Boy, you must really love that truck. I think I will just continue to drive mine as is, with running boards removed, rotten rear rockers cut out, and grabbing the steering wheel to hop in. Excellent work !
Thanks for the video! My Dad and I are getting ready to do mine on my 01 7.3L Excursion this upcoming weekend. First step in getting it redone. Looked fantastic when you got done.
nice to see the full process even sped up. Probably going to have to do this for the rockers all the way round. My excursion was a Northern truck and they're all rusted out bad.
The rocker panels, if you can find them, are about $60 each. Maybe an hour or two of labor for each panel. Depends on your local shop rates. If a shop charges $120 per hour labor, maybe $700-$900 range for materials and labor.
Self etching primer followed by a white enamel coat, Rust-Oleum rattle cans in thin coats. Has held up great. Starting with a nice clean, dry, rust free surface helped.
@@tynicgorski6657 It's definitely a battle with thin sheet metal. Practiced on the scrap rocker panel to get the speed and amps set. Butt welds were too much for me. Overlapped everywhere possible and it came out nice, for what it is.
One of the best instructional videos I’ve watched in a long time! Bravo!

Yeah some people take pride what they drive
This man saves vehicles - old ones are better made and are paid off! I Fluid Film my vehicles annually.
Great editing the video...good tempo. I enjoyed the faster pace. Nice seeing the whole job, but expedited. Thanks

Have fun! If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.
Where did you order your parts from
Followed this and got a 7.3 for next to nothing...saved me a lot of money bro! TY.

Same my excursion needs all four. Better do it soon before it goes beyond the rockers!
Outstanding job on the video.
Great video. Thanks for making it.
I’ve heard that you can glue instead wielding rocker panels Is that true?
Nice video
How much does this cost to be done? Looking into purchasing an excursion with this issue
Just use metal pop rivets to fasten the new panels on ! Will save bunches of time and last as long as the vehicle will be on the road.
Nice work
Looks brand new. How much does each rocker panel repair cost, on average? I have an '04 Excursion that needs two done.

On Amazon 6 pieces inner and outer rockers made in USA. 275 I think it was.

Great video - thanks
Love this video. Doing mine, 2005. Is that a rattle can? What did you use? How well will it hold up?
Self etching primer followed by a white enamel coat, Rust-Oleum rattle cans in thin coats. Has held up great. Starting with a nice clean, dry, rust free surface helped.
You did yours way differently than a lot of these videos. Like this video better
Maçarico ainda é o melhor
Like a humming bird with that drill
Awesome dude
Good job man
Cool
Were you using gas or flux core when welding?
Sure did use flux core. $70 Harbour Freight welder with $30 Lincoln Electric wire.
Thats good did you run into any blow through while using the flux core?

Can you do mine?
Sure, no problem. Price is a 6 pack of Guinness.
Sada igual maçarico não tem
Fastest drill in the west.😁
