  • In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #bmw #x3m40i then take it for a test drive. Over 100 horsepower more than the x3 xdrive40i, the x3 m40i has a near 50/50 weight distribution with an inline 6 cylinder twin-scrolled turbocharge engine producing 382 horsepower and a 0-60 at 4.4 seconds. But the 2025 x3 m50i will increase 10 horsepower and receive an LCI that that will lead to some quirks which will bring out the pros and cons.

    You can get a nice spec for 70k, in comparison to a GLC43 or SQ5 which will cost more. The engine is one of the best.

      They are nice vehicles but I wouldn’t option it up as I stated it can push you into a M 👍

    Great review Anthony! I can tell that you had a very good time mashing the go pedal for sure. It's a very nice capable suv but a subscription fee for heated seats? What is that all about? Hope that you are doing so good. Happy Friday eve to you!

      I know subscription fees are crazy. BMW has been talking recently about changing some of them but because everything is in the infotainment who knows what they will or will not make owners buy. One big reason I like the older idrive.
      They are fun to drive and an suv to be just as good as a sedan makes the drive amazing. It’s been a rainy day so had to reschedule Mercedes today for next week but gives me a nice day off 😁. Thanks James

      @@HawkeyeRides Wow that is crazy. I remember some used to charge for SOS thing. BMW really disappoints me over that. Oh man a surprise day off is always welcomed! Have a good one Anthony

    Are these things reliable nowadays? Can you get 5 yrs out of it with just maintenance?

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      My neighbor has had since 2007 (bought new) just let it go with over 175k on it. He did have engine leaks but a/c (in Florida) still worked and he told me he never did anything but normal maintenance. With the newer vehicles, the fans have been changed, it’s made with more plastic and that is the case with a lot under the hood.
      Once you hit around 70-80k fans starting going (easy fix about $250), a/c around 110-130k (if used all the time), transmission (flash every 50k) should last up to 250k or more and flash the fluids (these don’t go bad till near 175-200k). The only thing that because old is the tech 😁.

      So reliable that Toyota uses this engine in the supra.

    $70k for an x3 is too much. Rather get a lower spec x5 for slightly more

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is a good point and sadly one of the problems that has become of BMW. The feature increase the price to another vehicle or trim quick.

    • @Tireburner7
      @Tireburner7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's an interesting way to think. A x3m competition is 85000. If your looking for a performance vehicle, it's way better than any x5(the 40i, the m50i and even the x5m). If you want performance the x5 would be a downgrade.

    • @shannonthomass
      @shannonthomass หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tireburner7 not really. I wouldn’t buy an x3 if I were looking for a performance vehicle and an x5 is plenty fast for day to day. More room as well for flexibility. And at $85k you have some options for vehicles and can get a nicely equipped new x5. I’ve never heard anyone say the x5 is slow or missing power.

    • @Tireburner7
      @Tireburner7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @shannonthomass please understand, you buying something does not make the decision relevant or not. Saying in X5 is a better car than an X3 is ridiculous especially considering people buy BMWs because they value performance, if they didn't we would be talking about toyota rav4s. Once again no one said x5s are underpowered or slow but if you're looking for a performance vehicle a X 3M is worlds better than standard or mid-grade X5 considering it's way faster, lighter, better braking, better handling and everything else. We're not buying cold cuts, nor do we buy cars by the pound, just because it's heavier and bigger does not mean it's a better performance vehicle.

    • @shannonthomass
      @shannonthomass หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tireburner7 I honestly don’t understand what you mean relevant and my purchase. I’m simply stating if I want a performance vehicle I wouldn’t look for an x3. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good vehicle. I just wouldn’t spend that much on one. I don’t see it as valuable. I value other things. So if I’m looking for a performance I’m looking at another bmw or brand. I’m not driving curvy roads pushing to the limits so most of that doesn’t matter. Hints why I would rather get a different vehicle. Or focus on a different performance vehicle if I really wanted that. I think many people would agree here because how many x3 comps are really being sold. I would venture to say not a ton. Don’t know for a fact but I’ve never seen one in the wild. And there is a middle ground between m comp and a rav4. But I get your point. I think… because I never said the x5 is better. I said I would rather spend my money on it. That doesn’t mean it’s a better vehicle. It means the overall vehicle is better for me. There’s a difference
