@@undergroundbuilds7 hi, i didnt see how you treated inside of the rust metal? I usually try to brush with steel brush as much as I can, then i spray it with a lot of antirust, and spray with paint from inside. After its done, I use your method of sealer. Altough I use metal mesh for holes.

@@uroskostic8570 I pretty much do the same process as you and use a rust converter, then let that dry 24 hrs then apply paint or under coating depending on what I’m doing

Well done. Wax paper trick was brilliant, solves the shaping problem straight away, and will come off, unlike aluminum foil. The fiberglass should hold together better than Bondo, which is too heavy, and will fall out of a big hole or bottom repair in one big chunk. Better for minimizing future rust than spray foam, by a long shot.

I like your effort to repair the rust on your vehicle. It might help your repair look a lot more professional if you looked at some of the auto body repair videos on youtube and then do your repair. I looked at auto body repair videos on youtube for 2 or 3 months before I fixed my rocker panel rust on my truck. I wanted it to look like it was done by a real auto body repair shop and when I finished, it looks really good. The wax paper concept is a great idea. I like anything that I do to look perfect. First time I've seen the wax paper method. I usually use that stick on mesh for a quick no weld patch. Never even thought of using wax paper🤔

I put 2 inch masking tape on cardboard, mix the duraglass right on top of the tape, spread it out over the sheet, and slap it on. The tape pops right off the Dglass, and it’s already fairly well shaped.

Great content. Not everybody wants welded patch panels. You gotta bend a little and give them a solution. May not last forever, but is presentable for the near future. Its only temporary until it lasts. Love the videos. I may have to ask your expertise on a fiberglass fill and paint blend over some headlight pockets. I wish you were was local to Dallas.

I agree with you, sometimes you just need a quick fix to get you back on the road and won’t cost you a lot of money and this is just a alternative that people can take. Email me what you’re working on if you want and maybe we can get it figured out!

Don’t get me wrong, it was not meant negatively. I commented before I saw the whole vid. Yes your right, for a quick fix it will do, but it’s such a pity for the work.
Some rust converter and wax spray would extend the repair so you enjoy a longer period of the work you have done. I know cost would be a little higher but then you wouldn’t have to do the same job again on a short base
