Your channel is by far my favorite, even of ALL other topics! I get excited every time you put out a new video. I can't thank you enough for making these. The fact that you always show your settings, aren't afraid to dig pretty much any target... It is just plain exceptional. Exemplary. You are truly the best at what you do here. Thank you a million times over and KEEP THEM COMING!!!! As I explained in a comment on your last video: I think I will go ahead and pull the trigger on an Equinox 800 early this spring. I just love the neat stuff you find with it. I hope you and the Mrs. have a happy Valentine's day. (I will just sit here alone on the couch after a hard days work HAHA). Bless you bro.
Hey Switch Blade, I think you will really like the Equinox 800. I have been metal hunting for over 40 years and the 800 is by far one of my favorites. It is a great coin and relic machine for sure.
Thank you very much for your kind words I do appreciate it. Everybody is different but I do believe that you will be happy with either of the equinox series machines. Just remember that with any machine that is out there as long as you know how it operates and speak its language you will be successful.
Great to see you’re back to making your videos again! I really missed them. I continue to enjoy your instructional, relaxed style and your genuine excitement about the finds. Thanks for always taking the time to walk through your settings - that’s a tremendous help for those who might be new to the Equinox, but it’s also very informative for those of us with some experience on the machine. I also like that you include your trash in the wrap up shot - keeps it real without bogging down the video with a lot of trash digging. But showing the signal and digging that iron rod was perfect - great instructional value there! I like the handwritten and drawn proxies for the token and button - smart idea to help visualize the details on the items that the camera has a hard time picking up. Thanks for sharing this hunt - looks like a tremendous site! That Indian is fantastic, but the Largie cleaned up nicely too - even the back looks like it’s showing some decent detail after cleaning at home. I’m a sucker for tokens, so I really enjoyed seeing that dentist’s token - nice job getting an ID on that. Even with the pair of holes, that’s a great find - the holes just add unique character! The New York button is a huge find as well - pretty much a bucketlister right there! Great mix of relics overall.
turned out to be a great hunt and like you say.. a great mix of items. This site has been a blast so far... i'm sure there is plenty left out there to find.
Hey subs let’s give square nail some more likes here. The amount of time he puts into these videos with quality content justifies it. Especially when you compare to other detecting videos. I am in no way affiliated with but these are the best videos avail imo
Kenny way to work that Equinox, you really have your fans just as excited to see what your next finds will be. Your patience filming while detecting is very much appreciated. Take care my friend👍
Your videos are the absolute best detector videos on TH-cam. Informative, entertaining, and thoughtful with zero hype or arrogance. Your video production quality is top-notch too. Thanks for the thought and effort you put into each one. Happy hunting from west Michigan.
Thank you for sharing this hunt with us. You do a great job of allowing us to be there with you. Take care and know that most of us don’t care what you find we just want to be there with you. That’s the joy of sharing these videos.
Thank you for making these videos, as far as I'm concerned you make some of the best MD videos out there. The educational quality of your videos, where you pass on tips and tricks and share your VDIs definitely puts them in a whole other league. These are great to watch while I wait for the ground here in WI to thaw 👍👍
Since you were one of favorites when I first began watching metal detecting videos; seeing all of your new video notifications pop up has really cheered me up ☺ I don't care if you only found pieces of Crotal bells; those and Conestoga are the two top items on my bucket list to find 😍 the greener the better and definitely the more beautiful to me 🤗 Congrats on that fantastic militia button find 😀, as well as the large cent and IHP, also amazing relic coin saves!! The little suspender clip part is very pretty; I wonder, with it's pretty pattern, if it were on a woman's outfit 🤔 Such a weird token for that dentist to distribute, I can't image too many clients running to him for dental care 😂 Your videos are awesome!! Have a great weekend 👍☺ Oh and I'm sorry if my comments are too long; this is what I tend to do because of my admiration of those of you within our hobby who are living/hunting in colonial regions 😁
It’s totally OK to have long comments. I read every comment that is left on here so when you type them I am listening. I am glad that the videos are enjoyable for you and I will keep these hunts up. I am not making a video for this upcoming week due to spending time with my wife this Valentines weekend but the following I will be back out. Thank you for checking out what I am doing on here.
Wow, great hunt! I love the NY Militia button, and the coins and token are pretty sweet too. I really enjoy digging those early date Indians, the 1866 is a harder date to get.
I went out yesterday on the Yuba with all my panning equipment and my equinox 800. Found a bunch of old square nails and some larger ones. I ran in gold 2 mode and every spot I dug had gold in it. The machine works but there is a lot to be learned how to find the gold in bedrock with this machine. Another great video! Keep them coming ⛏⛏
I have never been prospecting before even though I did try last year when I went out to Sedona Arizona. Ended up I wasn’t able to detect where I previously had permission prior to arriving out there. It looks like a lot of fun especially in the videos that I have watch that Aquachigger does.
Lucky you got the date on that large cent, and nice 1866, lots of more area to cover" like you say, I hunt a lot of small old areas here in the jungles of Okinawa and I'm not sure how I miss some things, but seems like I can come up with more greats finds at some old spots🤠 Good Luck in the future" 🍀🍀
I'm going to go see Dr. Jennings.... Yikes!! That sure was worth the return trip.... My best guess for the iron item is a Cook Stove Eye lifting / removal tool. At some time please explain how you can tell a small / large target while pin pointing...
When you are pinpointing and have the pinpoint button held down you’ll either have the machine screaming, very loud tone as well as the area that is picking up being large. You will also have the depth indicator only showing one or two bars being that it is very close to the machine by its reading. It is not always the case that it is very close to machine, it could be deeper but being that the target is really big the machine thinks it’s only 2 inches deep. When it is a small target you will have a lot of bars because the target seems like it’s very deep. Sometimes it may be something that is very small that is only 2 inches deep and not 10 inches deep even though the machine shows 5 bars. Low conductors such as foil and gold do this same type of low conductor response. Your pinpoint tone will be lighter so it won’t be as loud and the area that it pinpoints is small. The tone only shows up for a short bit as you’re swiping across it. Hopefully that makes sense, if not say so.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 Thanks. For some reason I struggle with making my 600 work correctly. Sometimes it's fine and others it won't make a sound unless I press it hard to the ground and smack it up and down.
Great finds at a site you detected before. Coins and relics spanning more than 40 years! Could be from the same person.... It could be that the soil dampness gave you a clearer signal.
Right on Kenny, still pulling up some amazing finds! Glad you're back, and I need to do more videos myself. Especially since I have a new detector myself. And, I'm sure if you went back another time, you'd still find more stuff! Take care my friend!
Glad to see ya again. Hope everything is going well for you.I appreciate the tutorial of your detector when you're getting started. The ground doesn't look to frozen. Great finds. Love the button. Have a great week.
Looks like a civil war token that has been turned into whizzer , although off center, you never know what the kid had to start with . That I think is the best find of the day for you. I prefer the counterstamped or modified coins . It gives them a more personal connection. Great video , keep hitting that spot.
I love watching your videos! I tell you what you got the Dirt Bug really bad to go out with a cold & snow on the ground 🤣😂😅 Lol 👍 please keep the videos coming
Excellent video! Hope you're feeling better. Some great finds there! That IHP is in gorgeous shape and the 1822 LC is a fantastic find. But that NY Militia button tops the list! Bucket listing day for sure! Congrats on all! No site is ever hunted out!
All the finds from the day were awesome, But when I pull the button out I know I had something that I had never touched before. I got home and got it cleaned up but it took a bit to identify it. Spoke to a friend of mine that posted it on Facebook where shortly after someone stating what it was. I have a book of military buttons that I went to the section that list of those buttons and there it was clear as day. Such an awesome find.
Greetings from across the pond detecting uk and europe. Very grateful for all your videos and the information you share. Hope to get the equinox 800 soon. Thank you for all that you do
Typically whenever I go out on the site if all I find is junk for the first two hours I start mentally thinking about who else is already metal detected the site. I also end up finding some fairly recent drops as well as nothing all that old. But all it takes is that one swing with the coil to get over to target and respond enough to make me dig and discover something that’s awesome as well as old. It’s pretty much happens to me on every place that I visit unless it’s a fluke right out of the gate finding something old. Nobody really talks about it much but Metal detecting is about 40% a mental game. I even have the same problem if I have been on a site for five hours or so, I get fatigued both in my body as well as my mind. My swing is not normal and a pendulum swing as well as skip over targets because I get lazy on my digging.
Squirrel that indian head was wow! Too bad they can't all be like that huh. And the military button simply an awesome find. Place just keeps getting better. Congrats my friend you deserve it.
Props for getting out there in the cold and freezing your hands for this video. :) I think that double holed coin was being used as a makeshift underwear button. I've seen other coins used as buttons this way although I can't for the life of me understand why the holes wouldn't be more uniform. Maybe it already had one hole for a different reason so they made another? lol. Who knows. That's a good site though. I bet there's a privy or two around there with some old bottles in it. :)
I enjoy watching your videos. While your older videos are good I enjoy the Nox 800 videos more as one just got delivered this week and watching you made me give it a try. You make it look far easier than it is as it took me longer than it should have just to get my Bluetooth headphones connected out of the box tonight. Nice to have another Surveyor on here, there are actually two other ones that I know of that follow me as well making these videos. To tell you the truth I have never been able to get my headphones Bluetooth to my machine. I had tried it twice and then gave up because I never really get to use them when making video. When I go out I use the adapter cord and use my old Grey ghost headphones. It’s cool that you got the 800, you will enjoy it. Take your time and learning it because it is it own creature. It took me a little bit to speak its language.
Hi. Just discovered your channel and I am really enjoying your videos. I’m learning a bit more about my equinox. That dentist token may have two holes in it because kids used to make these things called “whizzers” with coins by putting two holes and then looping a string through them. That may be why it’s holed that way...... just a thought. Keep up the good work. Kirk
I remember playing with something that’s close to what you described when I was a kid. That’s a pretty good idea on why there would be two holes in it. I’m glad that you found the channel I’m glad to have you on here checking out what I’m doing. Thank you for commenting
I couldn’t believe it when I found out what the button was... so awesome to me. I wish I could find out more information on the family that settled there.
