  • This is part 1 (/2) of refurbishing the Zeneth 36IV carburetor from my Land Rover Series 2A. The old carb could not be regulated. The exhaust gases were way to rich. Before mounting a carburetor kit , you have to resurface all the parts of the carb. This resurfacing takes some time, but the result is a so good as new carburetor.

Have same carb on my Bedford CF. Was never happy with its operation to get a tick over the butterfly had to be open so much the main jet was starting to supply fuel and volume adjustment screw had little effect hence it always ran rich and had poor economy and sooty plugs on tick over. Cleaned it put gaskets and seals in etc etc. but with no real improvement. Found your video followed the procedure to flatten the surfaces and voila carb works perfect, the mixture can be set easily with very low tick over possible and the main jet only operates as the revs pick up just as it should, perfect! thank you very much.

Hello Adam Jhons . Thank you for the feedback. It is always nice to hear that a video is usefull for somebody. The resurfacing of the Zeneth 36 is essential for a good repair because the body of the carberator is warped from the heat. Installing the new nozzles (video part 2 : Refurbish zeneth 36 VI carb) is the easier part of the refurbishing job. Fist i did the refurbishing without the resurfacing of the body parts and it was a failure. Pleace subscribe to me channel if possible. Have a nice day. So Oldt
