I must say I have the fiat 500 lounge 2014...regular repairs....only thing that i replaced all the time were the headlights, turn signals etc...way more than other cars...but i also put on 227k miles....i only getting rid of it now because my wife up graded and I took her Niro for even better gas milage. You can get these Fiats for fairly cheap used, with low miles compared to most other things out there...i did mostly all highway driving but for those who are staying local..need a car but don't want to spend a lot..take advantage of the good used prices and good gas milage. Plus for a little SUV it holds a ton.

Of and one other annoying thing, never listen to the radio with the car off in the acc mode even with a fully charged battery at least three times and one a couple days ago it does in a matter of minutes....it needs a jump start and then it is completely fine, So a few annoying things but if you need a used car, with low miles these car prices seem reasonable and knowing i got 227k miles out of it with still life left on it...id buy another one....

I just bought a new 2021 Ford EcoSport. Its the exact one you show in this video. I traded in a 2018 Ford Fiesta with only 4400 mi. I don't drive much as you can tell.. Just town driving. I will do the same with this Ecosport. I truly love it. Its so stylish and has a 4 out of 5 safety rating! There's a 5 out of 5 for one of the safety features. Its great! Sound system, moon roof, heated steering wheel and seats, great ride! I LOVE my Ford EcoSport!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

The EcoSport has a real torque converter, and the 4WD version has the 2.0 Duratec, a very reliable and proven engine. Reliability and build quality are good. I bought it BECAUSE it will last a long time.

My Only complaint from my 2018 ecosport 4wd is i wish it got a couple mpg more.fuel mileage isnt too bad but wish it was better.Other than that the vehicle so far has been just outstanding.its so poised and nice to drive, always relaxed and quiet.I was driving my ecosport at 160 kmh for about 15,maybe 20 miles and it was like nothing, smoothest ride ive ever had.i would fully disagree with the reviewers take on the ecosport.i find mine to be an outstanding little vehicle.

Thank you for your input. I currently lease a Ford EcoSport. It's about time to turn it in so this was helpful. I have no horse in this race as it is a lease but I would disagree with you. It is small, yes but it is very affordable, comfortable for the front seat and passenger. The tailgate is not awkward and opens for me once I release the handle. The gas mileage is not as good for a small crossover but OK. It has clearance in the snow which makes it better if you live where it snows. Good traction, sound system, and the tires are wearing very well and still good after three years. Dollar for dollar it is tough to beat as the price tag was low making our lease very low. Thanks just wanted to give some feedback on that model. I am glad you liked the TrailBlazer as it is on the short list. All the best!

@@Hard_Car_Life They are good, now, pay attention to this.
The engine will not last if you push oil change intervals. Don't listen to anyone if they tell you different. Change the oil at 3000 mi. One of my close friends is a tech at the Ford dealer and we were talking about them (I'm thinking about getting one) If you do the oil changes at 3000 mi, it will last for hundreds of thousand of miles.
One last thing. If it's the all wheel drive model, have the PTU fluid changed every 35,000 miles and ignore anyone who tells you differently.
I know this is the internet and you don't know me. I know what I'm talking about.
Do your first oil change at 1500 miles as the engine is breaking in, then every 3000 miles.
Have the PTU oil changed every 35,000 miles and you will be golden.
Write it down in your manual.
Best wishes from Chris in Las Vegas.

@@TheBandit7613 - Thank you Chris! I will do as you recommend. I really love my new EcoSport and it saddens me that video after video has it as one of the top worse cars to buy. I don't drive much and had a 2018 Ford Fiesta I bought new in 2019. It was delivered to me with only 300 miles straight from the dealer. In the 3 years I had my Ford Fiesta, it had 1 oil change. I only put 4000 miles on it in 3 years. I traded it in because the warranty ran out and an extended warranty would have cost me $123 more a month on top of my car payment. It was cheaper to buy a new car with a slightly larger payment. My EcoSport has everything I want in a car. As far as I'm concerned, its a keeper!
I love also how it shuts itself off at red lights to save on gasoline. Its so cool!
Thank you again for that great information. I so appreciate you writing that information because I'm feeling so bad about all the bad reviews on it. I enjoy driving it and its so damn stylish! So pretty too! I'm so glad someone finally said they're good! I feel so much better about my purchase now. I know in my heart its good! Thank you and God bless!

@@TheBandit7613 oh and I love all the bells and reminders it has. I carry a heavy overnight bag and put it in the backseat. When I shut off the car, it started a bell reminder and showed a picture of the backseat on the screen to not forget what's back there! I was like "WHAT??!!!" I Iove the push button start and the app to start it up before you get in to warm it up first! Its such a cool car! Its also rated a 4 out of 5 for safety. I don't know why these videos keep saying its unsafe. Its got airbags in the damn shoulders of the seats! Also, the dealership purchase contract has it as a "Ford Truck" not an SUV. Its a truck on paper. I can't help myself to just stare at it when I get out of it. Its that special! Thanks again fir your recommendations! Will do!

I have a 2022 EcoSport Titanium and I love it My only complaint is not a lot of power when I hit the highway. I work from home, so I don't drive it a lot. It was cheap to buy (I worked at Ford, so I got the A Plan discount) and I think it looks great. The interior looks good and the sound system sounds GREAT! I have a Trax, 2021, and I find it to be a great little SUV. In fact, it is the ONLY affordable (actually cheapest) vehicle that has most of what I wanted. I don't need high speed and high power. I was disappointed though that Chevy no longer sells the Cruz. These are two of the most inexpensive vehicles available for ordinary people and unless you want to pretend you are a professional driver or have something to prove, they are good cars and the most affordable for what you get.
P.S. And neither has had an important recall.

I have owned the Chevy equinox and Chevy Traverse. I liked how they drive but I have endless problems with both. Especially simple things like getting a headlight changed which needs the entire front of the car taken off so it costs 160.00$ just for that. My equinox had a sensory problem in the breaks which was very dangerous and no matter how many times I got it fixed it randomly came back each time... the heat went out alot too. Just an extreme nightmare with both these suvs. But I'm glad you're experiencing much better luck with yours! Please reconsider the two I've mentioned if you ever find yourself with that option. Hmmm. I have a Ford Ecosport and overall I think it’s a pretty nice little car. I do agree it could have better options like lane keeping, adaptive CC, and blind spot monitoring would be nice. But I like the tailgate being a door, I get pretty good gas mileage with AWD, and it has more than enough pep if you step on it. That and it’s built on the Ford Fiesta chassis, so for a compact, it has quite a bit of room. My 6’ friend sits in the back with plenty of room. And it has a lot more headspace than a Fiesta.
    We will see about reliability.
It’s cheaper and probably more reliable than a Countryman, much more comfortable and better pep than a Nissan Rogue and feels better built than a Jeep Compass. You mentioned any of its competitors would be better, but I honestly can’t think of many small SUVs that I’ve driven than feel better.
To each their own I guess.

Agreed, we actually bought one in December. Ford had some great rebates and we were able to use the college grad discount, so we walked away with a 4WD right at 20K. Those rebates have changed with the high cost and lack of cars on available, but it is great. I actually like the tailgate, and these things aren't new at all. They have been around in other countrys in some form for around 20 years and still are, it is just the US who likes the 15mpg trucks. I like the honesty of the reviews, however the thing that most miss, including this review, is the price impact. We call can not all afford these cars any more, and very very soon electric will take over so the game will change dramatically. It will be an "S" curve change like the internet, it will start a bit slow, then take off. The EcoSport drives great, and the 4cyl. has plenty of power so not sure where that came from. Living in a very snowy climate it has been terrific this winter in deep snow and ice. THe 3cyl. I am not as big of fan of, however Europe has used those for a long time with great success. Id say buy what you like and can afford but take care of it as best you can. It will most likely be fine. Very few cars sold today are bad.

I agree with the Ford Explorer review. I rented one last summer for a couple of weeks. Weird, slow/delayed gear shifting that left me blocking traffic. Odd console warnings that I needed to take a break after driving for 15 minutes. I turned off the lane-assist. It felt like it was going to spin out. Interesting experience.

My wife has a 2019 GMC Acadia with 40,000 miles and other than a shift into park issue at around 35k miles (repaired under warranty), has been an awesome vehicle, and really the wife and I together could not be happier with the Acadia All Terrain. Very comfortable to travel in, plenty of performance, completely satisfied with the power and the avg. 24/25 mpg from the 3.6, and I really wouldn't know what more a person would want from an SUV. Beautiful (buckskin/ebony) Leather (one of the nicer interiors avaible in any car), Decent sound/nav. system, BUT... One thing we don't like is the third seat!!! We have no use for a third seat and till this day, it is the only reason we wouldn't buy another Acadia. Totally in the way for our type of usage! Give us a flat floor to the second seats and allow them to lay completely flat too!!! Other than the seat issue, we have a fantastic vehicle and we purchased it with a 6yr./100k mile bumper to bumper warranty, so as of yet I would debunk your listing the Acadia as a bad choice. I am a guy who has probably owned over 80 vehicles and 80 motorcycles and swap anything I have qualms with but our Acadia isn't going anywhere for a while!

My husband had a 2018 Acadia All Terrain as a company and it was really nice and great to drive -- we loved it! Then I leased a 2018 base model 4-cylinder AWD Acadia and it felt like a cheap piece of junk. I was so glad to turn it in at the end of the lease. I think that the All Terrain and the Denali are very, very different from the regular, bare-bones Acadia -- not really the same vehicle.

My sister has had a 500X for 5 years and its been faultless. I helped her when we were cross-shopping other cars and the quality was generally miles ahead of comparable cars - it was sold her. I drive it occasionally and even though I loathe SUV with a passion I will admit it can be a blast.
Wait, there is more - I have had an Abarth 500 for 10 years - since new and ......even though its highly modified its been faultless (and it driven hard). And ...... also have an Abarth 124 Spider for 4 years and while the drive train is solid the Mazda build quality leaves a lot to be desired

I do all the maintenance myself, but replacing the battery was a pain in the behind I had to remove the left front wheel and wheel panel. Ordinary people want inexpensive cars and don't care about all the bells and whistles. My Trax is fine, but I really wanted another Cruz but they stopped making them because SUV unfortunately seems to be the latest craze. My Cruz actually could hold more cargo than my Trax. I did a lot of research when looking for my latest car, and there is no way to stay in the low 20 thousand dollar range and get a decent vehicle OTHER than the Chevy vehicles. He’s now even explaining WHY some of these cars are bad. Let me just say I have had both a Chevy spark 2014 and Chevy Trax 2021. I can say they are both ver reliable cars if you are looking for something in budget and spacious. I love my Trax more than my spark. They are good on gas and mileage. Only complaint is that they do not have a passenger side arm rest, having the AC on in the summers makes the car shake and the car stutters when going to fast. But no major problems and I’m only one year and 3 months in. Honestly gets what you want and or what you can afford.

Good enough advice and clear info but you are definitely using the term 'crossover' wrong. I worked for Nissan who invented the term Crossover for the Qashqai and it's a cross between a euro size hatchback and an SUV. So something like an Explorer or the GM one are not crossovers, they are HUGE, they're just plain old SUVs. The Ecosport or the Fiat are good example of Crossovers. The Qashqai is the yard-stick, so it's easy: if it's bigger than a Qashqai then it's not a Crossover, it's an SUV.

We don't consider the Ecosport to be a SUV in Europe. It's a small Crossover for cityuse. Not a fan way to compare it to what's "normal" for a SUV in the USA. We've been driving the 2019 Ford Ecosport Trend Ultimate for a little over 2 years now and are very satisfied (we see it as a pumped up Ford Escort with more space and a very handy tail door for short people) For Europe the 1.0 liter 125 HP engine (an award winning engine) is great for The Netherlands. But I also realize it all depends on what you are used to or looking for in a car (we did own a Dodge Dakota 3.9 liter before and also and old Buick LeSabre 3.8 Ltr V6.

The Outlander Sport is very reliable. Being its been made so long all the bugs have been worked out. Both I and my Mom had a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback with the 2.4 engine and CVT. Even though the warranty is industry leading (5 years/60K miles bumper to bumper and 100K powertrain) neither one of us had any warranty repairs done on them. Nothing but regular maintenance. Even now family members are still driving them and neither has needed any repairs. For two 12 year old cars to have nothing but normal maintenance amazing. So yeah, I disagree on your assessment that Mitsubishi reliability is "just OK". From our experience its stellar. Now is the Outlander Sport sophisticated and cutting edge? Absolutely not, but they're nearly bullet proof.

I test drove an EcoSport today after watching this video. It is a lot roomier in the front than the back as far as head space goes. It doesn't have a hard time speeding up on the freeway and is over all pretty smooth. Not to mention that the "awkward swinging back door" is actually really cool. It allows you to put taller items in without the door getting in the way and it is adjustable. Also, when you put the back seats down they can indeed lay flat.
I would say it isn't 100% quiet on the freeway, but it isn't as loud as people make it appear. Especially if it is being compared to my Toyota Yaris Hatchback which was noisy.
If I were to compare it to all the subcompact SUVs that I looked at and tested it is by far my favorite. Truly a pretty remarkable car for what it is.
