    Seems to me like this panel needs backlight strobing and tunable Overdrive to be really awesome.

    I saw you test on BF1 game. Can you try on both on 360hz and 500hz. Im planning to upgrade, if 500hz performs better then I go for ot

    You get this if you want the best motion clarity. But you would need another 500hz on top of those 500 to mimic what a CRT can do at 60. They need to spend more time and resources into black frame insertion .

    • @GamerichGame
      @GamerichGame ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "to mimic what a CRT can do at 60"
      You overstimate the CRT a little too much here. lmao
      Good backlight strobing at 240Hz (like Zowie does) is already very clear.

    • @sogetsu60
      @sogetsu60 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GamerichGame Indeed it does. But without the strobe, you would need 1000. It is the nature of sample and hold technology. If you have an lcd screen that has less than 16 ms of response time , or an oled with much faster response time, at 60 hz, the blur is going to be the same.

    • @aseed89
      @aseed89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Richard Gamerich-R i think u underestimate crt. I remember the life like fluidity like it was yesterday. Idk how smooth the zowie 360hz is but the 240hz is no match for a crt

    • @kozodoev
      @kozodoev 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's absurd, most CRTs are themselves only 60hz, your'e confusing pixel persistence with refresh rates. CRTs have about 2ms pixel persistence. You can get the same even on 60hz LCD/OLED with strobing.

    The 360 hz alienware monitor doesn't have gsync. I just picked this up for $599 because it's only $150 more than the 360 hz. No chance I would pay the MSRP of $829

    This is why I'll wait till they make a high speed OLED. I have both the 360 Hz and the AW3432DW (The OLED) and I personally prefer the OLED and use it the most. Then again it does have one of the best color spaces for a monitor in existence. Pixel response/speeds are a non-issue.

    i have the alienware 1080p 360hz monitor and i love this monitor, i can't even tell the difference between 240hz and 360hz so 500hz is overkill. but yeah 144hz and 240hz is a BIG difference imo

      I went from 144Hz to 240Hz recently and honestly the change in refresh hasn't been all that noticeable yet, I mainly did it for the higher quality display panel and HDR over my current so honestly I can't see the appeal of 500Hz

    • @nothuman4699

      @@UnrealHighlights true, im using AW2723DF, but everything looks so bright when im turning on HDR and looks better when it off..

    • @UnrealHighlights
      @UnrealHighlights ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nothuman4699 I went for the Odyssey G6 and for general usage with work I turn the HDR off as it's completely unnecessary for that kind of stuff and but for certain games and videos it's night and day when HDR is on. RE4 remake and Dead Space look fantastic with it on. Took a little tweaking to get the brightness' between SDR and HDR about the same though as thankfully the monitor detects whether HDR is on or not through Windows and has separate pictures settings for both SDR and HDR which means I don't have to mess with the brightness/contrast etc whenever I turn it on or off

    • @YasukeNakamoto
      @YasukeNakamoto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@UnrealHighlights maybe for you, but for me I can tell the difference between 144 and 240. Especially in games like valorant. My monitor now is 300hz but I’m waiting for my cpu to test it out. Above 240 I doubt there’s a huge difference. But 144 -> 240 is very noticeable.
