The one advantage that Spider-man's Rogues gallery has over Batman's, is villain teams. The Sinister Six is the most iconic villain team, Batman's usually have smaller team ups, and usually just use minions.
@@Pandemia616 Spider-Man being the most famous hero doesn’t automatically make the sinister six the most famous villain group. @jeremyfields9009 Sinister Six were the main villains of the most popular Spiderman game of all time and the most recent movie. The Legion haven't featured in any major media as an actual team in a long time.
Batman has the best villains ever. I feel like the Lizard and Man-Bat have more in common because Man-Bat is trying to cure his deafness, and Lizard is trying to regrow his arm. @@oluwadamilola6233 He does. Only his villains are skilled in martial arts and are highly intelligent which makes them more realistic since most of them don't have powers.
You're showdown between Batman and Spider-Man Villains was pretty interesting but here"s my perfect match ups for each of them: Bane Vs Kraven The Hunter Man-Bat Vs The Lizard Two-Face Vs Venom Riddler Vs Electro Penguin Vs Doc Oct Kingpin Vs Ra's Al Ghul Simon Hurt Vs Morlun
In the Raimi series Connors is still mentioned to be his teacher. It’s his class that he is writing a paper for & Harry gives him the chance to meet his mentor, Otto Octavius, who is working for Oscorp.
Lizard vs Man-Bat is a better comparison. They're both good doctors who tried to use science to help the world, by giving them animal attributes. But something went wrong & turned both of them into human/animal hybrids who the hero had to find a cure for.
This was a great video dude, and I think the results definitely make sense in the end. Although, I personally would've swapped Two Face for Mr. Freeze when going up against Connors. I just think they go way more in common. Their both scientists who are deep down good individuals, but circumstances usually beyond their own choices lead them down to villainy. But above all? Their each Batman & Spider-Man's most tragic villians, respectively. I mean ya, don't get me wrong I feel bad for Harvey but you can't tell me you feel more sympathy for him rather than the scientist whose only doing the things he's done to try and save his wife's life.
I think it's a but unfair mentioning Superior Spider-man for Doc Ock but not mentioning Reformed Riddler where he tried to beat Batman at his own game to show he was smarter legally.
Something you forgot to mention about the cruelties of Norman Osborne is what he did from beyond the grave to Spidey's baby. He ensured that MJ gave birth to a stillborn.
Batman's villains are the most iconic in history. Every rogues gallery wishes they had what Batman has in the OG rogues and just the complex and rich dichotomy between Joker and Batman is in a league of its own.
Great comparisons! Would definitely love to see a Part 2 in the future, as there are so many more villains that can be compared to one another. That being said, I would personally put Boomerang over Deadshot in this list, Fred's just way too cool, strutting around the streets with that getup like an absolute champ.
@@MrToonsy basically riddler had a mental snap then decided to just live is life as an untouchable person, if batman or any law enforcement touch him he eliminates their loved ones or in batmans case a random person he even blackmails the rest of gothams crime lords to pay him, batman kills riddler because their is no other choice the police or criminal world won't touch him and the only thing protecting him is batmans own code
The Riddler is my favourite villain. it's a shame he's not used more. I love the fact that he's so clever he could solve near enough anything he wanted, but he only wants to PROVE he's the best, and the best is Batman.
Spider-Man will always be my favorite superhero. However, I would have to give this to Batman. Both are amazing, but Joker honestly seals the deal (even though he is used too much).

My mind agrees with 9 out of 9 of these, but my heart can only give you 8. Deep down I know that Doc Ock is the more significant foe to Spidey than Riddler is to Bats, but Riddler is just my personal favorite supervillain of all time. As a fellow wiseass who loves riddles and puzzles (and hidden collectibles in open world games), Riddler just hits on every level for me. Probably BECAUSE of how much I like Riddler, Zero Year was one of my favorite comic arcs ever and Battinson my favorite Batman movie, which creates this sort of feedback loop of liking him even more. But yes, my mind knows that it had to go to Doc Ock 😩
Spider-Man and Batman just have everything. The most iconic suits, the best villians, have great tv series in the 90s and 2000's and have a Trilogy in the 2000's that showed how great Comic Book movies can be. Not to mention have lots of hot babes in their life. Vicky Vale, Talia Al Ghul, Catwoman and Wonder Woman for Batman. Mary Jane/Spinneret, Gwen Stacy, Black Cat and Silk for Spider-Man. They both have a child with one of these women. Bruce has Damian Wayne with Talia and Peter has Anna May Parker/Spiderling with MJ. Yeah Spider-Man and Batman just have it all. It's no wonder why they are the most famous and inconic superhero of Marvel and DC respectively.
The problem with Riddler is often the question of how to show his intellect. Doc-Oc and other comic geniuses often show their intellect by delving into science fiction to create incredible inventions with no explanations as to how they work. But the Riddler is not a mad scientist, he's a plotter, and the only way for the Villain to plan a genius scheme is for the writer to plan a genius scheme.
i definitley agree that joker is 100 percent a better villan than green goblin but i still think spiderman has the better villans overall, i wish characters like kraven, electro, and carnage wouldve made it in this video showing how good spiderman villans are
I think you forgot a very good Bane story: Arkham Origins. It portrayed him as a big and intelligent threat, he played a giant part of the story and is easily his best adaptation since his introduction IMO
I think the two of them swapping villains would be funny. Firstly they're both have the right skills and resources to help reform the more sympathetic villains in the other's rogue's gallery. Secondly fighting each-other's archenemies would be entertaining: two therapy-needing rich guys in Halloween costumes go head-to-head while a second-rate comedian encounters his biggest weakness-a heckler. Also Bane has had some great stories, they're just Bane stories rather than Batman stories (Secret Six, Arkham War).
Batman is in a league of its own, both Batman and Joker got 1st place for hero and villain where as Spiderman got 2nd in the hero list but for villains the 2nd place was a villain from the X-men.
Not putting Kraven here is crazy. I also would have done an extra character and put Mr. Negative in against someone. Or hell Deathstroke vs task master lol.
The irony is Spidey always wins the match up between the Heroes. Spidey having Venom/Carnage, Goblins, Lizard, Ock, Kingpin, Electro, Kraven, Vulture, Rhino, Black Cat, Scorpion, Hydro man, Sandman and Mysterio seem like the bigger threats(not all but still). Bat’s rogue seems more a cake walk for Spidey..I think Peter’s toughest bout would be Scarecrow(maybe Joker too). Villains from both are definitely iconic with some similar foes but I’d choose Spidey’s everytime.
@@mike_datzmag1c21this isn’t about who wins in a fight. It’s using some metatextual analysis and overall pop culture impact to determine which character is better as a villain. Green Goblin might beat Joker in a fight, but he’s nowhere NEAR as popular or narratively interesting in a lot of peoples’ opinions.
Joker is honestly one of the best Batman villains, but I think he’s best when he’s brought in to shake up Batman’s routine. All his other villains are crazed and maniacal, but they’re all criminals and mob bosses with goals Batman can understand and as a detective, he can easily follow their schemes. Joker does what he wants, when he wants, with no pattern, all because he thinks it’s funny. It’s something Batman can’t comprehend, chaos for chaos sake. Whenever he thinks he understands the criminal underworld, Joker shows up to throw him off his game. It becomes less interesting if he’s behind everything in Gotham, like Batman exists to stop Joker when Joker should be there just to mess with Batman.
Morlun is an odd choice. He's an interesting villain, but there's so few stories involving him that he's not what I would consider a longstanding villain. I also think Kraven and Deathstroke should have been part of it, paired up. Although I'd admittedly have to likely give that to Deathstroke, I think they're both interesting. Electro would have also been a nice inclusion over Morlun.
Respect for going the extra mile with this one. Both characters (batman and spider-man) have incredible villains (sometimes shit ones but most of the time they're leagues more interesting than most other rogues galleries) and both are really interesting characters as a whole. Both series have interesting storylines, both are interesting characters (especially when delving into their psychology and how their morals get tested against villains) and they're also characters that are easy to relate to on personal levels at times. You don't really get that with a lot of other comic heroes in the mainstream. These two feel like actual human beings with flaws and weaknesses to overcome whilst trying to be symbols of hope and safety. Characters like superman and all that have fun powers and sometimes have fun and decent stories, but in the grand scheme of things, batman and spider-man are characters you sort of feel like self inserts at times. That's what makes these characters so iconic and interesting. Decent comparisons of villains man. Nice job
Both have amazing rouges galleries, but I like Batman’s villains more because they’re more of a threat on an emotional level. Spidey’s villains (aside from the big ones like Green Goblin and Venom) are pretty much only physical threats.
If B-mans rogues teamed up it’s just an average Halloween whereas when Spideys rogues team up it’s The Sinister Six made specifically and with the sole intention to kill Spider-Man
The Sinister six doesn't even include Pete's most powerful villains. Carnage alone kills all of Batman's villains. CARNAGE is far more sadistic and lunatics than Joker will ever be. Carnage makes Joker looks sane.
Spider-Man villains always seamed more random than Batman ones. Batman fight mostly mentally ill freaks or corrupt powerfull figures, but Spider-Man faces mostly people who just want to abuse their powers to make some cash or boderline sadists who just hate his guts and want to torment and kill him.
That's the worst way you could have ever described Spider-Mans villians and extremely biased towards Batman. Joker, Bane, Killer Croc, Penguin are also people who fall in the category of torturing Batman, money hungry and torment just cause of the fun of it. Most of Spider-Mans villians were just normal people who just got unlucky and got corrupted. You wanna tell me people like the Lizard, Venom, Carnage, Goblin, Mr Negative were just evil all the time?
Spider-Mans villains are all people who either use their great powers without thinking about their responsibility, or are facing similar financial issues like Spidey.
the thing recent comics with scarecrow have really leaned into i enjoy is him being an evil therapist. he wants to figure people out, and he might even be interested in helping people under some circumstances (there is a fun comic where he is a therapist to a bullied teen girl and chooses to teach her to take revenge) but his worldview and all psychological theories revolve around fear and how it is the defining emotion and the actual motivation for anything anyone does
I’m a die hard batman fan but some of the match ups aren’t fair to the point you are trying to make. Comparing Two-Face and The Lizard is wild and very one sided lol
I would personally put Kraven up against Bane. They both are highly intelligent and both tend to be obsessed with finding and breaking the most challenging opponent the can find, which is typically Spider-Man and Batman. Plus both (most of the time) either have or use strength/stamina increasing drugs or other means to get an edge over on the hero in terms of combat.
or an even better (more obvious) comparison: The Lizard and Man-Bat. It's almost too obvious. Both were originally well intentioned scientists who simply wanted to study the abilities of certain animals to aid either themselves/the world, or the people they care about. At least I'm pretty sure that's what Langstrom was hoping to do with the bat serum, I'm not exactly confident in my Man-Bat lore, but I think it had something to do with his wife's blindness. Anyway, both scientists were way too eager and desperate to use their knowledge and ended up losing their self control and becoming the monsters of their own making, and both hate their alternate monster sides as when they are put into their feral state, it is essentially blacking out and waking up to the horrors they had no idea they were committing.
@ I never said Spider-Man had bad villains. Also, the comics have a lot of good stories with many Spider-Man villains that the movies just haven’t been able to cover.
That was a bad matchup with Venom versus Bane. You should have done Venom versus Clayface. That would have been more compatible. And Bane versus Kraven would have been a more interesting fight.
I would say Batman wins, but Spider-Man for me. I'm just a little bored with Batman bad guys, while Spider-man bad guys are more fun and cartoonish and more imagination went into their look. Little bored of them as well but they're more eye-catching.
Would you make a part 2 of this video? This idea is very interesting, and I'm kinda curious how would you match up Kraven, Mad Hatter, Scorpion, Firefly and so on

I definitely agree about the Morlun outta all ppl....I felt he coulda matched Kingpin to Ra's. also felt Bane coulda been matched to Rhino. I'd debate X-men as a franchise have the 3rd best because of Mags, Poc and Phoenix(even Proteus) but definitely Supe's rogue is Vicious
i thought it would be kraven tbh but he even said at the end morlun is basically kraven soooo 😭😭
Ok I could say the same for bringing clay face when there’s plenty of great choices thats still on the board even penguin who I love but there’s still Jason Todd court of owls poison ivy Mr freeze Harley Quinn hush Hugo strange mad hatter professor pyg I could keep going too Batman just has too many great rouges
@@ShelleyLevyMusic OOOH hugo strange could've been pared against mysterio. Not that scarecrow vs mysterio isn't a decent choice, but hugo strange does things in ways that nearly parallel mysterio (In that he screws with people without needing to physically attack them).
When was the last time superman even fought darjseid without the justice league
The one advantage that Spider-man's Rogues gallery has over Batman's, is villain teams. The Sinister Six is the most iconic villain team, Batman's usually have smaller team ups, and usually just use minions.
Fr Spiderman is like the only solo hero who's villains have to team up against him 😂
Legion of Doom is the most iconic villain team
@@jeremyfields9009 You might be right. Sinister Six is more famous though. Spiderman is the most popular hero by a landslide.
@@Pandemia616 Spider-Man being the most famous hero doesn’t automatically make the sinister six the most famous villain group. A whole generation grew up on seeing the Legion of Doom fighting the Superfriends on television. Sinister Six had a two parter in 90s spider-man and that’s it. You gotta read the comics to know who they are.
Scarecrow also knows martial arts and created his own form known as "Violent Dancing" and has been able to stand up to Batman and also his prolonged exposer to his Fear Toxin caused him brain damage which has made him not able to be afraid of anything, except Batman.
Bro said ever. Read more mediums
@@oluwadamilola6233 He does. Only his villains are skilled in martial arts and are highly intelligent which makes them more realistic since most of them don't have powers.
You're showdown between Batman and Spider-Man Villains was pretty interesting but here"s my perfect match ups for each of them:
Bane Vs Kraven The Hunter
Man-Bat Vs The Lizard
Two-Face Vs Venom
Riddler Vs Electro
Penguin Vs Doc Oct
Kingpin Vs Ra's Al Ghul
Simon Hurt Vs Morlun
I did not expect your match ups or a lot of your winners - but you made a lot of intriguing points! Great stuff
Glad you enjoyed!
But isn’t Mr Freeze more like Doc Ock? They’re both tragic scientists who were made evil by experiments gone wrong
In the Raimi series Connors is still mentioned to be his teacher. It’s his class that he is writing a paper for & Harry gives him the chance to meet his mentor, Otto Octavius, who is working for Oscorp.
If Goblin and Joker fought, Goblin would wear the Jokers skin like a full body suit.
Hey nice suit Norman, nice suit, didn’t know you like purple vests. You don’t?
Thank you so much for pairing characters based on how they interact with the hero and not just pairing similarly powered people.
Lizard vs Man-Bat is a better comparison. They're both good doctors who tried to use science to help the world, by giving them animal attributes. But something went wrong & turned both of them into human/animal hybrids who the hero had to find a cure for.
Awesome video, i thought Kraven would've been matched with Ra’as but i like what you did there 👏
This was a great video dude, and I think the results definitely make sense in the end.
Highly highly disagree with Joker/Green Goblin, but respect to a very well made video!!
Something you forgot to mention about the cruelties of Norman Osborne is what he did from beyond the grave to Spidey's baby.
He ensured that MJ gave birth to a stillborn.
I absolutely agree with every choice. Great video
Batman's villains are the most iconic in history. Every rogues gallery wishes they had what Batman has in the OG rogues and just the complex and rich dichotomy between Joker and Batman is in a league of its own.
great match ups
Thanks!
Yes , Batman's Rogues Gallery is #1 but Spider-Man's Rogues is #2 with The Flash's Rogues Gallery being a close #3.
Disagree. Batman's top end villains just edge out Spider-Man's, but Spiderman's B and C list villains outclass Batman's.
Great comparisons! Would definitely love to see a Part 2 in the future, as there are so many more villains that can be compared to one another. That being said, I would personally put Boomerang over Deadshot in this list, Fred's just way too cool, strutting around the streets with that getup like an absolute champ.
There's one comic book of the riddler where he stops playing games, and batman killed him
What
@@MrToonsy basically riddler had a mental snap then decided to just live is life as an untouchable person, if batman or any law enforcement touch him he eliminates their loved ones or in batmans case a random person he even blackmails the rest of gothams crime lords to pay him, batman kills riddler because their is no other choice the police or criminal world won't touch him and the only thing protecting him is batmans own code

I LOVE IT❤
Batman V Spiderman villains rogues gallery
Joker obviously had to be the one to break the tie
I actually prefer Spiderman villains as a whole, but theres no denying that Joker and Batman are the greatest hero/villain duo of all time.
Also Superman &lex
As soon as I saw the last matchup I knew what the result of the video would be
22:35 peter called aunt may saying he loved her when he was already 6 days without resting and morlun wait for him to finish
The Riddler is my favourite villain. it's a shame he's not used more.
I love the fact that he's so clever he could solve near enough anything he wanted, but he only wants to PROVE he's the best, and the best is Batman.
I would have also done Mr. Negative against Mr. Freeze as both are the sympathetic villains
Oh yeah, they are both great! Contrasting how they both deal with revenge would be really interesting
yea and theyre both misters!
Joker and Batman is iconic but Spider-Man has such a greater variety of cooler villains and there’s not one TRUE archnemesis.
Spider-Man will always be my favorite superhero. However, I would have to give this to Batman.
Both are amazing, but Joker honestly seals the deal (even though he is used too much).
As a long time, old ass jaded TH-cam watcher, this video needs a ton of work, but i dig it, and i am gonna subscribe so I can watch you grow into the potential. Keep up the good work
The main difference between the two is most of Batman's villains are just different levels of psychopath but most of them don't have any actual superpowers. Most of Spider-Man's villains actually do have super powers
25:00 this is soo good, makes you want to see a crossover to specifically see long conversations between Spidey and Joker. Batman and Green Goblin might be fun in a combat scenario, but in a writing scenario, Spidey vs Joker has so much potential
scarecrow vs mysterio really felt like "hydrogen bomb VS coughing baby"
The way that I see it, Batman has the most popular villains, But Spider-Man has more popular villains. The few popular villains that Batman has, ridiculously popular. Spider-Man has a ton of memorable villains, They just tend to not come very close to Batman's
I mean, there's Venom... and Goblin is more popular than all Batman villains other than Joker I would say.
@@carlosm.sierra1465joker two face bane scarecrow are wayy more popular then venom bro is just carried by movies
@@swampfire9382 Only joker for sure, joker is the first batman villain you think of when you think 'batman villain' and venom is the the first spiderman villain when you think 'spiderman villain' venom is definitely more popular than bane and scarecrow because venom is the main villain and bane/scarecrow are secondaries for the most part
Yo I know this is weird but that thumb nail is really good
Thanks! I thought it turned out great
Very very tough question. Gonna give it to Batman just by A tinyyyyyy bit
But Superman>>>both Batman &spidey
The problem with Riddler is often the question of how to show his intellect.
Doc-Oc and other comic geniuses often show their intellect by delving into science fiction to create incredible inventions with no explanations as to how they work. But the Riddler is not a mad scientist, he's a plotter, and the only way for the Villain to plan a genius scheme is for the writer to plan a genius scheme.
i definitley agree that joker is 100 percent a better villan than green goblin but i still think spiderman has the better villans overall, i wish characters like kraven, electro, and carnage wouldve made it in this video showing how good spiderman villans are
another few good ones are kraven and deathstroke, morbius and man bat, hush and cameleon, you should really do a part 2 loved this video
Great video.
Thanks!
When have spider-man and taskmaster even interacted
@@abiodunsulaiman2297 in the animated series and games.
Bret Hart was the best wrestler, Shawn Michaels was the best entertainer.
Batman has the best psychological villains, Spiderman has the most iconic.
🕷️ rogue gallery is stronger (more powerful) but 🦇’s is better
@@koop2.1.5 why is it better though? It has regular humans doing super human things?
@@mike_datzmag1c21, because he likes them more
@@mike_datzmag1c21this isn’t about who wins in a fight. It’s using some metatextual analysis and overall pop culture impact to determine which character is better as a villain. Green Goblin might beat Joker in a fight, but he’s nowhere NEAR as popular or narratively interesting in a lot of peoples’ opinions.
This isn’t about power scaling.
The lizard losing to TWO FACE is just bs in my opinion the points made are just cap but that’s just my opinion. (Ps good video)
I’d say Batman has the better villain roster. But as far as protagonists go, Spider-Man is a lot more interesting and relatable than Batman.
Have you read any Spider-man comics?
Venom and goblin have both hurt Peter many times emotionally
@@masudbillah6196 well carnage has always been evil
@@masudbillah6196carnage is definitely evil
Spider-Mans villains are all people who either use their great powers without thinking about their responsibility, or are facing similar financial issues like Spidey.
the thing recent comics with scarecrow have really leaned into i enjoy is him being an evil therapist. he wants to figure people out, and he might even be interested in helping people under some circumstances (there is a fun comic where he is a therapist to a bullied teen girl and chooses to teach her to take revenge) but his worldview and all psychological theories revolve around fear and how it is the defining emotion and the actual motivation for anything anyone does
Spiderman definitely has the cooler looking ones. Batman’s are more iconic though

I think if you read Riddler - One Bad Day. It really shows what you can do with the riddler and a perfect example of him outsmarting Batman
No Kraven is disrespectful
Interesting how you used mainly the Raimi-iterations for Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery
Casual comic reader. Spider-Man have far better villains and it isn't close
One correction, Flint Marko was not Sandman's real name, it was a fake identity he used at one point, his real name is William Baker.
I would say Batman wins, but Spider-Man for me. I'm just a little bored with Batman bad guys, while Spider-man bad guys are more fun and cartoonish and more imagination went into their look. Little bored of them as well but they're more eye-catching.
I'm hands down giving it to Doc Oct, but the War of Jokes and Riddles?!?! Come on man!! That was insane!!! (In a good way)
Would you make a part 2 of this video? This idea is very interesting, and I'm kinda curious how would you match up Kraven, Mad Hatter, Scorpion, Firefly and so on
Maybe! They both have a lot of other great villains

Batman has better top end villains, but Spider-Man's entire rouges gallery is better.
Not even top end. King Pin, Carnage, Green Goblin, Doc Oc, just better top end villains.
