    Great job as with most projects patience is a must. I have used similar products before. I am getting ready to do same to my 17’ skiff mine is semi vee traditional Work style boat ( Eastern NC work skiff) with a well for setting nets or working crab pots.
    Looks like you got the seal of approval from your number 1 fan! You also earned mine! Thumbs Up!!! Have a blessed day!!

    To make the ruler and any other insert detail easier, lay out the larger sheets first, and tape them together. Flip it upside down, and cut the backer material around the ruler. This way when you peel the backer off, you can leave the area with the ruler intact. Then mark and cut out the ruler, and it should fit perfectly.

    Just a tip for people watching who plan to do the same. It’s not recommended to try to seam pieces, you’re better off leaving a 1/2” gap. Like the bow pieces would be fine with the gap and would look better with a gap around the edges and ruler

    Guy's he did a great job laying that down. Sadly he will be pealing it back up right about now a year later. This stuff falls apart fast dyes tree un you need extra adhesive and boy is it fun trying to get the adhesives back off. Buy the expensive stuff it's worth it in the end for the amount of prep and labor you have to do.

    • @derrickcassel
      @derrickcassel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven’t had any issues. I guess depending on the surface adhesion promoter wouldn’t be a bad idea but we’ve taken it out several times in the heat of the summer and it’s still holding strong for me. My boat stays in the barn when we’re not using it though so that will no doubt will help it last longer.
