I have the Kuat NV2.0 Base and cannot say enough good things about it. Super stable, built in cable lock, looks great, folds up tight to the vehicle when not in use, and I can load or unload a bike in less than 30 seconds. Great channel and keep up the great work.
I have the Kuat NV 2.0 and it says the weight capacity is only 60lbs per bike.I am interested in getting two Aventon adventure 2 bikes that weigh 77lbs each with batteries. I could lose a little weight by removing the batteries as you suggest but am still over the limit. The rack seems to be very stout but would like to hear for someone has delt with this problem. @@EbikeEscape
The strap for the rear wheel on my kuat broke letting my 2022. Turbo levo bounce down the on ramp at about 45 mph unbelievable very little damage be careful 🚵🏿😀🏴☠️
I have the QuickrStuff rack. I love it and I am really happy with it. Very easy to use and it holds my e-bike well. I even built my own ramp for less than 10 dollars that works perfectly. I also bought the license plate holder that works great.
I just picked up the QuikRstuff rack back in Sept/2023. Excellent rack, easy on/off, light weight, no tools needed, and very sturdy at highway speeds of 70-85 mph with a 88lbs Himiway Cobra Pro 4.8" fat tire ebike.
I just purchased the HOLLYWOOD DESTINATION AND I LOVE IT it Carrie’s my Adventon and my townie 7D both are step thru …there’s to wiggle going down the road and, everything gets locked down with a keyed lock ….
@@MaryEllenKenny-kq2uz which ADVENTON...? I am thinking of getting the RAMBLAS.... Do you know if the straps will work with Carbon frames for my road bike>? Thanks in advance
New to biking. Gave a lot of information in a short period of time. Would be great to have a video showing best racks for different types of ebikes. Gotta Pace 500.3, 55 lbs, and I find too many racks of different kinds with no guide per make/model. Confusing.
Great review, Ryan! I'm hoping you'll get the chance to review the newest 1UP Super Duty, which was redesigned in early 2024. It's definitely not as light as the Quickr Mach 2, but I was looking for a rack that would support my 84lb Aima Big Sur fat bike without bouncing and twisting around, and I really didn't want folding trays as to me, pivot points would compromise the strength and stiffness.
Please review the Rhino Built ramp. It looks to be a copycat of the 1up rack almost exactly. Its much cheaper and the plus is the handle to tilt is at the front not the rear $500 for the Hollywood rack? I had that rack before and it's crap. It's flexy not robust at all, not easily adjustable, and contact between bikes is hard to adjust. It does not instill confidence whilst driving down the road
Suggestion: can you, please, add commentary on the wheel base that racks fit? My GF and I recently converted over to ebikes and the Kuat rack that we use to transport our bikes fit her new ebike just fine. However, mine is several inches longer and didn't quite fit. In order to get mine home I had to use straps and bungy chords to hold it forward so that it didn't roll backwards and fall off the rack!
Correct. I think putting a trunk mounted E-Bike rack on a Civic, would leave you with a dented or damaged trunk. I would look into a 1 1/4" Hitch mount for the civic, and then there are quite a few options on the market for you.
I do food deliveries and added a pakir food bag/box on the back rack and now my front wheel wobbles badly if i take my hands off the handlebars.. I wonder if I need to add some sort of stabilizers bars under the rear rack... Anyone have experience with what I'm talking about?
As long as you have the weight capacity on the rack you choose it should work - it is just going to be how it attaches to the rack with wheel mounts or bottom trays.
@Vinoto is correct. Hollywood Rack has one. Stay tuned on the next week or two, and we will have a review up for it. lectricebikes.sjv.io/5g7EEN (affiliate link)
We have a HOLLYWOOD SPORT RIDER and it is a TOTAL PIECE OF S#%T. I end up cursing every time we use it. The wheel holders deformed, the upright holding the bikes always interferes with one of the pedals, etc. JUST DON’T DO IT.
I wonder why no one's created a heated, battery operated battery cover. They make heated clothing so a small cover to keep your battery warm in winter shouldn't be hard to create.
Guessing because a battery is a potentially combustible, flammable thing unto itself, and does best in straight up ambient temperature ranges, not close-by heat sources? Have you been able to ride at all in winter? (I'm a brand new ebike owner, located an hour south of the Mackinac Bridge, for reference.)

Excellent content! Any thoughts on using any of these racks with a swing mechanism like the Yakima Backswing? I want to put this on a camper van and want to swing the rack out of the way. But I also need to be able to carry heavy electric step through bikes with fenders and I haven't found a rack that does it all.
Unfortunately the extenders are going to lessen the capacity of the hitch (unless you have a burly vehicle). Step-thrus with fenders can work without too much hassle with the 1Up/QuikR - I've had a lot more experience with this lately.
Yes. Most of these racks come in a 1 1/4" receiver size. You just need to be more aware of your total weight as most 1 1/4" receivers on cars have a lower tongue weight capacity then 2" ones.
Hey Ryan what are your thoughts on the Thule easy fold XT. Think it can support an aventon level(62lbs with battery) and a juiced ripcurrent s(76lbs with battery). I’m asking because I trust your expertise.
@@EbikeEscape I'm replacing one with a Mach 2 cause I banged it up (my fault). It was decent but really fiddly to get the clamps my ebikes with fat tubes. Plus as I say I banged it up. Its very plasticy in places and it did not take much at low speed for me to destroy it. I just feel the build quality does not match the price.
I don't think it is possible to overstate the importance of a nice rack. How you use them is a personal preference but you do want them to not only be functional but look nice and firm as well. A sagging rack let's be honest looks horrible and can be a bit dangerous if they hang too low. Safe biking everyone!
The biggest problem with all of these racks, is they do not have lights on them. When the bikes are loaded on them, the tail and brake lights on the vehicle are not visible. These rack should be classed just like a trailer . They should have lights , or capable for light s.
Would have been nice if you reviewed rack of all price ranges, BUt when you get them free, I guess that ones around the 200~300 range don't count. Disappoining review
I feel the same way. Lazer I'm leaning towards WILDROAD Hitch Bike Rack. It's seems to be real close to the Hollywood rack, minus $300.00. But like another reviewer mentioned having brake lights on it.

One of the downsides of some of these racks which is why we tend to focus on racks with higher capacities.
