Tip: Replace the rear glass struts with the ones used in a 2wd Excursion to gain some extra opening height. The 2wd struts are longer and work perfectly on 4wd models too.
I had a couple of these trucks as work trucks for about 10 years. They were diesel and I ran up and down the Dalton Highway with them. I actually had an electrical problem in one where the dash and windows would quit working. I motored the window down to scan my badge at a guard shack and the window didn’t go back up for about five miles. It was about -30 out. The shop replaced the dash and it fixed the problem.
I've just upgraded to my 1st excursion. Had ranger/ 2- f150's/ 99 F250 V10 traded in/ 01 F350 quad cab long bed dually V10. I'm happy with the ride, my 250 had 1/2 the leaf springs broke for years!
My Excursions "Liaometer" is about .2 mpg off every time. Oil still honey after 1k oil change with 192k miles v10. I will always keep him. Worth to keep 😊
More tips: install snaps in place of the weak Velcro holders for the middle seat panels. Install a dash cover so you can actually use the dash to hold stuff without damage. Use an oversized elongated cushion and stuff it in the hole on the 3rd row seat driver side to increase seating space. Get a rear view camera.
Yes I've gotta get out of the shop more! That's the plan, its actually the Columbia river, my new house is down close to it but I can't quite see it from the shop.
There's a bunch of private sellers in Florida selling their Excursions in Facebook's market place, in antiques and collectibles section...they look good, too...
2000, 4 X 4, V-10 If you're having electrical issues and you think it might be the PCM?....have a good mechanic check the diodes in the alternator first... if bad they cause all kinds of problems. If you have after market off-set rims and tires...replace front hubs every 65k. If you lose power but it still idles fine, check all the 10amp fuses under the hood...there's one that causes about 16 codes. I had mine towed for a 75 cent fuse blown! Check fuses first! If your gear indicator dial points to the wrong place, there's a very good TH-cam video made on just that. th-cam.com/video/BkeKECBvjXU/w-d-xo.html If your gas mileage is really bad...that's normal. If your AC works really good...that's normal too. I have other remedies. Thanks for yours Geeks 4X4
puppy noises... ha I'm guessing that's an auto correct. The first thing I'd check is the sway bar links, then the sway bar bushings on the axle. If its under your foot in the floor that is usually the body mounts.
That mountain in the background is unbelievably beautiful
Thanks! Central Washington is pretty awesome!

Its funny I have that done, but one of the tips that I forgot! thanks for adding it!!
The rear glass struts on my 2wd Ex seems to be on the short side. I notice because it hit my head. I'm only 5ft7.
I got much longer ones... Other than barely being able to reach them it opens that bad boy all the way up!

Awesome! They are great rigs but ya after 02 they have issues like that if anything under the dash gets wet. Thanks for the support!
Same thing happened to me… it was a relay and was nearly free to fix.

It looks like you where up on badger Mt. Nice view up there
Do you have part numbers for the longer wipers?
Ya they are normal 24" wiper blades, but there is a set in this excursion parts list I've made here amzn.to/3Uqt453
@@Geeks4x4 thanks. I didn’t see any wiper blades in there but will scroll through again.
I added them yesterday but here is a direct link amzn.to/3UvZNpz
