To everyone upset that I own comics I haven’t read yet… weird.
I haven’t read them yet because I haven’t exactly mastered how to make comic videos just yet and I’d like to save them for when I’m more comfortable working with comic content.
I don’t want to do a disservice to the most iconic Batman stories.
I don’t know why anyone is taking that personally.
Why did you reupload?
Well. That would'ev been nice if you read the comics first before watching the movie.
I kinda do take it personally as a Batman fan.
@@GothamKnight84661yes because he didn't read the comic specifically to hurt you and only you. Does this mean everyone who hasnt read all the Harry Potter, Walking Dead, or Game of Thrones books arent allowed to watch their movies / shows? Watching and reviewing a movie takes alot less time than to sit down and read through an entire book, regardless if it's a graphic novel or not, and he does have other things he needs to do apart from making youtube videos.
For anyone that was upset that you didn’t read the comic yet is a cornball, please go be upset about something else lmao
Dude I have thousands of comics and I’ve probably only read a quarter of them. You’re a true collector my friend.
Felt like a very unique Batman movie. Falcone as the front-and-centre villain is a very fresh choice, with a large supporting cast of rogues who did bit-parts... since the supervillain gallery are only there to add flavour and remind the viewer it's a Batman film, the story plays a lot of them against-type and gets some laughs out of them. And in particular I liked how they chose to portray the relationship between Bruce and Selena, which seems to accept that they've spent so many years on-off-on-off-on that they basically are soulmates and best friends. Yes, it's easy to deduce who the villain was, by looking at MO, motive, and throwaway dialogue, but the drama is very well done, and the ending, although sad, is optimistic.
Dude, it’s all based from the comic
They nailed everything. The Falcones, Calendar Man... Also, the neat animation gives it a unique design (even if most Tomorrowverse movies look like this) as in the original The Long Halloween comic.
Shame the universe is ending after Crisis on Infinite Earths. A short run, but for the most part, a good run.
@@panfilip9963 Yeah apparantly Gunn or WB wants the universes to be more cohesive with the upcoming canon so they are canning it for another redo. I mean I have mixed feelings as I feel it had a lot of potential but I would be lieing if I said its had some shares of duds. More so than the previous animated universe. Still I think they should have kept it going a few more years.
@@panfilip9963they were going to do Kingdom Come after Crisis, FUCKING Kingdom Come. Gunn better have something better I swear to God
Funny thing about the book, before I graduated myself out of high school I took this book from the Library. Still have it
This movie in my opinion has to be the best animated Batman film, it has such a better look than the animated DC universe not to mention the voice acting is better and overall it just feels like it has the best production value
In the comics, and perhaps there was an extended version of this movie where they did something similar, Alberto Falcone revealed himself to be the holiday killer until TWIST! - Gilda Dent is revealed to the readers alone to have actually been the killer, until TWIST- we find that she didn't commit all the murders, and it was probably Harvey committing the others, with her figuring it out early on but him not realizing until after his transformation. Batman and Gordon never learn the full truth, believing Alberto committed all the crimes
Omg the book is so good!!!! If anyone loves a classic detective and mob family story then you’ll love it! I love how the main focus isn’t too much on Batman and being a dark dark Batman, but shows Batman being a great detective and shines light more on a realistic crime family. It has jaw droppers on every page and the who done it plot truly pays off. It’s a phenomenal story and has the best stories for each character!
The Long Halloween is my favorite Batman comic. Having said that,I think this two part adaptation was very wise to go in a different direction with the art style.
Gotta love Jensen Ackles as batman, loved him as Red Hood and specially as Dean
This is my favorite animated Batman movie and I’ve seen most of not all of them. This is the most well done animated movie to me. The art style and Ackles as Batman owns.
My biggest problem with the movie is not paying any homage to the original artwork of the graphic novel, imo it’s my favorite book and the art work stands out, the late great Tim Sale did his best, and in the artistry of the movie it’s not the same , so they change it which I can be fine with but they don’t change it to be any Better, it becomes worst, so yea this kinda takes me out the movie and i would rather just read the book again
for the holiday killer, one other way to have hid him could’ve been to not have as MANY close-ups! like damn, if the killer supposed to be a mystery for us to figure out, cloak him in an eternal shadow & say it’s from the hat or something! would’ve been 10 times more believable to me
I know im a little late to this one but as someone actually with Disassociative Identity Disorder, i completely agree with your take on Two-Face in this, he feels a lot more accurate in this than other stuff I've seen of him, though still obviously cartoonish/sensationalised. I wish there were more characters with DID who weren't villains but it was still cool as a kid being able to relate to one of the best batman villains
I... I felt like I heard you talk about this movie before. This isn't a re-upload is it?! Still watched it all the way through, always enjoy your videos! Have a good one!
As mediocre of an adaptation I thought it was I admit they did a really great job with Two-Face for the most part. The only thing I really didn't like was Batman being the one to give Harvey his coin because his comic origin of the coin first belong to Harvey's father and him flipping the coin to decide whether or not he would beat Harvey as a kid, the coin always landing on heads is just way more interesting.
This movie cinematography is outstanding.
I know you have not read the book, but the death of Alberto Falcone is actually important to let you know they are making the story different, because and again I know you have not read the comic, but spoiler alert, he was one of the people who was the holiday killer, he is alive also till the sequel in Dark Victory so it was a great way to surprise the viewer. Anyways good video my dude
Finally , someone is actually talking abt this movieeeeee!!
I really liked these movies, but there is one issue I have with them both…
The physical covers do not line up properly.
The movie and comic are some of the best Batman stuff I’ve read or watched
Oh dude thank you for correcting the Ackles😂
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel
I love this video and channel
Thanks you for your video and channel
I love DC comics Batman all franchise
"Far and few between."
Vee, look that phrase up, please.
I saw the twist coming ever since Alberto got shot. It was so obvious it was Gilda.
I didn't understand the end for a while because the holiday killer was simply not the same character as Gilda at all. I kept thinking I missed somthing like she had a partner or something
Yes! Falcone and the crime world front and center. Its why I love the live action Gotham show. It has so much potential in its concept. Some scenes (very few of them lol) just HIT.
The Long Halloween is Two-Face's origin story, depending on which canon you're going off of.
Wait what was that pronounceation on Jensens last name
Theres a pretty good jump between the first and the second i think thats why they prly split it into 2 films. 2nd films leads directly into the poison ivy portion of the story
Chad Hamilton? It’s Josh Duhamel!
I see this as a trilogy, Year One, The Long Halloween 1 & 2.
Love it
But there's The Dark Knight Returns, which is literally the same universe as Year One. Both are by Frank Miller.
@@BigBossSquirtle Very true, I consider that the second trilogy with Red Hood's movie in the mix
@VeeInfuso Naya Rivera was the Fox show Glee, if you ever saw that. I can’t think of anything else offhand what else she did.
I would watch a movie based on Batman Odyssey!
They will probably re release the flim as one disk as they did with the dark knight returns. My personal favorite.
The only reason I was fine with Alberto's death being the end of the first movie, was because my friends and I were convinced he was thus universe's Riddler.
Like bro is constantly seen doing crosswords or whatever, getting shouted at by his father, sometimes for being stupid while Alberto is smarter (or atleast thinks he is) than him. Went to college but still kinda does nothing and won't take over the family.
We legit thought he'd become the Riddler, maybe after a name change and I also suspected he was Holiday (his identity is a secret afterall and he does leave calling cards).
So it was a good ending for us, since a bunch of theories for part 2 went out the window. But yea, if you don't believe that, or read the novel, its just a random ending.
That's also another good thing about detective Batman movies, lets you guess along who the culprit is, we did the same with Gotham by Gaslight.
These DC Animated films are well known to have small budgets and short run times, averaging around 75 minutes.
In some cases, if they want to properly adapt a story, they'll extend a budget and split a story in two parts.
I swear I’ve seen this video before it came out
It’s a Final Cut. Meaning it’s a fixed/updated version of the video. I included a background track and took out moments that were more focused on me than the actual product.
@@VI_V2 that makes more sense
My Man has been dropping videos like crazy last few days! Love it! Keep up the great work My G! 🤘🏽🫡
Maybe I missed something but who is Chad Hamilton? I thought Josh Dumael voiced Harvey/Two-Face?
Kinda confused myself. Because it is josh dumael.
He starred in the movie "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!" (as Tad). Idk why he's calling him Chad, though.
Yeah this was one of the greatest Batman movies ever made cause for one thing Batman/Bruce was actually balanced and Catwoman/Selina was very sexy and more of the MVP vigilante than a cat burglar who was really helping him out more often too and I'm glad she already knew Bruce was Batman. Those two even got together at the end!
I love ur videos but I wish you’d include audio when u show clips sometimes especially when talking about voice actors or sound mixing
Reupload?
I like Vee Infuso…this channel just does it right.
I just bought the deluxe edition which Is both movies as one continuous movie so it’s over 2hrs long.
5:49 LMAO 🤣 UR the best brother!!
Brevity is the soul of wit.
I love love the long Halloween animated movie top 5 Batman movies ever imo
Oh, first viewer...love that timing!!!
Love your vids VI!!!❤😊
Batman long Halloween was such a great movie in my opinion.
How long ago was this video made it says 2 days ago but it talks about part 2 not being out
Happy holiday!!
i love the movie and the graphic novel, this movie is by far the best part of the tomorrowverse
Happy Holiday!!!
Happy holiday
One of the first batman stories I've ever read, i thought the comic was pretty good!
Why is there a clip of GTA5 next to the joker when Vee talks about his haircut?
Oh cmon man that spoiler alert was too short…. I wanted to get some feedback before I decide if I want to buy this or not and until the end it was pretty spoiler free.
The animated DC movies are all budgeted for 70 minutes of animation. You've noticed they're all exactly the same length dating back to Mask Of The Phantasm, right? That's why. They split it in half because that's the only way they could make a longer story. Just like the Superman Doomsday movies or TDKR
Also, I've heard you say "far and few between" a few times. The expression is actually "few and far between." Far and few between doesn't actually make sense. Few and far between means rare or scarce. There are *few* examples and there is time or distance separating them, making them *far between.* So that's the correct form of the expression
I would have liked a porcelain mask for the Holiday Killer actually.
I love your videos vee. Long time subscriber. Got the bell checked and everything. But really man?
You're going to mention over and over that you didn't read the comic, even though you have it on your shelf? It's like a two hour read.
You can watch the film multiple times, take notes, write a script, record audio, and edit the video but you can't take two hours to read the comic it's adapted from? That's nuts my dude.
Happy hollandaise
Yes it is
Slight nitpick lol. You said far and few between. It’s a dumb thing to comment, I know, but I think few and far between means there’s not many times it happens and when it does a long time passes before it happens again, so I’m not sure far and few between makes sense. Great video, I’m just overthinking a slip of the tongue probably.
Let’s hear your top ranking of the movies
Happy holiday yo
Yeah its a good movie, really one of the high points of the tommorverse. Makes it a real shame they are ending the universe with the upcoming movies.
What are some of your favorite bat books V? Come on! If you won't do comic videos, at least tell us here! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Happy Holiday
Jensen Ackles as Batman is perfect
She was in glee really how do you not know that
I’ll be the one to do it: HAPPY HOLIDAY
Hey vee have u seen merry little batman
🦇👍
u have a happy holiday
Hey Vee. I was wondering to how you would feel if Jensen Ackles played the live action Batman in the DCU? There are rumors speculating that he might. Either him or Alan Ritchson.
Jensen would be interesting. I wanted Jared Padalecki to play Superman at some point. And I want Alan Ritchson to play Reacher for another ten years lol.
I liked these movies (part 1 especially) but the ending to part 2 kind of soured the movie for me, it just felt un Batman like for him to let a villain go
Bout time you talked about this masterpiece!
I trhink he released this video two years ago
Vee, are you following me? I just watched this movie yesterday.
I can’t say it’s the best Batman movie because Under the Red Hood is tops to me
I am glad they made Catwoman a muscle mommy to match the comics
Nice 👍
yes, i believe it's pronounced like tackle
Please do a justice league gods and monsters video please!!
5:16 I DON’T KNOW!
Is it just me or did this release 2 years ago?
It was okay.
I want more Batman movies like this and less time travel what if rid bullshit. I want key batman characters especially villains in the comics most famous stories... Knightfall for example. Long Halloween has always been my favorite story and the movie did the story justice but why not do more in this vain. Stay away from new 52. Twoface is my favorite batman villain too. Lets get more Twoface, Ras, Bane, Riddler, Scarecrow, Black Mask, Freeze, etc... I want more 80s- like 12....
I really enjoyed this movie, and it's based on one of my favorite comic books, but I'm going to say something that's going to make a lot of people mad:
I was never on the Jensen Ackles as Batman hype train, and I certainly wasn't overly impressed with his voice acting here.
Honestly I like him in the role BUT I really want more of Jeremy Sisto as Batman
u talked about this a million times
Ik this is a very pedantic nitpick, but I have one veeeeery small problem with the character design. Bruce Wayne and Batman have two different chins, and that drives me insane. It's a very small thing to notice, but once you see it, you can't unsee it😭
A lot of you are talking about this, as if all of the ideas are new are thrown out on the spot. When it’s literally based on one of the most talked about Batman comics. I’m not saying this compliments don’t still stand, but it’s great because it’s quite literally the source material put on screen.
Isn't this a reupload?
Jensen Ackles as the Batman, huh
It’s pretty much The Godfather, but with more precise layers. So, it’s better than The Godfather
I loved part one but part two was kind of a mess
You should watch Batman ninja 🥷 the Japanese dub
Its better than The Killing Joke and Hush, but not better than The Dark Knight Returns or Tower of Babel (Justice League Doom) adaptations. I even liked Gotham by Gaslight more. This one is just in the middle of the pack for me. The comic is so much better. Read it
If I was raising a child in Gotham and didn't have billions of dollars, there's no way I'd raise them right. I'd make sure they had tons of trauma and personality. Regular decent people who live in Gotham, either go the henchman route or the cop route, neither are good for their health. But most of the villains, big or small, have a personal billionaire caretaker who wants to be their friend. Yea, he also beats the shit out of them, but usually because they're trying to kill a bunch of people. Either that, or just move out of Gotham. I'd rather be a homeless family anywhere else, than live a regular life in Gotham.
Before these essays.. why not read the COMIC BOOK. It's a comic book. It's not exactly sprawling and then you'll like.. understand what you're talking about.
Im sorry but I dont think you should be making a review about this film without reading The Long Halloween first. That comic is genuinely one of the best Batman stories ever made, not only for the story but for the art style alone. This movie has the same honesty boring art style as all of the other dc animated movies, it doesn’t do it justice.
