Am sorry to hear that bandit is not doing to well. Ever since bo passed away. I know it's hard see your dogs get older and know they won't be with ya'll much longer. Am 66 we always had some kind of animal for pets. Even though you know that they don't live as long as us. They become more than just pets their family. Enjoy what time you have. Love ya'll videos. May God keep blessing ya'll
Yes they are more then pets when we lost our big boy I cried my eyes out for two hours he was a Bully cross good dog very protective and he loved my two lads ….Pets are family and they know who they are cheers 🙏❤️😀👍✝️
If you want to do another awesome celery recipe, look up a celery chickpea soup recipe. You can definitely use a different bean. I also like to roast celery as a side dish.
Arielle, exquisite cinemaphotography; you continue to spoil and delight us! I just love seeing nature in all her abundance, color, and finery as she moves through the seasons. Eric, your video editing is just top notch with perfect transitions, pacing, and sound. Things I've learned ... you have the most beautiful (and well fed/cared for) chickens on the 'net, bar none. Your continuous innovation and improvements to the homestead and its processes is remarkable ... storing the roots veggies in the drain was a very cool (pun intended) idea! And the new fermenting setup ideal! Super happy to see Pepper doing the garden cameo walkabout and contented cat loaf (she's my once-in-lifetime-furbaby's doppelganger ); and so sorry to hear Bandit's feeling poorly. You're both such a source of love, care, and comfort for him.
By the way, the leaves at the top of the Brussels sprout stalk are absolutely delicious. My husband and I discovered this as a bit of a happy accident and they are now a real treat in our household. They have a much milder flavour than the sprouts do and are very buttery and tender.
I am a 21 year old student from India preparing for a competetive exam and when things sets tough for me I love to watch ur videos, for me its like living a dream that I can never achieve or maybe who knows.
Another wonderful video, I just love the beginning drone footage, the landscape is staggeringly beautiful Thanks for the update on Bandit, pets are family and it’s sad they have a shorter life span than us but boy, have your dogs and a full and happy life, I’m sure your keeping him as comfortable as you can x
When you almost dropped that lid of the brand new pot that you are so proud of and pulled your face like that at your husband I had such a good laugh😂😅 thank you for keeping that part in. Can totally relate more with real things happening. Makes me feel like I'm there in person having fun right allong side you🎉
Have you ever thought of writing a cook book? Those 'meat 'balls sounded like a great idea. Love the cooking segments of your videos. Love how you work together...such a neat couple! Videos are awesome! A great grandma from Minnesota! ❤
Not a lot makes me happier than when you guys post a new video. I load it up on my big screen, sit back and relax. Man I miss Alaska. You two are spectacular.
Thank you again for sharing so much of your life and adventures. Bandit is loved by all, I know you will treasure what time you have left with him. He’s known nothing but joy, love and the best dog adventures. Your B roll could rival National Geographic. Thank you so much! Highlight of my week.
Beautiful cat. 13:22 I never get tired of seeing her in your videos. She's absolutely stunning! (Forgive me, I'm partial to felines). Dogs are great, too, though, and I will keep sweet Bandit in my prayers. Lord, give him a second wind!
Gorgeous opening, as usual! We are spoiled by your talent. I’m so glad you got to visit with family, and so sad that Bandit isn’t doing well. 😓 Thank you for sharing your lives with all of us, showing us what is possible in a garden (in Alaska!!), and sharing your food adventures, which are so impressive! You two are just fabulous. 👏👏👏
WOW. I seriously cried at the intro. God's creation is so magnificent and you captured that beauty extremely well. Your cinematography continues to amaze me, y'all. ❤
When you get your power setup better, Id recommend a freeze dryer. They are a game changer for food preservation. Sorry bandit isn't well. My cat is in end stage kidney failure. Switching to distilled water made a huge difference. They intake a lot of phosphates from water. She was given 2 months to live 7 months ago. That was the change I made. She's still running around like nothing happening. I hope it helps.
I just turned on IPad and got notice of this video. I am so happy, have been watching for latest all week. They can’t come soon enough for me. I am first viewer I think
Oh dear! It's so sad when you know your beloved companion is in a decline. Very tough. Your harvest was amazing and hope it all stores well. Oh my goodness I was drooling over your supper. The celery 'meat' balls sound delicious. Must give them a try. Over here (uk) we hang our game a while to develop the flavour and tenderness and I have to say I'm rather partial to a gamey grouse. Keep warm
Every time i see your black cat it always reminds me off our cat that passed December 2023 ... Yoda was such a wonderful cat ... one so great we will never have another because another just wont be as good
I’m always amazed at the vegetables grown in Alaska. They always look so good. That soil and from what looks like a lack of pest produces some very nice healthy plants. Absolutely amazing!
So if im hearing correct, the future root cellar design is being planned in Eric's thoughts. Having enough space to grow mushrooms in summer and store in winter. Awesome harvest and food prep u 2!
you guys are my absolute favorite channel to follow. I love your teamwork and chemistry. Your opening videos of the Alaskan landscapes and scenery are always stunning and paired with your music choices is so relaxing. I think you should compile them all together in a video to sell so we can just play that and chill out a bit and enjoy the beauty of Alaska and relax to the music. I'd buy it!! 😍
I like it all too. Your updates are always interesting no matter if it's a build project, a fishing/hunting trip, a cooking day, a gardening day or a mix or those like today. I hope you get the green house covered in before the snow flies. Hang in there, Bandit. You're a good boy.
So celery can be frozen? That is great as soup time may be coming round soon, if we ever get out of these triple digits 108 today😡🥵 Great harvest, love when you do these winter food storage videos❤
Alaska, in her autumn wardrobe, is stunningly beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Your garden harvest was amazing, and your dinner was a gourmet's delight. I love watching you two.
Y'all always make the most amazing food! Bandit is an amazing dog. I'm sorry he is not doing well lately. Make the most of his time left, lots of love and cuddles.
Watching you eat your meat ball and mixture… my mouth was watering it looked so good ,you are an amazing team whether it’s gardening ,building ,cooking or hunting etc you compliment each other …great video …♥️🇨🇦
Big hugs for Bandit!! 😘Ugh, it's so hard watching them age. Your garden harvest looked wonderful and your meal looked SUPURB!! 🤗Your videos always make me hungry for some reason! 😋
What a feast for the chickens! There is something very satisfying about growing and harvesting your own food. Your celery looks fabulous. I hate how stores cut off almost all of the green, leafy tops. To me, that is the best stuff. I put it in soups/stews/roasts, etc. So much good food is wasted. Polish people make a soup out of sorrel. If you are interested, look up the recipe. Everyone has their own spin on it but it is one of my favorite all time dishes.
Doing all of that processing outdoors is not only extremely efficient it’s probably more enjoyable than indoors! Clean up was probably a breeze, too! You guys do great work!
Hello from Iowa. Fantastic once again; start to finish it's worth every second. I have watched for many years now, and I still can't wait for the next video. Also, I really love that your videos are longer than 15 minutes. Thank you for sharing all of your ups & downs of life. Really makes you feel like your right there. Take care & see ya next time. 🤗 💕💕
What a totally awesome harvest! And the skill with which you handle and preserve it is fascinating to me. Bandit is a wonderful companion and i know you will love him more in his waning season.
Root veg, like carrots and parsnips will get sweeter after a few frosts. If you covered them with hay, they could probably stay in the ground until somewhere around mid Oct in your climate. From Texas A&M: "Cabbage head splitting can be avoided by keeping the soil uniformly moist near harvest time. Splitting can also be prevented by root pruning the plant about the time the heads mature. This can be done by cultivating near the plant or simply twisting the plant to break some of the roots."
Thank you for uploading....these days I'm pretty messed up with exams....Your videos reminded me there are so many beautiful things in the world AND Found reason not to give up on life....your guys are my therapy......Love you both ; from sri lanka
REQUEST (only if feasible): Would love a montage 15-30 minutes of chicken sounds & chicken behaviors with no human narration. It would be a great surprise in the middle of your winter. 💜from Texas!
FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC 👏 😀!!!..I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE AND I AM GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN...DINNER TIME WITH YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME...ARIELLES EXPRESSIONS AND CRITIQUE OF YOUR MEALS ARE JUST PRICELESS..SORRY ABOUT THE DOG 🐕...I KNOW THAT THE GARDEN WILL BE BETTER NEXT YEAR 😀 😊 ❤❤..
Wow great looking meal. I love watching you harvest the garden and watch how you preserve it. Your garden did beautifully. Great job guys. So sorry about Bandit. I will say some prayers for him and y'all. I know how hard it is to watch them decline. Heart wrenching.😢
If it is not mentioned yet: dont wash the root vegetables before storing because they will spoil easier. For the leeks, you can leave the roots and stand them in a bucket with damp sand. They will store many month that way. Greetings from germany
Yes, me too, l will be praying for Bandit. The amount of produce from the garden was plentiful. Glad you figured out a way to store and preserve. The meal looked delicious. Loved the celery meatballs. Ha ha😂 or should l have said celeryballs.
Seldom comment but always watch! I love Alaska - lived in Fairbanks with my family all during 4th grade - always swore I would go back. I'm 82 now, and I haven't given up that dream!
Couple of things you might like to try . With the leeks put them in deeper you get a larger white section which is more tender than the green. You could try dry storing root vegetables in 'clamps' which are piles of dry soil or sand layered with the root veg, it's a traditional way of storing root veg here in UK, you can use wooden boxes or barrels as well, it's important that the soil/sand is dry.
Drooling!! Dinner looks amazing 🤩 Your garden result is fantastic! So so many yummy 😋 things. I hope Bandit feels better. He’s such a wonderful dog 😊👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Autumn is so wonderful, it's a wonderful feeling to be blessed by nature, life is so peaceful, if I were you I would do wonderful things like you, Happy Autumn! 🌹🎉

Wow garden looks great a fantastic harvest and a meal you want again very well done guys hope the floor drain / root cellar works 👍👋🇨🇦
Thank you, so enjoy your video's.
I’m seriously wetting my pillow with tears for Bandit. It is so hard to see their decline and know that we can’t keep them forever.
I can watch some of the saddest things on the internet and what makes me cry.... Hearing that Bandit isn't doing well. Hugs for all.
Your drone footage is SPECTACULAR.
If you want to do another awesome celery recipe, look up a celery chickpea soup recipe. You can definitely use a different bean. I also like to roast celery as a side dish.
For sure
Absolutely beautiful 🍂🍁! Thank you for sharing it with all of us 🙂.
i stopped watching on discovery and such this is much better same quality
When your entire meal is totally fresh, something you grew and caught, life doesn't get much better than that.
When you need a BOLT CUTTER to harvest your garden vegetables... I'd say you have had a successful year.
Your openings are amazing, so beautiful up there.

Thank you so much! Highlight of my week.
I am regularly amazed at the productivity of your garden up there on the edge of the Arctic Circle. You are real pioneer gardeners
Beautiful cat. 13:22 I never get tired of seeing her in your videos. She's absolutely stunning! (Forgive me, I'm partial to felines). Dogs are great, too, though, and I will keep sweet Bandit in my prayers. Lord, give him a second wind!

WOW. I seriously cried at the intro. God's creation is so magnificent and you captured that beauty extremely well. Your cinematography continues to amaze me, y'all. ❤
This is what I was thinking also. The beautiful tapestry that God has created. Looking at that sight - there should be a creator.

For a garden that was only constructed in May, this is a great result. It'll be a veggie paradise in a few years.
Holy smokes! The opening shots of the vibrant yellows and oranges of the fall leaves are absolutely breathtaking!!!
I just turned on IPad and got notice of this video. I am so happy, have been watching for latest all week. They can’t come soon enough for me. I am first viewer I think

Love the aerial shots of the property!!!!
It really shows all their hardwork for the past year.
Surely you mean Arielle shots
Seeing Ariel stalking through the forest, I kept hearing Elmer Fudd, "Be vewy, vewy quiet."
Thought I mistakenly put on a National Geographic video. U guys are now the best off grid video by far.
The intro landscaping shots are really good and in the way that make it change with the tempo of the music was a nice touch.
Make a table out of wire.screen to wash veggie , dirt washes thur holes ! 17:56
Hardware cloth works good too
very good to know!

Eric can really get excited about food. He can't hide his enthusiasm about the celery balls. Looks like a great first year harvest.
I’m always amazed at the vegetables grown in Alaska. They always look so good. That soil and from what looks like a lack of pest produces some very nice healthy plants. Absolutely amazing!

You two should consider doing a cookbook! I mean, in your "free time"!! Hugs for Bandit.
So if im hearing correct, the future root cellar design is being planned in Eric's thoughts. Having enough space to grow mushrooms in summer and store in winter. Awesome harvest and food prep u 2!
Dinner looked amazing. Give Bandit lots of love. He is a very good boy. Thank you for all that you both do and show to us here.
Awesome garden! My mother always stored her carrots for the winter in pails of sand and they lasted all winter, fresh as new!
Blessings for little Bandit. Hopefully he’s not in much pain. Bless you both and keep your spirits high! ❤
Hi from the UK. Just a tip. Celery is great pickled! Lots of recipes on the net for it. Great addition to wraps etc.

I was once in Alaska. Iam from Hungary. Nice memory. Never forget it.❤
Alaska, we've got to preserve this great jewel. Thanks for the awesome drone footage.

Your love for nature shines through in every video. 🌿
Very good harvest for Alaska can't wait to see you guy,s build the greenhouse.
Soooo refreshing to see people enjoy food!
thank you for this video - and for sharing bandit with us (and bo!).
If it is not mentioned yet: dont wash the root vegetables before storing because they will spoil easier. For the leeks, you can leave the roots and stand them in a bucket with damp sand. They will store many month that way. Greetings from germany
Yes. The same with cabbage and Brussels sprouts. Store them with the root intact.
Those views in the opening! Wow! Your abundance is absolutely inspiring. Thank you for sharing the beauty of Alaska with us.
That look you did when you dropped that lid oh my I felt that !!! I would’ve had heartache attack! Ariel you handled it like a champ❤
Love watching you guys
I think living off the grid forces you to develop so many new skills, from growing your own food to generating your own energy.
Y’all are an inspiration to everyone who loves homesteading… Blessed Be
Yes, me too, l will be praying for Bandit.
The amount of produce from the garden was plentiful. Glad you figured out a way to store and preserve. The meal looked delicious. Loved the celery meatballs. Ha ha😂 or should l have said celeryballs.
Feels like only a couple of weeks ago that you planted that garden and now it's already about to be hunting season
Poor Bandit. I will be praying for him that he remains comfortable and peaceful. Bo will be happy to see him again.😢❤
Both of you are amazing chef! Thank you so much for taking us along! Praying for bandit! Love your channel!!!
