Jensen Ackles is doing an amazing job as Batman, I can’t wait to hear more from him as Batman in part two. Naya Rivera also in my opinion did a great job as Catwoman, God rest her soul 🙏
The Long Halloween story is my personal favourite Batman story and I think they did a great job with adapting the first part of this story in animation. I'm super excited for Part Two, and hopefully if the second part is good, we could eventually see an animated adaptation of Batman: Dark Victory (the sequel to Batman: The Long Halloween and the third installment to a trilogy of books, beginning with Batman: Year One, then this story and ending with Batman: Dark Victory).
Selina shouting out Bruce's Name at the end was so out of character of Catwoman She's always so smooth with it. No way Selina would ever slip up like that
@TenseDart Sadly it looks like an accidental drowning. They were swimming on a Lake and a rift came and make things difficult for the two. Her son had a life jacket but she didn't. She had used the last bit of her energy to save her 4 year old son but struggled to save herself. She will be loved and missed dearly.😥
The Long Halloween is one of my favorite Batman storylines. This was a solid adaptation. I liked the quiet, subdued tone. A lot of Batman adaptations miss that mood even though Batman is supposed to be an introverted and mysterious character.
I enjoyed this batman story the murder mystery aspect felt really good and the atmosphere and tone felt completely different from other batman stories I've seen it felt more dark and gritty
I'm like the idea that catwoman was there from the start, like what was introduced in the "Gotham" series. She knows who batman is because she was there from the start. She was in crime ally and witnessed Thomas and Martha's murder. She was young Bruce's friend. Her evolution to catwoman was parallel to Bruce's evolution to batman.

The Long Halloween book is fine, I feel like it’s reputation greatly outweighs the quality of the story. Similar to Hush, Loeb kinda throws a bunch of unnecessary villains in to stretch for time. The reveal of Holiday is a pretty undeveloped twist too, so hopefully the movie can make that aspect work better.
Maybe your system just sucks because it sounded fine on mine could make out all the dialogue in the Batman/Catwoman scene in question. Also "events followed by credits"? You mean like every film in existence?
I love batman as a detective. But here the batman plays only a second fiddle to Catwoman. Hell, she even already knew his secret identity and saves his ass from time to time. I understand that Batman was in his early days, but he's still batman.
Why is everyone so racist and calling Falconi 'the Roman'. How dare they strip him of humanity and just label him based on where he came from. It doesn't make it better than saying Italian, its wrong for the same reason because labeling based on non-character issues is wrong
If you love the movie than definitely check out the graphic novel, just in case they stick with the same killer. Hopefully they do and don’t Hush it up.

This is kind of funny because I personally gave the movie a okay/good rating. I didn't think it was amazing I thought it was above average. And I still kind of think that.
I understand why the artstyle would be hard to translate, but i don't understand why they couldn't use the same character designs. Why can't Catwoman wear purple anymore? All of her recent appearances have her with black and small ears, i was hoping this movie would break that streak.
I actually thought The Long Halloween: Part 1 was the weakest of the Batman Animated Movies. It was very predictable. And the pacing was sluggish as hell.
While it’s not as bad as the killing joke the animation is so jarring I couldn’t finish it. I love the book, and the art makes all the difference, this fails in that regard. Though nowhere near as bad, it reminds me of berserk the manga vs berserk 2017 - it takes you out of the experience.

Really liked that they gave Catwoman a costume closer to her TAS one. Nothing against TLH Catwoman's design, I just have a massive amount of nostalgia for that design, and think it's one of the best costumes associated with the character.

Just praying Matt Reeve's The Batman is something like this. Just a pure Noir crime drama with less emphasis on action and more on Batman figuring out things.

It's the point I realize that even the actual culprits are gonna be really different. His death wasn't clear in the novel and that's an important plot point. Here, he is definitely dead as hell.
Long Halloween part 1 is the best animated Batman movie in a long time! All that’ll matter is they keep the original twist ending of the book in part 2 and this’ll be my favorite next to phantasm.
The art style is called Dark Deco, is borrowed from the Batman The Animated Series, who animated comes from dark pages, instead of white pages, also, add to the genre, because the adaptation is made like a film noire, I also read the The Long Halloweed but I didn't reached to the end, I love the plot twist, add to the noire genre, everyone is untrustworthy, everyone has secrets, and everyone is corrupt.

For someone like me that lived the hype at that time with the novel, month by month, this new animated film is just a no.... i've too much love for the original material. There was the possibility to do something great.... there WAS... but like the Killing Joke, another masterpiece, the animated movie is just something forgettable. Okay to me I just wanted to see Tim sales style interpreted in an animated movie. A little disappointed but honestly if it were me I would’ve tried to go back to more like a Bruce timm look for this movie. Also Roberto was holiday in the comic. It seems they probably want Harvey to be holiday which would make sense if they continue into the dark victory story
I highly reccomemend the Batman Telltale series. Two Face is in Season 1 and has a pretty cool friendship dynamic with Bruce if you choose to take that path. Joker in Season 2. or should I say "John Doe" the new fresh portrayal of Joker is absolutely amazing. The fact that you can even be friends with him is something else I've never seen.

It's refreshing to see that the batman animated movies haven't lost their touch after Batman Hush and the first half of the Killing joke. Honestly they could have extended certain pieces of the comic to make the killing joke more ... More.
I loved this movie so much. In fact, I actually believe the sequel will make me live these animated movies a lot more, this is by far the greatest Batman movie I’ve ever seen
I just wish that along with mentioning his time on Smallville you were familiar with Supernatural so you could have mentioned Jensen's phenomenal 15 years there. But that's not your fault. Although, even people who don't watch Supernatural would just have to watch the top Dean Winchester moments to know what a talent Jensen is. His range is phenomenal. That's Red Hood and Batman to his CV and he will be Soldier Boy in the Boys soon. I hope one day when WB is picking another veteran type Batman Jensen is top of the list. He has the perfect Goofball Range Bruce must put on while having the brooding Dark side Batman needs and he has the right look. Needs to happen one day. Great video, man. On the whole cliffhanger ending I would argue its a fitting narrative choice to close the movie at besides the “Moar Money” reason. For people who didn’t read the book, Alberto getting killed is actual helps further the mystery behind Holiday and plays off the classic murder mystery trope of misdirection by luring us to believe Alberto is the killer only to subvert it. As for people who read the comics, well spoilers since you admit to not reading the whole book, this is an interesting change from the story as Alberto is IN FACT Holiday by the end of the story, and the death scene in the movie actually mirrors his “death” in the comics. The difference however is that in the comics his fake death was just a misdirection and was indeed for the most part left ambiguous as we never really saw the body.; where’s in this movie he pretty much fucking dead after getting shot and falling in the ship propeller. Honestly, as someone who remembers the oriiginal story back in high school (I have really good memories) this ending has me raising a lot of questions and intrigue as its possible that they changed the killer to give a different experience from the comics. Or, perhaps, Holiday is still Alberto and his death in the movie is a convoluted misdirection. Either way, I definitely want to know how this all plays out in Part 2
I wouldn't mind if the twist is that a certain DA's wife is behind the killings, like how the story ended with her escape, but yeah, they'll either have all of the killings pinned on that one person or have Alberto return somehow. If he does return, I would also want to see the scene of Calendar Man asking if they have "caught her yet" after Alberto gets taken in, implying that there is more than one killer, and an ending scene right before the credits of her packing up and leaving... Also, it's been a looong time since I've read it, so my memory might be fuzzy, haha.
That scene from the Dark Knight is actually inspired by that scene in The Long Halloween.

I loved the ending of this video, that’s so awesome
As someone who hasn’t read the comic I am intrigued by the mystery, but afraid that it will be predictable. I’m not reading anything until part 2 comes out just so I can experience this movie story through new eyes

Okay to me I just wanted to see Tim sales style interpreted in an animated movie. A little disappointed but honestly if it were me I would’ve tried to go back to more like a Bruce timm look for this movie. Also Roberto was holiday in the comic. It seems they probably want Harvey to be holiday which would make sense if they continue into the dark victory story

I highly reccomemend the Batman Telltale series. Two Face is in Season 1 and has a pretty cool friendship dynamic with Bruce if you choose to take that path. Joker in Season 2. or should I say "John Doe" the new fresh portrayal of Joker is absolutely amazing. The fact that you can even be friends with him is something else I've never seen.

The ending was hilarious
It's refreshing to see that the batman animated movies haven't lost their touch after Batman Hush and the first half of the Killing joke.
Honestly they could have extended certain pieces of the comic to make the killing joke more ... More.

I loved this movie so much. In fact, I actually believe the sequel will make me live these animated movies a lot more, this is by far the greatest Batman movie I’ve ever seen

That new art style they tried out in Man of Tomorrow actually looks fantastic for batman stories so far
I just wish that along with mentioning his time on Smallville you were familiar with Supernatural so you could have mentioned Jensen's phenomenal 15 years there. But that's not your fault. Although, even people who don't watch Supernatural would just have to watch the top Dean Winchester moments to know what a talent Jensen is. His range is phenomenal. That's Red Hood and Batman to his CV and he will be Soldier Boy in the Boys soon. I hope one day when WB is picking another veteran type Batman Jensen is top of the list. He has the perfect Goofball Range Bruce must put on while having the brooding Dark side Batman needs and he has the right look. Needs to happen one day. Great video, man. Been so hyped for this adaptation. Thanks
On the whole cliffhanger ending I would argue its a fitting narrative choice to close the movie at besides the “Moar Money” reason.
For people who didn’t read the book, Alberto getting killed is actual helps further the mystery behind Holiday and plays off the classic murder mystery trope of misdirection by luring us to believe Alberto is the killer only to subvert it.
As for people who read the comics, well spoilers since you admit to not reading the whole book, this is an interesting change from the story as Alberto is IN FACT Holiday by the end of the story, and the death scene in the movie actually mirrors his “death” in the comics. The difference however is that in the comics his fake death was just a misdirection and was indeed for the most part left ambiguous as we never really saw the body.; where’s in this movie he pretty much fucking dead after getting shot and falling in the ship propeller.
Honestly, as someone who remembers the oriiginal story back in high school (I have really good memories) this ending has me raising a lot of questions and intrigue as its possible that they changed the killer to give a different experience from the comics. Or, perhaps, Holiday is still Alberto and his death in the movie is a convoluted misdirection. Either way, I definitely want to know how this all plays out in Part 2
I wouldn't mind if the twist is that a certain DA's wife is behind the killings, like how the story ended with her escape, but yeah, they'll either have all of the killings pinned on that one person or have Alberto return somehow.
If he does return, I would also want to see the scene of Calendar Man asking if they have "caught her yet" after Alberto gets taken in, implying that there is more than one killer, and an ending scene right before the credits of her packing up and leaving...
Also, it's been a looong time since I've read it, so my memory might be fuzzy, haha.

The art of the graphic novel is so bad. I liked the story as I read it though, I liked it .
