in Ohio. We can't focus on who has it worse, but to focus on an individual's crisis and true need. I ferreted out local TV stations up through where the storm has struck and my heart grieves! It's bad! Yes, our Florida coast was slammed hard and I feel for that for sure. Yet seeing people sitting in a school shelter having lost everything they had and they have 7 children, how do I do comparisons? Listen to Patara about prepping for these events because she's correct. Bad news is that I'm hearing rumblings that another is forming down in the Caribbean just like Helene did. PRAY PEOPLE!
❤
I don’t feel like Hawaii got the help they needed and I’m really worried y’all won’t either. I’m praying I’m wrong. And im praying for all of you.

I top off my gas tank every other day during the week and that has been a blessing a couple of times when the bank account ran thin before payday. Little things like that can make a difference.

I live in Spartanburg SC. Six people have died in county. I have between 80 and 100 large
trees down none fell on house. My daughter and Sil had 2 land on there house and many more
over the driveway. But with no one hurt I am still very blessed.

I am in Spartanburg too. I have trees down in my yard but none hit the house. It's going to take a couple of weeks for me to get this cleared up. The entire neighborhood is a mess.

Patara - once things settle back down - would you consider doing a tip tricks / how to on water catchment - how long it lasts - keeping it clean etc.... sounds easy to get a tank and put water in it - but - now what - how long does the water hold - do you filter it ? Do you pump it? etc..... I have been through multiple hurricanes so I now what you are going through
Yes please
So heartbreaking for so many.😢

Cocke County here. Newport , Del Rio and surrounding counties are dealing with devastation. No power , no cell phone signals , water turned off , displaced families with children. Bridges are compromised or totally wiped out. The people here are strong and like you said very tight knit. Sending prayers to our own and neighboring states.
🙏🙏🙏
It's worse than they are telling us. An emergency responder said, "We have to bypass the bodies and focus on rescues." that alone tells you it is worse than we are hearing. Praying hard for everyone!

I heard Samaritan’s purse is going to take donations for western NC. I also heard some items will be provided per air drop. I-40west is gone around Asheville.
Hi Patara. When you mentioned being accused of making stuff up, my immediate thought was "Why?" Why would you & why would someone think that? BUT, I remembered the old saying "Better to remain silent & appear a fool than to speak & confirm it.". That person just confirmed it. So hateful.
Your absolutely right! Some people don't have a brain.
Well said..
Glad you are okay. My childhood and young adult memories in those areas hit. It hurts my heart for everyone there
I just saw on weather that there is immediate evacuation for Rutherford County, NC. Dam is overflowing.
Prayers for safety & mercy
Comment on Ryan Hall said 2 dams had burst on the line of TN. & S.C. - can anyone confirm this?
My home is up very high on the mountain but can't get up there. Chimney Rock is completely gone. Lake Lure is gone and don't know how many landslides. I pray my home is still there. But it's going to be a long time before I can get up there. Prayers for everyone that was in the path of this storm.

Yes. I agree. A blue metal roof for the barn. High wind blew off my pump house roof last spring. I had it replaced with blue metal. Never a dull moment.

Patara you remind me of noah trying to get all the animals on the ark to safety😊
Reporting in from upper East Tennessee, the floods here have devastated many of the homes up here. Many businesses have been affected.
My husband lost his car in the flood when he was trying to evacuate from work yesterday in Erwin, TN. I had to go and rescue him. Peoples homes are literally floating down the road in various locations.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, we could all use prayers. The devastation is horrendous.
I actually work, driving a truck out of Newport Tennessee through the gorge on I40 into North Carolina on to South Carolina and I have no idea when I will be able to go back to work. I have no idea when my husband will be able to go back to work.
We attempted today to go over to my husbands work location in Erwin, Tennessee. We were made to turn around because my husband‘s car is in a location that is covered in over 3 feet of mud right now and there is no access according to law enforcement.

I’m in Tornado Alley so storm-wise I’m kinda always “on call.” When I have notice of storms, I brew extra coffee, ready my pet carriers, and organize the house. I make sure the pets & ferals all get a full belly. Just kinda secure the property and animals.
My heart is breaking for so many. I’m in NE Alabama and only had wind and rain. My daughter and family live in Asheville and are in a mess! No power, no water, all roads around them closed. Thankfully, their house is on a slight hill and they were spared having to leave. But the pics I’ve seen are devastating. We’ve been in prayer for all of you affected. I agree with you. I try to do as much housework as possible before a storm. Top off pets water, do dishes and laundry and top off my DIY berkey. In Michigan weather can change in the blink of an eye. Even had blue sky 80 degree days and within an hour it’s down pours hail tornado warnings and a drop to 65 degrees and no power so very important to prepare. My next big purchase is a whole house standby generator system that ties into my gas lines. It’s on average a $10,000-15,000 set up so yes it’s tough to always be prepared. I will probably have a simple pump and wood stove insert installed before the generator but I want as many options as possible.
I really want a Generac!
We were also spared in sw Georgia. We were prepared after experiencing hurricane Michael for the first time in our lives.
You never know when you have to learn a new set of survival skills.

Patera you've got this. The Lord's hand is on you. We all love you please be safe. You are a blessing to all of us who watch you. Our prayers are with you, coming from Arkansas
Check with your insurance about your roof. An adjuster inspecting it may get y some $$$ off from the storm. We had an inspection of our house roof last year and they found hail damage from a year ago; then they went over and inspected out barn roof and found more. Added $7000 for the barn roof. We were stunned. Well worth having an inspection. Blessings from Kansas.
Gosh dosen't everybody wish she was running this country. We would all be in better shape.

I can’t help but think weather warfare. A month out from the election right in some of the reddest areas in the country. I lived in Florida for over 30 years. I’ve seen a lot of hurricanes. I’ve never seen one strengthen this fast that’s this large. Usually the really big ones don’t become CAT4. I’m thankful we here in Greenback TN have had a drought all summer. Made it easier to handle all this rain we’ve gotten. God, please deliver us from the evil in our country. Bless those affected by this devastation

I lived through six days without power and water during the Texas freeze in 2021. Below freezing temps. No heat only blankets.
I was w/out power for 9 days with Ian. Hey it’s warm down here. But I didn’t worry about freezing. The freezing situation is much worse then me being hot. That is horrible scarey! 🙏

Thankfully I had listened to you and I had put away several hundred dollars in cash in my gun safe
And it was needed today the gas station could only take cash because their phone lines was out from all the flooding and falling trees.so if you didn't have cash you couldn't buy anything.
And if you have time after you’ve secured, cleaned and cooked….take a shower or hot bath, wash your hair, brush your teeth and try to relax, praying all the while.
Hi Patara glad you’re safe. We were worried about you. Lisa here on Maryland’s eastern shore.
Midlands of SC. Lost power for 28 hrs. We have full house generator. I love the mountains of NC and Tn. I survived Hurricane Hugo and Helene. Dont kid yourself to think you wont have natual disaster. Prayers
I’m from Blount. We own a business on the Pigeon River in Sevierville. We are spared so far. Our family is heartbroken for our sisters and brothers in upper East Tn and WNC. Prayers up guys, it’s bad. We are not prepared for this like our FL families.
Here in Greene County our bridges are gone or unpassable so please pray cause people are stranded, have no power or water, no way to get to stores or into town at all. Thank you for all prayers 🙏

North Middle Tn, we had isolated flooding but have faired ok. Hearts go out to our eastern Tn families. Thank you Patara
Same.....Northern Middle Tennessee....
Been trying to follow you on all the platforms....you're made tough but your heart is so passionate and caring... take a deep breathe and let's get through this with the know how God and our Grannys gave us! Those who have never lived through a disaster don't realize how time stands still. Trees that have possibly a century old coming down and homes filled with mud and debris. It's overwhelming but we get through it one day at a time.

As a Floridian, my heart breaks for the people of TN & NC. We happened to be coming up to the TN/KY area for a preplanned vacation during this time. We left FL on Wed night and made it to Chattanooga on Thursday morning. Thank God we left when we did. Our home and family are alright as far as I know, but I have several friends and co-workers that have lost their homes. When I started seeing the news out of Asheville and NE TN all I could do was pray for those that are caught in this mess. Patara, thank you for the update. I'm glad that you and your family are safe. There is another storm system brewing down in the Caribbean that we're praying doesn't become a Helene 2.0. Keep an eye on it..the southeast can't handle another storm.
We live in a little town called Todd right next to Boone and we are devastated flooding landslides it’s awful

I have an indoor pyr. He failed his training as a LG so now he’s my guardian. It’s not ideal to have an indoor pyr. I would warn anyone away from such an idea. They don’t “just shed.” I vacuum twice a day. That’s in addition to a daily brushing out of at least two cats worth of hair.
Thank G*d, Miss Lou is safe.

NOTHING like Helene has ever happened in Northeast TN! Most people were not prepared for a disaster of this magnitude. I-26 connecting Erwin/Johnson City TN to Asheville, NC is totally washed away, both directions. And I-40 connecting Newport/Knoxville TN to NC has one lane washed away. This will be devastating to this area for years to come. National Guard and VA state police had to evacuate over 50 patients and healthcare workers from the top of the Unicoi County/Erwin hospital, it was so heartbreaking to see them with their IV poles in the rescue boats. The hospital was totally flooded as well as EMS vehicles. The hospital in Greeneville TN suspended operations and is evacuating all patients right now due to system wide phone issues. Greeneville/Greene County only has 24 hours of water left in their reservoirs. Nolichucky river had the water intake plant underwater and damaged the the building and the pump systems. Mayor is asking all car washes, restaurants, laundromats to please close their businesses to conserve water. Schools have already been closed for the next week. Clean water in high demand. Downtown Newport is completely flooded. Unicoi, Greene, and Cocke counties are major disaster zones. Please pray for them!
Why not drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the feed trough so the water drains? Just a thought.❤
People think I'm crazy when a storm is coming and I preach wash clothes, towels, linens, and scrub your bathrooms. Put water into 5 gallon buckets as backup to clean your home and flush your toilets. The list goes on. Praying everyone comes out of this safe, healthy, and blessed!
Thank you for letting us know, this is all so heartbreaking 😢🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the update. Glad ya'll are safe.
What's really strange is that hurricanes formed in the coast of Africa and would cross the Caribbean past cuba etc and would only touch miami or the keys in lower Florida. 🤔 now suddenly supposedly because of global warming. The hotter the atlantic and gulf area the more Hurricanes and the higher the category. I've been thru a few big hurricanes. They used to go up to category 2 or 3. Now they're going to category 4 and 5 which is very strong. Also now that china and rusdia are involved in cuba again with a Chinese base allegedly there those hurricanes are suddenly turning upwards across Florida or Louisiana etc. Going to to the north. Could it be engineered weather by the left or commies to destroy the country, empoverish the people? Make them se their farms to the communists who've been buying american farms and your farm animals?
I agree, lots of people are saying H.a.a.r.p was involved with this Hurricane 😢

Hot water in the gulf, so it’s likely to get strong hurricanes. Think about the causes.

Mostly deep red areas, so they do not serve a purpose. So they won't do anything for this area
@@catladylife My thoughts exactly
Come to think of it I haven't heard one word from either of them. He's busy napping and she's busy dodging interviews.
This area does not serve the Potato and Special K. Its deep red and they could care less about the devastation. Its not "their" fan base.
I was wondering about you and your family glad you’re ok. I saw all the videos of devastating events. So horrible I couldn’t sleep last night.

I wear dailies contacts and they are necessary and my gift to myself. They are expensive. I remember you once said you were trying to cut back on expenses. Extra glasses are necessary for us. I put socks in plastic containers. Dry socks are important To avoid illness. The crockpot of chili helped me. You are correct we need to constantly assess our situation.
My daughter was stranded in Cherokee. She left at 9:00 this morning and didn’t get home until 6:45 this evening. We’re in central NC and normally she would have come home via I-40. Well as you know that was a no go. She had to go down the bro GA, up into SC and then NC. What should have taken her 4 hrs tops took her over 9 hrs! I’ve been a basket case all day!!
So glad you all are safe! Maybe Ukraine can send money back to US to help these folks!
One big lesson learned from this is keep cash on hand! We are 20-30 minutes from the flood zones but our groceries stores/gas stations have no internet service so they cannot accept credit/debit cards. Some are taking checks but some are cash only. I’ve been surprised and the people who are freaking out because they don’t have a check to use or any cash just to buy groceries. Be prepared folks. This is what can happen very quickly.
Thank you Patara ❤️✝️ im glad you are ok, I m praying for all the other folks who are not 🙏

Prayers for all affected by this awful weather event. Please include S.C. in those prayers. Devastation is a perfect word to describe the area in AikenCounty & beyond (6 deaths).
Gas (for generators) is imperative. We were blessed to be without power & water for less than 10 hours. Sixty thousand will be without for 5 days or longer. I have been very concerned about your and your family and farm Patara as I know you live somewhere in East Tennessee. It just made me sick to hear about all of the flooding and devastation in Tennesesee and Western North Carolina. Boone, NC, which has seen flooding is one of my favorite places in the world. I attended school at Appalachian State University and just love the area. I had friends living in Asheville. The photos are just devastating of the area. I will keep everyone in all of these states in my prayers. Kentucky was hit, but no flash flooding. Trees down along with power lines, but no-one injured. Take care.
