Hello! My name is Evan and this is my tour of the stealth camper that I converted with the help of my dad. I lived out of this van for a whole year in San Francisco and currently live in Santa Cruz. My dad is a carpenter and with his help, I was able to create the cabinets which is the foundation of the conversion. I designed and built the entire plumbing and electrical system. This van is completely off-grid with a fully self-sustaining electrical system and a complete plumbing system. Despite how small the Nissan NV200 is, I was able to have a decent amount of storage space, due to the fact that I sacrificed the entire floor space.

You’ve hit the bulls eye. Stealth camping is the ultimate stress free way to go. For most van campers half of the stress is finding a place to park legally. What’s also impressive is that even if someone peered into the interior of the van they still wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s a camper because your sink and the cabinets are folded away or hidden. Wow, For the size of the van which looks like about the size of a mini van, you did an amazing job of utilizing every space to make everything work. The best part is the fact that you can park anywhere legally and no one would know you are camping. Hands down you have the best, most efficient and practical build I’ve seen so far.

I love the square 12v hotplate that has a matching glass Tupperware with lid and insulating bag to hold it in. That is brilliant and compact. It traps most of the heat in the bag. It occurred to me this is something that could be put into a backpack and used when at a library or gym to warm up food or liquids as well (I am thinking of some kind of wide-mouth thermos with heating coils to warm the liquid inside with 12v DC power source. As a matter of fact.. if the thermos is big enough inside. it could double as a food cooker like making stews or soups as well as anything else a person would cook in a pot over a stove or in a stove? and the thermal insulation would have insulation to hold the heat inside. The lid could be built with some kind of pressure release valve to keep it from building up to much pressure? this kind of coil heating thermos might be working about with a solar panel for people hiking and camping in the wilderness as well?

It takes a fit and flexible disciplined person to organize the intricacies exhibited in this van. This overweight old white man can but only marvel. I have seen different but similarly intricate micro van/small house living setups and it take the same inhabitant so described, to make it work. But by gosh, so many techniques to emulate. Save for the space I use up, I also van in a minimalist way and find that you think along the same lines. I presume you have back packed at some stage, for such folk see things differently.

I used to drive a truck for a living. People seemed surprised when they saw the interior of my cab. They'd say "wow it's so clean" I took that as a back handed compliment. But after having seen other truck drivers cabs I know why they were surprised. A lot of them live like animals. But then many truck drivers got into it because they're so dysfunctional they literally can't do anything else.

Instead of dealing with overpriced apartments, questionable roommates, spending their entire paycheck on things they don’t need, etc. I will show them your video to get inspired of being free, living simply, & be happy. You did an incredible job with your build. Also, you have my respects for adding a toilet & a shower. A SHOWER. I’ve seen so many conversions where people rely on others for toilet/shower. Well done my friend, well done.

I had a 1974 Ford E100 van when I was in college. I didn't live in it but I should have! I had bookshelves across the back, facing backwards. All my textbooks were on the shelves so between classes I would go to my van, open the back doors and swap one class's books for the next class's books.

This may be the most compact, functional van I have ever seen. The automakers should get in touch with Evan and hire him on a consulting basis to design more of these vans. Another reason why this stealth setup works so well is that Evan is a highly disciplined person who has his act together. This wouldn't work for an undisciplined, lazy person because there are a lot of moving parts necessary to make this setup work and keep it going.
