    Two English shields mean that this is an English coin. A Scottish florin would presumably have had two Scottish shields. The Act of Union of 1707 allowed for a Scottish Royal Mint, but it had closed a couple of years after the 1707 Union.

      @@BitsAndBobsCoins There is a Scottish version of the royal arms which has the lion rampart in the first and fourth quarters, with the crown of Scotland above. No coins have ever been issued showing this version of the royal arms, to my belief. Various "Scottish" shillings are issues of the English Royal Mint. Maybe the Scottish Mint should be re-established.

    another nice coin. I like seeing the periods in the initials on the truncation, some years/denominations have them and sometimes not and sometimes both varieties. do you have any of those? maybe a comparison video.
