But finally I Was able to fix it now or I should say restored it the way you did it with brand new genuine parts as per specs.

When I worked at the carb shop we used to bore the body with a guided counter bore leaving a step in the bottom of the bore. That meant boring in from both sides. as for bushes they were coated with a Ramset superglue and bashed into their bores with a small ballpeen hammer, finished with a Stanley knife. Finish reaming was with a suitable hand reamer.

Interesting, as i remember old Swedish Volvo B-18 also had a Zenith Carburettor. The most common problems with them as i remember was the lack of real bearings for the airvalve wich makes the bearingpoints for the axle to wear out ower time and caus problems when the lid started wobbling. But maybe that's fixed on the newer models... The old models was pretty easy to take apart and back again.

This is the kind of restoration I'd like to do on my two old Beetles.
Does the heart good to watch you work, going through every detail and documenting it!
I have a box of various and sundry carbs off multiple vehicles, most could use this sort of repair! I'll probably have the better ones done by a specialist (at least the better VW ones) and have a go myself at the junkier ones. Huh, that's a accelerator-pump design new to me!
Just for the sake of debate, I'd imagine that busted pinhole could be fixed with some silver-solder, filing smooth, and re-drilling. But that would take more patience and steadier hands than I possess! XD

Once upon a time, on a 1972 Dodge Dart (4-door sedan) with the famous 225 ci Slant Six engine, I rebuilt the carb. When I installed the throttle plate, I filed the two plate-holding screws flush with the throttle rod, and added center punches to ensure that the now-studs never moved again. The smoothed-out airflow at this choke point seemed to make a subtle difference in how the car performed, and even sounded. Combined with other simple mods (free flowing exhaust, advanced ignition....that's about it); it certainly started going through rear axles.
