      @VWJawbreaker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim Lester carbs with a choke are nice, then again I don’t have any experience dealing with the winters up north. Just like any carb, if you jet them properly it shouldn’t be an issue. Hold the pedal down for maybe a minute to keep the rpms up a little and she’ll idle just fine.

      Hey man, glad you enjoyed the video!
      34’s on a 1600 is a great combo, you’ll just need to get it accordingly.
      Local, triangle in winter park is good for parts or the VDub factory in oval. Otherwise shop around between CIP1, Wolfsburg West, AA Performance, etc.

    After rebuilding my Weber 34ict carbs, the engine won’t start. I suspect it’s the mixture screws, because that’s about the only thing that changed positions. However, I rebuilt all the linkage too. The carbs pop and backfire which seems like an easy fix. The mixture screws were way out before I started the rebuild, and the engine ran, and it seems like I’ve moved them from 1.5-4.5 turns looking for some change. Any thoughts my friend?

    • @VWJawbreaker
      @VWJawbreaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like it could be a vacuum leak or timing. If your mixture screws are that far out your idle jets are too small.

    Hi. Great video. I’ve just bought a t2, I feel like my first job should be to rebuild the carbs. I don’t have an ultrasonic cleaner. Is there something else I can use to clean? Degreaser and toothbrush maybe?

    • @VWJawbreaker
      @VWJawbreaker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback and congrats on your t2!
      You can use a can of brake clean or carb clean and some soft brushes and compressed air to blow out the passages.
