A Perfect Circle is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan... Despite the varied cast and numerous lineup changes, the stylistic content of A Perfect Circle's songs has remained consistent with Howerdel as music composer, and Keenan writing lyrics and vocal melodies. The band's studio albums have been generally well received critically and commercially, with their first three studio albums selling 4 million copies collectively as of 2005.

Red Rocks.. best venue ever. In Colorado built into a mountain.. a natural amphitheater.. I was there. I live 25 min away and it’s amazing!!!

Great reaction bud, love your input. Also ,highly recommend Emotive and Amotion. Emotive is cover songs from other artists and Amotion is remixes of APC songs , that's a really good one as well. Eat the elephant is very underrated, I find my self listening to that one alot to ease my mind or just wind down.
Cool! Yeah I noticed that fans tend to not like when rock bands come down and are more chill which is something I hear Eat the Elephant does. Personally I enjoy that kind of thing and it's kind of inevitable as musicians get older. Appreciate the comment 🙏

Oh shit this is Red Rocks! I would have killed to see them, TOOL or even Puscifer there... Maybe someday they will be back
BTW A perfect circle is a SUPERGROUP, conformed by Billy Howerdale Lead guitar and vocals, David Iha From Smashing Pumpkins, Maynard from Tool. and both the bassist and drummer play in Puscifer.
Billy Howerdale used to be Adam Jone´s guitar engineer.

When you finish going through the Tool albums, will you be going through the A Perfect Circle? And then eventually moving on to Puscifer. Assuming you know Maynard is the lead vocalist for each band. 🤔🤷♂️

This entire concert is fucking insane… if you do more APC, just go ahead a pull it from this show. The Package and The Noose will blow your fuckin socks off.
I watch a lot of reactions, mostly Maynard-oriented. Tool. APC. Puscifer. Anyway, this is a great one dude - nice job. Didn’t run on too long, didn’t interrupt too much, but layered in some useful nuggets. Nice job.

Billy Howerdel is responsible both for those beautiful vocal harmonies AND those tremendous melodic guitar solos.
One of the most amazing live performances ever..the whole show is absolutely timeless!!
And also you should check out 3 libras and sleeping beauty acoustic they are incredible! I believe the album title is "deep cuts!"

Skullz, I've been following your song by song Tool Journey and loving it! I've steered away from Maynard's other projects, figuring I'd get to them once I wrapped my head around the Tool Discography. I gave in to temptation to watch your reaction to this song, and then linked over to 3 Libras from another's posted link.
I loved Orestes and your reaction to it- you do a nice job singing those vocal sections! 3 Libras was also beautiful. The feel is very different than that of Tool, but great in it's own way. It gave me an even greater appreciation for Maynard's vocal talent. He is truly amazing. I'm no singer myself, but when I try to sing some of the simpler sounding sections of Tool songs, I just make it sound silly, if not plain pitiful. I guess simple is not always easy. Keep up the good work Bro!

I love this! And your reaction makes it that much better. Pretty sure that's Josh freese on the drums, he is a beast! Probably my second favorite drummer next to Danny of course! He toured with a perfect circle and nin during this time period.

I named my son after this song. 😅
I've always pictured the lyrics "give me one more medicated peaceful moment" as coming from his mother. It seems like Maynard is saying that he can hear his mother scream that as he is confronting her. He has major issues with his mom and she doesn't want to address them. There is a lot of my own life experience in this interpretation, so it could just be me.
I never thought of it that way. Maynard does switch perspectives in songs often (from what I've heard anyways). It makes sense and hey, there's room for more than one interpretation. That's what makes his lyrics so good 💯 Appreciate the comment!

Have you thought about the connection between Orestes and Maynard? I've contemplated it often and while their motivations were
different, Maynard MUST have been torn.
The quality of life of someone paralyzed for nearly 30 years couldn't have been anything but excruciating. It doesn't remain static, every-
thing deteriorates, including internal organs. I can't imagine Maynard not at least contemplating euthanasia probably daily, or nightly.
We are all subject to psychological self-flagellation, yet Maynard's must've been extreme.
I have made that connection. I just don't know much about his situation so I didn't want to get into it in the reaction. I think anyone who's had to watch a loved one suffer has thought about it though. There are worse things than death 😕
@@Skullzrapper, we have greater life-spans by a considerable margin these days, yet those extra years of longevity don't equate to joyous times. Many people hang on merely because their loved ones struggle to say goodbye.
Really enjoyed your reaction! Musically, that live version of "Orestes" is amongst the most beautiful and poignant I have heard. I am amazed at the details, the nuance that Maynard brings that goes beyond most mortals. It's astounding!

"Judith" is actually from Conan. What's interesting beyond the extraordinary quality, is Maynard's alien, insectlike appearance. His actual eyeballs appear to be black, all black.
