      Thank you and glad you enjoyed it. I was trying something a little different and since I had a family connection for this one.. I figured I would give it a try. I'd like to check this spot out again... I know there has to be some rings out in that yard somewhere.

    Sure miss your detecting videos of late. You are one of the best so please don't give up on us. Don't worry about negative comments. Rickie Nelson said it best; "You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself".

    Hi Squirrel! What a beautiful area and fascinating site. Due to the history, I expect there may be layers or pockets from the different periods of activity. No maps!? *LoL*
    The Wheaties n buff (awesome finds) would be from church gatherings. A friend of mine is 3rd generation funeral director and as you must know, they lived at the funeral home even as late as the 50s and there could have been quite a bit of foot traffic then too. Never saw pumps like that - very cool working history. Loved the flattened penny. I found a couple like that in Philly -- my dad said they used to put pennies on the trolly tracks. Love the limestone foundation. You made me realize that I look at the concrete & step architecture to date a site -- the concrete and steps you're sitting on are typical for that time period...the cement is more coarse and pebbly than more modern cement. A great video and hunt in bourbon country! Til next time...😊

      I had the chance to go during Thanksgiving weekend and was with the family member that owns the funeral home... luckily I brought my machine so I could head out to hunt. There are a few other funeral homes he owns so possibly there will be another one I can detect... problem is when funerals are planned it's hard to time being there with nobody else is present. Thank you for checking out the video and I hope to get out this coming weekend (12-15-18) to make another... fingers crossed. :)

    Enjoyed the hunt, many years ago my uncle used to work for Jack Daniel distillery. Thank you!

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jack Daniels would be a cool place to work. I really enjoy the history, tradition as well as heritage of Kentucky bourbon. I typically every couple of years go on a bourbon trail route through Kentucky and visit distilleries. The experience of history as well as the process is fun..... .along with the taste testing. :) Thank you for watching.

    Nice production on your video. I too love the v3i. Appears you know it well. I actually use an original Bigfoot coil on mine with success.

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WOW!! you have a Bigfoot coil!! I always wanted one of those, I hear they work very well. Never really knew why they were discontinued... Thank you for checking out the video.

    • @FloridaRobTreasureHunting
      @FloridaRobTreasureHunting 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@squarenailsquirrel9638 there were around 4,000 of the Bigfoot coil manufactured. The fella had to make them by hand. he fell off a ladder and passed away. That was the end of the Bigfoot. Jimmy Sierra tried to reverse-engineer them with no success. That's why they are rare and worth quite a bit of money.

    I bet there are some goodies real deep in that yard. Reminds me of an old home I used to hunt,, dirt was disturbed and filled during the remodel/addition. But,,,, yours looks like even the fill dirt is early to mid 1900's so plenty of silver potential. Might have to break out that big coil and dig some "deep & iffy's". Thanks for the video!! Hope you had a great holiday!

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found fill dirt around the front sidewalk and entry of the home area so I moved out in the yard and that's when I started getting into some older items. I have the 13 inch Detech for the V3i although I hardly use it anymore, maybe I need to get that thing out and give it a swing over some of these sites. I enjoy the iffy's, they tend to produce cool finds. Thank you for checking out the video and I hope you had a great holiday as well. Take care.

      Great!! I'm glad this video helped out. If your at work tonight hopefully you can find another video up to break up the boredom. When I am in the office (im 50/50 office and field) I typically always have youtube videos up playing in the background or a micro screen while I'm working. Don't tell my boss. LOL Thank your for checking out the video.

    I live here. In Central Texas, but my mom's family is from from Floyd' county, (McDowell). I love it there, it feels like home

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've only been to Floyd county a couple of times to do surveying for cell tower installation. It's a beautiful part of the state and has a lot to offer. I am located in the northern area of the state in Grant County. I still have a farm there and need to get out and do a video soon on the Irish Stone walls that run through the farm. I know someone dropped something cool while building those walls when Kentucky was still Kentucky County of Virginia. Kentucky is and always will be home for me... I'm a proud Kentuckian. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.

    I enjoyed the video. It was very interesting. I like the Kentucky hunts because I am a native of Kentucky (Boyd County). Also, I was wondering if you are still considering making a video on how to make the arm cuff for the MX Sport?

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s great you enjoyed the video and how to you fellow Kentuckian. 🙂 to answer your question... Yes.. I will make a video on making the bracket. I was waiting to make it once I get froze out of the ground with no digging going on. Gives me topic to make a video on. You ok to wait until then? Won’t be long. The only thing is for the next two weekends I won’t be available to hunt or make videos... so there will be a lapse in time.

    That's funny you like those Buffalo Nickels. I get excited every time I find one too. Although this Ohio ground just eats up the coins to the point you can hardly see what you have. Same with the wheat pennies. Congrats on finding the silver. Silver seems to make a hunt worth the time spent digging. Even if it's only one Rosie. I'm glad to see you got to go home for a little while. I know you miss it. Catch you later.

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are really col coins, hard to sniff out of the low VDI's. Thanks on the silver and yes it makes a great day of detecting a wonderful day of detecting. :) I added a link to your newest video to help folks out operating their machines, thanks for making the videos you provide. Thank you for watching as well as commenting. Take care.

    Your camera work is really good. I just shoot with a cellphone which is pretty awkward, especially because I have no tripod of any sort. Looks like you are using some sort of monopod (I assume you stick the end into the dirt?) Are you using go-pro cameras or something else? I've been noticing how smooth your pans are when you are walking, feels like a mechanical swivel motion.
    Congrats on your Buffalo nickel and silver, and good work with the historical background presentation. Clearly I have a lot to learn about making videos! :-)

    • @WisLockman
      @WisLockman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use my iPhone snapped into my iOgrapher on a tripod I carry. I also use my gopro hero 5 Black sometimes on my chesty hookup. On my iPhone I use Rode wireless microphones and on my gopro use me wireless canon microphones. If you want a link to my TH-cam page to look let me know.

    • @squarenailsquirrel9638
      @squarenailsquirrel9638  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. I try with each video to get better at making quality video. There are still a few things I need to work on like Bios rate when walking so it doesn't blur, I will figure it out this winter. :)
      Here is what I use:
      iphone 7 set to 1080 30 fps
      a modified cell phone case to accept gopro mounts
      a modified surveying bipod leg with modified gopro mounts
      a modified mount for a handlebar on a motorcycle mounted to said bipod
      a modified monopod for a rifle with a modified gopro mount attached
      adobe premier pro CC full software package subscribed
      DJI OSMO2 stabilizing gimble to get those smooth cinematic shots, still leaning it, it's tough.
      Modified OSMO2 mount on the Bipod
      Modified is the key word, about everything has been drilled, tapped, roll pinned, glued and marine 6:1 adhesive lined shrink wrapped. Lots of modification because I'm looking for speed and ease. Nothing I found on the market was built for speed and ease so I just made it. Quick snap on snap off, pull and adjust for height and position in seconds.
      Hopefully this helps.

      I also utilize Filmic Pro, paid app for iphone. Run it with the stabilization set to "OFF". Stabilization by the phones digital camera is the main destroyer of video.

    Great hunt, the buff is one of my favorite coins. If you see my video with the 1901 home I get three at that house. Just wondering is Ken your name? Congratulations on your finds. Until next time HH&GL *Chris*

      Thank you. I will check out your video tomorrow evening and see your buffalo finds, can't believe three at the same house. I barely even get one it seems due to the low VDI it produces. Yes, Ken is my name (I go by Kenny). Thank your for checking out the video as well as commenting. Happy Hunting and take care.
