    17:39 Oh man for amount of money the stuff costs, i would have expected better fit. The big pieces left and right in relation to the center hatch would drive me nuts……thanks for sharing and your hard work to produce content!

      100% agree. The two lower corners around that cut out are not even close to being the same.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. I'm in the research phase of choosing a product and deciding whether or not to install it myself. Great walk through and super relevant information. Thanks again !!

    I'm glad TH-cam recommended this video. My boat is a Bluewater/Reinell 207 hull and the floor is marine plywood, not fiberglass, so this would look horrible if the complete floor is not covered. You saved me a ton of $$$s and hours of time. Although, adding this to our swim deck is still tempting. Great job on the video.

    my seadek is 10 years old and still fine. it has a few dog claw scratches and nicks in it, and i had a use surface contact cement to re-glue some pieces down, but otherwise the product lasts very well
    tips for making it last
    1. dont leave seadek exposed to sun. i no zero discoloring or fading from sun exposure even after 10 years, but in general sun destroys most things so minimize sun exposure
    2. dont let any water stay ponding on seadek - will cause the glue to release and piece will need reglued
    3. its not harmed by any chemical ive used to clean the boat
    4. grease and all other types of contaminants can get scrubbed out of seadek no problem
    5. it can get scratched/chipped, so keep metal objects like anchors off of it
    enjoy your seadek

    I may be missing this answer but how much did the kit cost? I have the exact same boat basically mine is an 03 207. I’m looking to get this done. The back of the carpet is deteriorating and black flakes are getting everywhere. Also I’d love to ask you a few questions about the boat if your ok with that.

    I have a 2005 SeaRay 240 sundeck, can you please tell me why you went with the grey and black, it looks great. My outside of the boat is dark Navy Blue, I thought about using Navy Blue on the swim platform, with a bimini blue or black underneath, what do you think?

    • @MileHighCampers
      @MileHighCampers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with grey and black to match my interior vinyl colors. When it comes to color choice I would take a look at all the combinations that they have available and I bet one will stand out to you!

  • @paulhartman7144
    @paulhartman7144 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I first of all have to commend you on the break down . You were very informative on what you did and how you did it . But there was the one area that would drive me crazy, the area around the hatch toward the back of the hatch looks disproportionate, so this is my question , did you overlook that part of the layout or did seadek just cut wrong ? I am not trying to belittle what you did at all so please don’t think that.I am just trying to figure out why it looks that way . You had precise template ! ( I don’t think that you would have drew it that way )

    The "Find Your Boat" section doesn't work anymore. So, you can't get a precut set for your particular boat. You have to have a "dealer" come out and template your boat, and/or install it for you. That brings in a huge amount of additional labor cost. I don't know why they did that, but I image it's just like car dealerships. Reduce their costs, and increase yours. I'd love to buy a precut set up, but you can't anymore. Might as well buy new snap in carpet.

  • @brianrodriguez3163

  • @russellparker3887

    what about the snap holes once the carpet was removed? Do you have to fill them in with a product or just cover with seadek?

    • @MileHighCampers
      @MileHighCampers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just installed over the holes, but I assume you could fill in the holes if you wanted to do.

    So what this this cost to do?

    • @MileHighCampers
      @MileHighCampers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I paid $1,912.98 but the cost is different for every kit, some considerably less, some more expensive, just depends on the boat and how much you are tying to do. You can also buy sheets of the material and cut it your self. I was in Cabela's the other day and I was surprised to see that they had a roll of it for sale. So you have some options. First thing I would do is call Seadek and see if they have a kit for your exact boat and than go from there. Thanks for watching the video!!

    • @MileHighCampers

      All the prices vary, best way to find out how much a specific kit would be for your boat would be to give seadek a call.

      Sadly the swim platform and the walk thru throws us over the top, I paid $1,912.98 (that was total with shipping). You can buy the cockpit and swim platform kits separately and like I said I would check around with some dealers to see if you can find a better price.
