My bike has fenders. Can I still use this rack?

Should I put a bolt through the hitch receiver, where the safety pin goes, to increase security? Or is the method used in the video enough to prevent theft?

Hello Bryan, and thank you for contacting Yakima support!
There are two levels of theft prevention on the Holdup Evo. The first (3:26) is the cables that come out of the arms to secure the bikes themselves. At 4:52, you can see the Speedknob that secures the rack itself. The way that works is that there is a long bolt that goes all the way to the the end of the tongue where there is a wedge that expands into the hitch. Once that speedknob is locked, you can turn the knob, but it will not engage with the wedge, making it impossible to take the rack off without a fairly monumental effort. Long story short, you don't need to put a bolt through the hitch receiver.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.

What prevents theft by removing the spine bolt or the bolts securing the trays? Seems only the hitch receiver and the bikes can be locked.

Make sure that the speedknob is fully tightened. It helps to gently rock the rack back and forth while tightening.

@@YakimaRacksOfficial it still wobbles a lot. We have put thousands of miles on ours with heavy e-bikes, but I would feel much better if it could be pinned through. That little pin thing is very sketchy.

I bought one of these based on reviews. Was the worst $550 I have ever spent. This thing is complete garbage. Barely holds 4" tires. I have NO clue how it would ever secure a 5" tire. The rack makes all sorts of noises and is very stiff when folding the wheel cradles and support arms back and forth. Damned near takes two people to install this into the receiver...YES, it's THAT heavy. Anyone thinking of purchasing one of these......needs to KEEP LOOKING !!!
