First, I’d like to say I enjoy your videos. It’s obvious you put a lot of time and energy into them, and I appreciate your attention to detail. Regarding the Equinox, it’s capable of so much more than what you were classifying as "deep" targets. A deep target for a Nox is 12”+. What you were showing were common, shallow targets at 6-8”. You’ll learn this when you become better acquainted with the machine, and learn to work with sensitivity and recovery speed to increase depth and target identification. Yesterday I was digging clad coins at 11-13”, that were very distinct, repeatable targets. I was on a site I’ve been over with my Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro and my Garrett AT Max with both the standard and 5x8 coil, and I have one area about 15’x50’ that I use as a benchmark for any new detector. I’ve grid searched this plot with both other machines, and pulled all the low hanging fruit...so to speak. The Nox then brought up the signals from 10” and deeper that the other machines were unable to detect. Spend time watching videos of others using the Nox and see what tricks they’re using. Of course, there’s no replacing the necessity of mastering the operations manual and getting the hours in swinging over targets. I’m over 250 hours on my Nox, and I’m still learning ways of getting more performance from it. Best of luck, and pay close attention to those farmers and their chemicals. That’s some nasty stuff to get in your system.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video. No real classification as to deep targets other than the modulation response and digital depth gauge. I’ve struck many 8-10” keeper targets so far with the equinox and very happy with its capabilities. I’m 2.5 months into owning the first Minelab during my hobby. The last 23 years had been dedicated White’s machines. Wish I would just got the E-trac back years ago as to start my transition back then. Totally understand what you were saying in your comments... thanks for commenting as well as checking out the video. Good luck with any hunts you have coming up.
Your honesty on machines is refreshing ! Always keep in mind pesticides while on fields and lawns . They are accumulative in your system over time . Wash your hands and clothing after hunting . I know you know this but I’m mentioning it for others that might not think about it . Excellent editing on your video !
Thanks David and share what you know on here freely. I welcome folks that are willing to share on here so that not only I but others that read comments can learn. Working together seems to be the best way to go in this world. Thank you for your kind comments and for checking out the video. Take care.
Thanks Raymond... seriously means a lot to hear that. Without folks like you on here enjoying what I'm doing I wouldn't be doing it. This is a hobby for me within the detecting realm of things. Just want to take about 2000 people with me when I go metal detecting... LOL.. by making video. Been a long journey figuring stuff out but it's a blast. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.
I watched all your videos when they came out. During this time I was swinging a White's M6. I just got a Nox 600 so I am rewatching your videos. I am glad you show your settings at the beginning of your videos. It really helps me with learning about the Nox 600. I look forward to your return. Aquachigger, Nugget Noggin, and you are my three favorite TH-camrs!
Thanks Gregory... helps out with the ID. Not only I but others can learn to better their hunt and understand more about what might come up when digging. Thanks for checking the video out. 👍🏻
Hi Squirrel! Sorry to hear about the chem exposure...pls be careful out there...number one treasure is our health. Nox did well... cleaning up hi conductors under/with rusty iron. You did a good job with v3i & sport prior. Lipton made dried soup in 60s/70s...don't know how long they continued. Love the woman's watch...band could have been leather or other non metal material. Another great video of a great hunt! In memory of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country 🇺🇸
Thanks Linda. 🙂 I thought about it while driving over the weekend and through my use of both Whites machines on this site made it very quiet for the Equinox. I guess I might know what I’m actually doing after all with the WE machines. (Kidding) 🙂 I wasn’t aware that Lipton made soups... at first when I unwraveled the coil is saw Lipton and though tea until I was talking to the camera and noticed the noddles bit. Lol. Thank you for checking out the video and for commenting. Liked that you tuned in on some other comments as well. Good luck out digging and if you get out soon report with finds. It’s fun to see what others are out finding. Take care.
Thanks buddy, I enjoyed the video and especially the history of the old cabin! It is amazing the old structures (like that cabin) still are standing. If that old place could talk, imagine the stories it could tell of the earliest settlers in Ohio and Kentucky. Thanks so much for sharing the history and video. Take care of yourself and God bless!
Your welcome and glad you like it. I did my best with the video trying to make an ending and salvage what I had recorded during the hunt. I always think about the same thing if the building could tell you about the progression on time that’s its see during the time it’s stood. So much has happened in the past 200 years.
No problem.. I've used it in the most delicate yards and it works well. There are a lot of folks on here that day what I'm doing is terrible although the three sided plug is a farce. If you flip a three sided plug the only difference is instead of being cut on the fourth side.. you just rip the roots. The biggest part of grass survival is sealing the edges of the plug after placing it back so the it doesn't dry out. The other main concern is dampness of the soil and if there is rain in the forecast. I don't dig yards in the summer because the grass is stressed and the ground is very dry.. if you dig a plug.. no matter what.. it will die.
I enjoy just learning what is working for you for specific land settings, and what is not ! So I can apply it to my own learning of the machine in my own park/field conditions ! Good vid anyway and keep away from those fumes !
Another excellent video. Glad you are okay from inhaling those fumes. I love my Equinox and have done the same thing, returning to previously hunted sites with much success. Looking forward to your next hunt!
Thank you. The fumes weren't any fun.. I wish I knew they were spraying over the hill from me that day so I could have just went to another spot for the day. Glad to see you are having success with your equinox. Thanks for checking out the video.
Glad that you enjoyed it.. it was a short hunt due to being cut short on the day but still did "ok". I really like that big button :) Yes, it's good everyone knows about this new technique farmers are using called "dirty farming"... lots of chemicals used. Thanks for checking out the video.
Thank you. It’s been a lot of trial and error, self training and late nights. Finally found a great combination to upload acceptable video recorded with a cell phone. Thank you for your kind comments and for checking the video out.
Another great video Kenny, the large button was cool along with the tiny watch. As I have said before you put out the best videos. Personally, I think what makes yours the best, along with great editing, you actually show the site and pan around so others can get the BIG picture of the site being hunted. Far to often on others videos all you ever see is someone's back of hand shots as they cut for the 100th time a plug in some unknown piece of dirt. They give no perspective of where they are. You also often times give history of what the site is all about which really adds to the excitement of the hunt. Personally, I get a lot more excited about hunting an old untouched home site vs. a new modern school site, because it allows your mind to wonder of what better items you could find due to history. You, also when appropriate show yourself in the videos without grand standing. To often all you ever get from others is the voice, which for me, is frustrating because you have no context of who you are dealing with. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Wow... thank you for very much for the kind comments. I try my best on here to take everyone with me on the hunts I go on just like we are together. Showing the site and what i'm encountering in the field is just part of the hunt. I do know what you mean about the back of someones arms digging holes for the whole video.. I just believe there is so much more to portray of the hobby than the digging and what you find. Thank you for tuning in to check out what I'm doing on here.
Kenny I'm trying to catch up on your videos. I believe you make the best videos out there. Your so professional, you show the site, and I learned a lot about finding home sites from you. Showing the places you hunt is also educational, newbies can get an idea of what to look for. Interesting tha t I ran whites for many years, back in the old coinmaster days, lol! About 4-5 years ago bought an AT Pro Garrett after getting back into the hobby and have not really liked it. I am now looking into Minelab EQ 600 or 800 myself, because I see so many reviews where they blow everyone else away. Thanks for your videos. I hope to watch many more. Your videos are like therapy- and I have the feeling they are for both you and your viewers. Keep at it! And take care!
Enjoyed watching. Scary about the brush killer getting to you. Glad you recognized it and got out of there. I've been hitting some extremely trashy sites which has been helpful in learning the 800. Found my first silver this last week 1917 Mercury and almost cried lol. Thanks for sharing another great episode and take care.
Glad you enjoyed it... So awesome you scored your first silver with the new machine.. very cool. I lucked out with that Merc a couple hunts back although no silver coins since. Good luck out hunting and thanks for checking the video out.
Very impressed with the content, narratives and quality of your videos Kenny. For that reason, I began to watch you with the White's, but only on occasion; now that you've taken up the Equinox, I've subscribed, looking forward to each release. Great to see that you, too, are a fan of Beau's, with whom I've had the pleasure of digging with a few times.
Thanks Steven... very much appreciate the kind comments and subscribing to my channel. Aquachigger is someone I look up to as a person as well as a detectorist... very much enjoy anything he has posted over the years. I've never done the Patreon donations but I did build him a dig bag to his specs out of material I don't even buy for myself to support his efforts. Very thankful he is present in the hobby and I'm part of the era that gets to enjoy his stuff in "real time". That's totally awesome you have been out with him digging... that would be a great experience. I'll keep these videos going and do my best to keep them entertaining... I believe the best move I've made in awhile is purchasing a Minelab product. Exponentially increased my level of enjoyment of the bobby. Thanks for checking out the video and take care.
Tractors spraying fields is the reason we left our home in SC. We also had aircraft spraying the cotton fields. As far as different brands, pretty sure they all work about the same.
We deal with it a lot up here in Ohio.. back home in KY there isn't anything like it other than very small tobacco sprayers. My wife and I have been trying to purchase a home up here for awhile but every time we find a place something to do with chicken barns or big farm fields that include lots of spreading and spraying cause us to back out of the deal. Maybe someday we will find a place. Like you said... they work about the same. Just wish all this dirty farming stuff never came around. Thanks for checking out the video.
Hey Square Nail Squirrel the long rectangular metal item on the left, at minute 15:21/22, holds razor blades. It is used to inject a new blade into the handle mechanism of the razor while pushing out the old blade. If I remember correctly it was called an "injector razor." Schick started making them in 1925. Goggle "injector razor" for more info. Watching your videos is getting me excited to start digging dirt again. Keep up your great videos.
Thanks Jason. My goal is always to take everyone with me on my hunts showing the good, bad, the huge pile of trash and the small pile of good stuff. Even if I don’t find much.. I still show it because it’s the reality of the hobby. I started making videos because every time I turned a video on I saw bucket loads of constant stellar finds with no trash. Seemed too make the expectations for folks within the hobby not obtainable which leads to disappointment. I’m not into seeding my sites or making stuff up so every move is shown as I discover as well as dig up trash. I can’t show all my diggin of trash because the videos would be 40 mins but I do show it all in the ending scrolling finds. Thanks for checking out what I’m doing on here and I’ll always keep things “real”.. educational and entertaining.
Hi Kenny this is Wayne , sent you some pics today. As far as the Equinox goes I've been testing it extensively. If you remember the Equinox had a major problem with US silver coins. I was the guy that found that issue and was contacted by Minelab. Check out Minelab Equinox BROKEN # 6. Since then Minelab issued an update and I thanked Mark at Minelab for the update.Everyone thought I was crazy. I talked to Minelab about the TID being so tight , meaning too many targets falling into the same TID #s for example a copper penny clad dime and silver dime. It's not an Etrac or CTX and my tests have proven that ! With that said it is an excellent trashy park machine with the 6 inch coil if you don't mind digging a lot of copper pennies because they ring up as silver way too often.
I have noticed that the TID's are really tight although I dig anything with a good response, repeats and in a TID range. I guess when I'm in town the tight scale does have me digging pennies when I might have though it was a silver dime but i'm cool with that. The White's machines I used were always VDI crazy and I had to dig everything that was 4 inches or lower and not pass it up because as the targets that were deeper, the VDI was father away from being true. Most of my sites the homes fell down 1901 or way before so anything that come in on the TID I dig because it's going to be old. The separation and the accurate TID is what I enjoy the most out of the Equinox with depth still to be determined through use as good or just regular. Someday I will comment on that but I still need field time. Thanks for checking the video out and for commenting. :) Good luck out there hunting.. great pics BTW... really sweeping up some good finds.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 Kenny , one of my favorite machines I have has a chose of 120 VDIs or 180 ! It's very fast very deep has great tones and can tell the difference between copper and silver that's what I'm after. Rutus Alter 71. The 71 stands for 71 frequencies , 4.5 to 18.4 but that's one frequency at a time. Check out my video Rutus pull tab KILLER. It also has a hologram. Great machine but I like to test all of them.
First let me say that your presentations are simply fantastic! Your videos just keep getting more professionally presented each time you post one. They have always been good, but now they are just so well done. I was hoping to see you pull out some deep, old coins. Maybe next time. Hope your feeling better. GL HH
Thanks Craig.. I always try to improve when I have time. The green screen takes up a lot of prep and editing time before I get to the site although it helps with saving time during the actual hunt. I like to change it up for everyone so it's not always the same thing. The biggest enemy I have in making these videos is time... sometimes it's hard staying up to 1 am editing after work on Monday and Tuesdays.. but it's worth it. :) I'll get better with the Equinox and soon be confident that I'm getting the depth I need to pick up the old stuff. Right now I know the machine is going deep but I haven't pulled many items past the 8 inch mark that are valuable... soda can's i can pick up in China though LOL.
Great video. Looks like a normal day detecting. Something there great something it good just being out detecting even if we don’t find much. Love what your doing keep them coming.
Thanks Brandon... trying to keep these videos going. I am hoping to get out this coming weekend for an all day hunt. Very true on " normal day of detecting"... you win some and lose some. I always try to show both so the expectations of the hobby aren't always the "wins". Thanks for checking the video out.
Another great video my friend, I recently purchased the Equinox and I really enjoy the way it feels when swinging. I hope they have future updates to allow the user a better understanding what’s in the ground. Take care
Thank you and glad you liked the video. I too like the way the machine feels... so light and balanced. I haven't heard of any updates to be released but it would be nice if there was a numerical depth gauge for targets.. I haven't got very skilled at guessing depth yet other than by using the modulation.
thanks for your video you and Brad from GMMD are two of the best no hype videos the nox seems like a great machine I don't have one yet I have others and my favorite is still my Deus at 2lbs you can hunt all day and it produces quite well thanks again
Great job Kenny on your video! I'm glad you went back to that property to see what you may have missed. And that beautiful Equinox showed its true colors! Great job man! And also, even though I use a foam pad, my knees still hurt.
Thank you... tried to stick it out as long as I could. My Detecting day for the week really means a lot and to cut it short wasn’t fun. That’s no fun with your knees hurting... hopefully using the foam helps with that. Thanks for checking the video out.
Thanks.. I was better by that evening but I'm done with the chemicals for this year. :) I have another farm to hunt that just got sprayed so I will need to give it time before entering. Thanks for tuning in. Take care.
I do my best with them as to not damage the yard. Once the ground starts to dry up for summer I move to the woods since yards and farm fields are off limits during the summer for me. Thanks for checking out the video.
Keeping it real. Like it. I hunted last weekend with the Nox for over 4 hours. I don't think I'm ready for the heat and humidity. Started to get a little shaky and packed it in. Not all hunts are 12-inch dimes. Keep at it. You do good work
Thank Bobby.. I show the good and the bad... not always a stellar day. The heat is starting to ramp up here as well... going to shut me down on any sensitive yards since the grass dies in the summer months. I'm trying to find some wooded sites to dig although Im not finding many.. might have to take a summer break or just slow down some until fall unless we have a wet summer.
Thank you. 🙂 I hope to be back out this weekend to do a full day hunt. I’m scrambling to get new permissions right now, outside of farm fields, but the search has been somewhat difficult. Trying to get some standing homes as well as “in town” sites. Thanks for checking out the video.
Glad you found my channel and are enjoying what I am doing on here. My videos are about portraying the total experience each time I go hunt.. it will include everything which also includes the bad and only coming home with junk. I like to keep things real.... Thanks for tuning in to check out my videos and glad to have ya along in the hunt.
Thank you... just wish I would have got to stay out there all day to see what else I could find. That big button was designed really well and interests me a lot... just wish I could find some information on it. Thank you for checking out the video and if you get out hunting soon let me know what you find. :) Take Care
Yes... doing much better now and thanks for your concern. Very glad that you enjoy the videos.. I'll always try to keep them entertaining and educational.
Lots and lots of buttons. I’d like to get into some coins but dang the detecting pressure over the years around this area has been intense. I hope to get into a place soon where there are quite a few coins left. Thanks for checking out the video.
Really enjoyed your video, waaay to save it at the end, glad your didn't get to sick. Subscribed and we will need to spend some time trying to watch the rest of your videos 😁
Thank you and very glad that you enjoyed the video. When I left during the hunt I figured I would just scrap the video and wait for the next hunt. My wife asked what I was going go to and encouraged me to just make the video "as-is" and get creative for the ending. So I did and am thankful she encouraged me to stick to it. Thank you for the subscription.. I always try to keep the video educational as well as entertaining. I also hold the "family friendly" bar high as well so all folks feel welcome. I recently just made the change to Minelab so as you go farther back in time you will see White's Electronics machines only. I had been using that brand for 23 years before the switch so I am currently getting adjusted to the change. Thanks for checking out my channel and for subscribing.. I don't monetize my channel but the music I use can slightly due to only having a partial license to use (sorry if that's annoying).
Thank you for the ID on the target. 🙂 very glad that you enjoy the videos... makes all efforts worth it knowing you and others are liking what I’m doing.
Thanks for video I know what you’re going through equinox can play some games sometimes but overall it’s a good machineI have the 15 inch coil still learning on it
Your welcome and it’s a pleasure to make these videos. I hope to get the 15” coil someday for my field hunts although that’s awhile off. Thanks for checking the video out.
Thanks. I actually found the vertical rod while out working (land surveying) on the side of the highway. It’s a hydrologic cylinder arm for a backhoe.. solid stainless and weighs about 200 pounds. Lol. Figured it would be good for Highway Flag use. I had a friend of mine use a electromagnetic drill press to drill a solid box steel piece to insert the cylinder arm into and weld it tight. Fits right into me receiver hitch. Flag is 100 mph wind rated... its for light houses. Kinda went overboard on the build but I can go down the interstate with no problem. Really enjoy it. I believe anyone who gets the equinox will enjoy it thoroughly.. it’s a fun machine. The 600 or the 800 are both excellent. Just call a dealer and get your price... online is crazy high.
Again.... the kind of video I like. VDI numbers, historical facts, and quality vid. You are top notch in this area. Too bad the chemicals in the air put a damper on the day for you. I've experienced the same here at an old L.A. park once where the lake water permeated the soil and putting off a terrible odor which led to a massive headache and knocked me out for the day. I hope you are feeling better today. Keep up the great vids my friend!!!!
Thanks Kurt.. glad you are enjoying what I add in my videos to portray the hunt. Trying to take everyone with me when I go detecting. Yes.. it wasn't a good situation with the chemicals but at least I was informed by one of the workers that came out for lunch what I was being exposed to. This weekend I'll be back out on a different site with no spray to hit it hard all day. Thanks for your concerns and for checking out the video. Take care.
Awesome that we both have the same machine. I have only had mine for about 2.5 months... I've used White's machine for the past 23 years so I'm going through some changes as well as learning the machine with every swing. Thanks for tuning in to check out the video.
Another great video. The thing at 5:03 looks like a telephone cable strain relief. It goes on the house to keep the telephone cable from pulling off of the house. The non-silver trime you were talking about is probably a nickel three cent piece. They were made from 1865 to 1889.
Thank you Jimmy.. did my best with this video. That's right about that item.. I can picture what your describing on the phone line and I bet that's what it is. Yes.. one other person had mentioned that about the trime, mine came out of the ground bright red like nickles do sometimes. That was my first three cent coin find so it's in my "great finds" box at the house. Thanks for checking out the video and take care.
Ha! yes... I had looked that up after folks on here were laughing at me that I didn't know. It was news to me and it's cool to learn about all periods of time with each hole I dig. Glad folks like you are on here commenting on info and ID's so not only I but others that read these comments can learn. Thanks for checking the video out.
Thank you for the ID on the target.. helps both I and others out figuring out what all these things are we find out detecting. Glad you like that ending bit... gives me a chance to show everything I pulled up for the day. I can't show every piece of trash because the videos would be 40 mins long. LOL. Thanks for checking out the video as a well as commenting.
I prefer the 50 tones I believe due to coming from the V3i... just works for me. I know some folks prefer the 5 tones but eventually I will have the tone scale down by ear and not have to check the screen out. Thanks for checking the video out.
I also own the v3i and the equinox 800. I used the v3i exclusively for 1 year and found a lot of good stuff. I also found a lot of good stuff with the equinox. In my opinion the MXT does better. The 10 x 5 detech coil for the MXT is wonderful.
Good to know. I haven’t owned an MXT before although the interest is there. I know it’s a very proven machine Whites has rode on for many years. it’s always good to have a couple machines to run on sites to open up options as well as utilize different technologies. Thanks for checking out the video as well as commenting.
Thank you. I try my best with these and implement the green screen from time to time to change things up. Thanks for tuning in got check out the video.
You're right no place is ever hunted out I've been hunting one property since 2016 and everytime I go I still find stuff and I hunt with just a Garrett 250 imagine if I had an equinox your video is still good it's good that you're still fine and stuff have a great day
There is always something left... even if land owners tell you your wasting your time... go anyway. 🙂 I’ve nit used a Garrett 250 but I’ve hunted by one this year as well as know many other folks that use them. Equinox is a good machine but as long as you know your machine... that’s any machine... you will be successful. I started on a very basic machine a long time ago and I found tons of stuff with it. Just wish I never sold it. Thanks for checking out the video.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 this weekend I'm supposed to go to property the man has a hundred eighty Acres George Washington stay there for 3 weeks and the former owners have been hitting it since he's on it they've been coming back for a few weeks so it must still be a lot of stuff there
Another great video! I was amazed you film with your phone. Excellent quality. It does seem like the 10" dd coil separates very well. The nox is so fast! Everyone is spraying and trying to get the crops planted because they are almost out of time. Stay safe.
Thanks Travis... yes all filming is with an old iphone7 but many things are being applied to get the quality. Someday when I find a nice gold ring to trade in for cash I will get a new iphone for better filming results. LOL.. things are so expensive. Very true on the farming activities.. I'm wishing for rain so I can get more time to hunt the fields before being planted. :) Thanks for checking out the video .
Thanks bartley... I'm good to go now. They were spraying over the ridge from me and I didn't see them out there. When one of the guys came out for lunch he told me I was right in the path which made me realize what was going on and I left for the house. I'll be back out this weekend on a site where the spraying is over with... going to hit it hard all day for a full hunt. Thanks for checking the video out.
some good points there at the end. Equinox will find few more things, but not always a lot. It depends on many variables.Good video! ATB and happy hunting. Sebastian
Thanks... the thing about finding stuff is... there needs to be stuff there to find. LOL I guess with all the folks saying I can't use a V3i this proves I can clean a site dry with a V3i even if they believe I can't use one. :) Either way.. it's all fun to me and like you say, there are a ton of variables. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
Starting to warm up... I usually use a bracket which holds a flat sun shield to block the suns heat on the phone while in use recording. Didn’t think I needed it this early in the year. Thank you for checking the video out.
Thank you and I greatly appreciate that. I truly try my best to keep things entertaining as well as educational. Indiana would be cool.. just email me and I can head your way or you can come here.. work something out. Email (added spaces for concealment from robots) square nail squirrel AT gmail Thanks for checking the video out and take care.
Hey squirrel nice button finds! I hope your doing alrite from the chemicals. Always enjoy watching your vids they're the best. Feel like I'm right there with you. Finally made it out to the old homesite found a few wheats with the oldest a 1910. May go back again sometime and try to get the silver I couldn't find lol. HH
Thanks Jammy... great to see your out digging as well and finding some old coins. I always think about all the silver coins I have missed over the years due to being masked out... I really don't want to know though. LOL... If you get time try to make it back out there to see what else can be discovered. Thanks for checking the video out.
I sew it from the same material I made Aquachiggers dig bag from... it's brown 1000 Cordura.. the same thing Carhartt coveralls are made out of. If you want one.. email me and I'll make you one and send it. Square nail squirrel at Gmail (no spaces)
Great video. Sorry about the "mist", hope you are ok. Just got an 800 Saturday and no chance to use it. I will be watching to see how you set the machine up for hunts. BTW. I am sure the Chigg appreciates the the promo. LOL
Thank you.. glad you enjoyed the video. That’s awesome you acquired an equinox... it’s a great machine. Hopefully you can get a window of time to be able to get out with it and start getting a feel for its operation. My two cents after other folks told me the same... just be ready for the noise. Lol. It’s going to be making a racket compared to whichever machine you currently use. Once you get used to all the noise you will find that it’s very helpful knowing everything that’s going on under the coil... I have found it very effective. Also... change it with only a 2 amp USB wall adapter. Anything higher or lower isn’t good for the machine. I bought my adapter on Amazon and it’s made by Samsung for 4.00 shipped. Thanks for checking the video out. 🙂
I have The 800 and the Deus. On land I like the Deus I'm turning the Deus Into a water machine this summer to compare for my self. Stay off those fields for a while . when are we going to see some CGI. Thanks for sharing
Two very nice machines... I know one other person on here that runs those in tandem as well. Water hunting looks like a lot of fun although I have only waded in some creeks very few times detecting. I checked what CGI meant... if it's computer generated imagery then... LOL.. it's gonna be bit. :) Thanks for checking out the video.
The targets you dug up were all solid metal targets that the whites machines should not have left behind. On the first hole you dig, you got a beep with a solid metal targets that was buried under 3 rusty nails. Whites cannot do that. When your cleaning up a yard like that, you will be pulling out several rusty nails in the hole with the target. That's what makes the equinox shine. Just from the short video you showed, I know for a fact that there is still a few more goodies to be dug up close to that house. If I lived in your area, I would even bet you money that I could go there and dig up a few more old coins. But my bag would be full of rusty nails and large pieces of iron too. Good job on the button and props for trying to fight through the chemical attack while trying to make a video in the heat.
@S A thoughts Hi S A thoughts. If I had the equipment and the time to make the TH-cam videos, then I would do it. But when I'm hunting I don't have time to play with a camera. I'm digging all the targets I can find to remove as many targets as possible in beach mode 2 before I switch to gold mode 2 which is basically sift mode. I dig it all up. I pull out several nails in my coin holes regularly. The machine itself is strong enough to ignore the nails but I'm usually lazy and just use a pinpointer to try to find the target. This is were I burn time when digging holes. If I would just stand up and use the pinpoint on the machine it would be much faster. But it's always interesting to see how many rusty nails are actually in the holes with the target. The equinox 800 does have customization over settings that make it optimised for use. The settings I use I did not create and the person that introduced me to the equinox 800 asked me not to share them. After using the settings I got him hooked on beach mode 2. For whatever reason unknown to us this is the best mode for hunting 200+ year old homes. After that I go straight into gold mode 2 and clean the place out of any metal targets with alloys that coins are made out of. When I get done beating a yard down, I never leave the place wondering if I left something good . I know it's finished, it will probably take a few more years of new technology put into a machine just to get a few more inches of depth to find more targets in yards I have sifted with the 800.
@S A thoughts Hi there! I used the DFX from 2005 thru 2012 and found a ton of stuff with it...it became an extension of me. It is DFX a great machine - very good at picking up small, deep signals. In 3012, I bought v3i but it never "felt" it worked as well or better. I wasn't able to focus on all bells and whistles until last year and found a lot of stuff after that. I also have BHID, waterproof DFX tech. My beach experience last year was frustrating with black sand and competing with nox & 3030. I bought a nox for beach and to try on land. There's something about the nox that reminds me of DFX. In comparison the v3i response seems "muddy" but I can find nickels all day with v3i. I always thought it was noteworthy that Monte (I learned a lot from him on DFX forums back in the day) didn't like v3i, sold it and went back to a different, slightly older machine...MXT I think. Bottom line, I agree that DFX is better in many ways compared to v3i although both are good machines. I still have both plus the nox but currently having fun with nox since I've only used whites machines for 35+ yrs. Thanks for the detailed explanation about how you use the DFX...I might fire it up one day. DFX, nox, v3i are all excellent detectors - they aren't toys although the improved separation & other newer tech does make it stand out a bit compared to older whites. IMHO, with higher end detectors across the board, the most important thing is the user - learning the machine, trusting what it tells you, etc, is what makes an one machine a treasure finder and another machine a bust. I salute you sir for the depth of knowledge & experience you have with dfx. HH & be safe
@S A thoughts I have the original BHID. Bought it not too long after DFX and still have it. Used at least once a year since 2005 and usually came home with at least one piece gold or silver. Hate the manual ground balance - got close enough and detected. Didn't go as deep as my friends ML Excal, but for my purposes it was good enough and light. I always ran it all metal and loved the LED lights which were handy on beach at night. I thought it did poorly in salt water (falsing) and the amount of black sand I encountered last September too difficult for the machine to be effective as you noted. That caused me to consider/buy the nox. Many in my club use it and i did my research on other machines. The other option was beach Hunter TDI but decided I wanted one of the new fangled waterproof land & sea dectors. After using BHID for a week and experienced with DFX, I asked Fred Krupowitz (sp?) Whites regional manager in Long Island NY and part of BHID test team, why there was no depth indicator. He laughed and said since on beach not necessary. Have to laugh cuz look at what we're using today...waterproof land machines with depth s d all bells and whistles and pinpointers! I'm also not a fan of compressed vdi on nox, but I was willing to live with trade off. None of these machines are perfect and it comes down to personal preference and what is most fun for you...IMHO Have you checked out Squirrels older videos? He has quite a few with V3i and sport. Thx for additional BHID info (I was never impressed with BHID 300 either 😉) Cheers!
I was wondering why you titled the video "Metal Detecting in the Mist" on what appeared to be a sunny day. Now I know! Glad you're alright after that and great video as always.
That was the best title I could come up with for this video. LOL... I seriously though about just trashing the video and waiting for the next hunt but things happen when out detecting and this is one of the things that can. Just keeping it "real life" on here. Thank you for checking out the video... take care.
A square nail squirrel I know what it's like digging in Ohio I'm 55 years old I've been here my whole life I've been digging for a few years now you got to take the good with the bad even when the permission looks hotter than a frying pan like your show keep them coming I'm in Northeast Ohio wouldn't mind hooking up with you sometime I am sporting the Garrett A T Max I have the stock coil of course and the storm coil looking to purchase the five by 8 for trashy areas thanks again for a good show
Can't help but think the phone overheating.... was someone watching out for you...to create maybe an issue to cause you to leave sooner than normal... Glad you're ok!
That's just how I've done in the past! Detected places others supposedly had detected! Owners said not worth the time. I found a lot with the etrac ! Then went back with my new equnox 800 and found more amazing things! Then as I got better at the machine I found even more amazing finds with the standard 11 inch and with the big 13 inch I think it is. Low to mid tones are so fun for me along with deep deep silver. Hh
Thank you... glad you enjoyed it. Wow... that's awesome you found one of those... that's really getting back in the years with that find. :) Thanks for checking the vidoe out.
I'm from Grant county and lived there 35 of my 39 years.. We have a house in northern KY just out of Cincinnati, OH and the farm is still in Grant County. About 1hr and 10 mins east of you.. I only know that because of the farm machinery show and gun shows I frequent at the KY exposition center. I have a few places around my home town but not anything out your way.. we could work something out if you wanted to get together.. just email me. Email (spaces added for concealment from robots) square nail squirrel AT gmail Thanks for checking out the video.
Nice video either way man too bad about the headache get some good fresh air it'll pass I saw the silos just out of curiousity how much silage you figure goes in those?? I know I know a years worth lol!!
Thank you and glad you liked the video. I'm not sure about the silo but those two are enormous. Back home we had silage towers that look quite different and were 15 cubic yards... where the ones in the video would be much more that that. Lol on the years worth.. I have heard that many times as well. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.
There's a safety message for all detectorists there buddy, be careful of whats been put on the ground and whats around you. Some nasty old stuff going on fields these days. Glad your ok. ATB MMMD
Very true... I couldn't see the tractors over the ridge by the log cabin and only found out when one of the guys helping came out to get lunch and notified me. I then figured out why I felt so bad... doing fine now so good to go for the next hunt. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.
Oh wow!! Thanks... I figured it was something more than a washer with a square hole. When I cleaned it up I saw there was some designs on it but couldn't make anything out. I will get online and check them out to better understand what I have. Thank you again for commenting as well as checking the video out.
Thank you. :) I am about one hour south of Cleveland... waaaaay up north compared to where I am originally from and still call home back in KY. Thanks for your concern and all is well here...take care.
Those were some cool finds considering you and others have truly pounded that site. It sucks you got exposed to that nasty chemical. The acute health effects you experienced are concerning. Who would have expected that to happen??? GL&HH!
Thanks... that big button really intrigues me for some reason being the engraved name is so different. I might try this site again or just move on to new ones... I'm running low on standing structure sites so I need to go out and get some more permissions. Thanks for checking the video out.
Hey that's why it's called "hunting" not "finding" LOL,still great quality video Brother, the first thing was a old shaving razor dispenser &the Lipton foil was from when Lipton soup was made, just trying to help you identify mystery items HH buddy
Exactly... kinda goes side by side with fishing and catching. Lol. Thanks for the ID’s helps not only me but others learn about possible targets. Thanks for checking the video out.
Try the new Neil Jones program(on fb) using beach mode. See how that works for you. I don't like the 50 tones I prefer the 5 because my ears are accustomed to it. Thanks for sharing. Until next time HH&GL *Chris*
I'm not on FB much although I will give it a try finding the program. I did order a book off Amazon last night called Minelab performance wrote by Any Sabisch, some folks have been suggesting that I check it out. Coming from White's I typically ran with a lot of tones.. just normal for me although I do like running in 5 tones. I will find my cadence with the machine as time goes. Thanks for checking out the video and for the suggestion on programs. :)
Thank goodness you left when you did. Much more exposure and it could've been a desperate situation. Just curious as to why you don't use a go-pro like so many other TH-camr's do? Less worry about it overheating, I would suspect 👍 Those old buttons are really cool finds BTW I'm a new subscriber w/ notifications now 😊 Good video. Stay well and happy hunting!
What do you think of trying to use some XP machines in near future - Deus or ORX ? Actually, minelabs is too .... complicated and has alot of unnecessary stuff inside) Coolest minelab was Xterra 705 ) coolest and best )
I would like to try a Deus but the funds just aren’t there. Currently I spend a lot of money on software subscriptions and internet upload speed upgrades to do these videos and I try to balance what I’m spending on the hobby. I haven’t been around the ORX brand before or heard much on them other than what I see on Instagram. I do the “trade hobby stuff for hobby stuff” method where once I sell off either one or both of my Whites machines I can use that money to get a new machine. Possibly at that point I can make the move to get a Deus or ORX then.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 thanx alot for such a detailed answer !! You know, i am start here in Russia many years ago with USA detector ))) Tesoro Silver and after - Tesoro Cibola ) Do you know any USA diggers use Tesoros ? I read that brand is "old good" in USA )) not like levis, but around ) So i am choose tesoros and use them for 7 years for searching. Now i move to the bulgarian Golden Mask detector ) Almost same as Tesoros (with knobs) but more powerful and has a multitones.
Thank you for the ID.. helps out with figuring out what all the things we find out detecting are.. :) Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.
Take care.
Always damn good videos. Quickly becoming a favorite!
The oblong square item with the extended key tab @ 5:04 is a Schick disposable razor dispenser .
I thought about it while driving over the weekend and through my use of both Whites machines on this site made it very quiet for the Equinox. Take care.
Thanks for the video, always enjoy what you have to offer.
Your welcome and glad you enjoyed it. I hope to get back out there in the coming weeks.
Thanks for showing good yard recovery technique.
Thanks again for educating us on your settings.
Your welcome... trying my best to show what I'm doing while out hunting. Thank you for checking the video out. :)
Really enjoyed seeing all the relics! Glad you're OK. That's something we all need to be aware of, so thanks for sharing it.
Glad that you enjoyed it.. it was a short hunt due to being cut short on the day but still did "ok". I really like that big button :) Yes, it's good everyone knows about this new technique farmers are using called "dirty farming"... lots of chemicals used. Thanks for checking out the video.
Your videos are great. Super clear and HQ. Enjoyed this one.
Could not agree more ... well said ... and well deserved!
Wow... thank you for very much for the kind comments.
I keep checking to see if you added anything new
Enjoyed watching.
Cool video! I really enjoy the camera angles and set up. I love seeing what you’re seeing on the VDI. It’s almost like I’m there with you. Thanks.
You had another great video, no worries! Metal detecting is very unpredictable and beyond our control.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it. I hope to be back out soon. Good luck with any detecting you have coming up.
Glad you are ok. Excellent video.
Yes.. doing good now and ready for the next hunt. Thanks for checking out the video and I hope your out detecting as well.. take care.
Glad your ok from those fumes from the chemicals. Good video.
Thanks.. I was better by that evening but I'm done with the chemicals for this year. :) I have another farm to hunt that just got sprayed so I will need to give it time before entering. Thanks for tuning in. Take care.
Wow so neat with his plugs. Yard should still look nice when he’s done
I do my best with them as to not damage the yard. Once the ground starts to dry up for summer I move to the woods since yards and farm fields are off limits during the summer for me. Thanks for checking out the video.
G
Good video will be watching more. Thanks
Always enjoy your videos. Awesome places and, hunts and finds !! GL&HH
Thank you. 🙂 I hope to be back out this weekend to do a full day hunt. I’m scrambling to get new permissions right now, outside of farm fields, but the search has been somewhat difficult. Trying to get some standing homes as well as “in town” sites. Thanks for checking out the video.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 Good luck on the permissions, I have never ask anyone yet, but going to have to start, running out of places to hunt ! :-)
I recently discovered your videos. I greatly enjoy them!
Enjoyed the outing. I love doing the research to find those old places as much as detecting them. Thanks for flying our flag.
Awesome video as always with cool finds! 😍👍 Love the buttons and the porcelain piece! 😍👍👍👍
Thank you... just wish I would have got to stay out there all day to see what else I could find. That big button was designed really well and interests me a lot... just wish I could find some information on it. Thank you for checking out the video and if you get out hunting soon let me know what you find. :) Take Care
Glad your ok. I always enjoy your videos
Yes... doing much better now and thanks for your concern. Very glad that you enjoy the videos.. I'll always try to keep them entertaining and educational.
Still killing the buttons this year, those chemicals are no good definitely made the right move by getting out of there! Great video Kenny.
The first find is a injector razor blade case. I very much enjoy your videos.
Beautiful bumper piece you have there God bless the USA 👍🏻you have convinced me I am getting a 800 asap
Me too
Thanks. The flag is a lot of fun and if you get the equinox... it’s even more fun. 🙂 thanks for checking out the video.
Again.... the kind of video I like.
Take care.
Great video, hope your feeling better bro!
Thank you... Yes.. feeling better but man the headache I had that day was intense. Thanks for checking the video out.
Just got the nox love it never played with the adjustments like you did
Awesome that we both have the same machine.
5:38 The Lipton package is soup mix, probably from the 1950's. They make more than just tea (tee hee)!
Ha! yes... I had looked that up after folks on here were laughing at me that I didn't know. It was news to me and it's cool to learn about all periods of time with each hole I dig. Glad folks like you are on here commenting on info and ID's so not only I but others that read these comments can learn. Thanks for checking the video out.
Great hunt man!! Happy Hunting.
Thanks Josh and glad you like the video. Happy hunting to you and hope that you are out detecting this weekend.
that was a single-edge razor blade pack, with injector. Hey, stay outta that chemical !
I always like your segment with the finds...! Take care!
I agree. My first thought when I saw it.
I think 50 tones is a must on those sites still learning them on the nox cheers from oz
Great video, totally enjoyed it. Very well done. 👍👍
Thank you. I try my best with these and implement the green screen from time to time to change things up. Thanks for tuning in got check out the video.
The square box with a tab looks like a razor blade dispenser for an injector blade Schick razor
I liked video. Good luck brothers
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for checking it out. :)
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 this weekend I'm supposed to go to property the man has a hundred eighty Acres George Washington stay there for 3 weeks and the former owners have been hitting it since he's on it they've been coming back for a few weeks so it must still be a lot of stuff there
Square nail do you have stickers if you do I would like to have one for my car window
I hope that you're health won't be jeopardized in any way from the weed killer. Great video .
Nice hunt understand about the phone i went yesterday and I about over heated hh.
Starting to warm up... I usually use a bracket which holds a flat sun shield to block the suns heat on the phone while in use recording. Didn’t think I needed it this early in the year. Thank you for checking the video out.
Nice video and great presentation. You do a very nice job on your videos. I’m in Indiana maybe we can go detecting some day. Keep up the great work 👍
Thank you and I greatly appreciate that. I truly try my best to keep things entertaining as well as educational. Indiana would be cool.. just email me and I can head your way or you can come here.. work something out. Email (added spaces for concealment from robots) square nail squirrel AT gmail

Lipton makes soup too. lol
It was news to me.... :)
Thanks for your efforts
Where did you get the pad you use to place your plugs and dirt on? It looks heavier and more sturdy than a normal towel.
@S A thoughts Hi there!
None of these machines are perfect and it comes down to personal preference and what is most fun for you...IMHO
Have you checked out Squirrels older videos? He has quite a few with V3i and sport.
Thx for additional BHID info (I was never impressed with BHID 300 either 😉)
Cheers!
Good honest video, good job
Thanks Sam.. glad that you enjoyed the video. I'll be back out this coming weekend for a full day's hunt. Take care.

Great video mate. GL & HH from merry old England ✌️
Hh
Great video dug a Virginia seal button
Thank you... glad you enjoyed it. Wow... that's awesome you found one of those... that's really getting back in the years with that find. :) Thanks for checking the vidoe out.
Where in Ky? I’m up in Louisville, and also hunt with the Nox. Someday we can get together to hunt. GL and HH, ATB.
Lipton makes or made soup
Thanks... I found that out through making this video and folks like you commenting. I wasn't aware.. I though it was noodles and tea. LOL
The small token with the square hole is from a 1900's American Mahjong board game. also known as "scoring coins"
Oh wow!! Thanks... I figured it was something more than a washer with a square hole. When I cleaned it up I saw there was some designs on it but couldn't make anything out. I will get online and check them out to better understand what I have. Thank you again for commenting as well as checking the video out.
What do you mean about cracks and pops on targets? please explain
Lipton Noodle soup packet
Another well produced video. I don't know where you are in Ohio but I hope your are safe and have power.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 Time to move on my friend!

What brand of gloves are you wearing?
Where was the mist?
WMD it was the chemicals the farmers were spraying, it wasnt necessarily a 'visible' mist...
Ok thanks Erik, i must’ve mist it. 😉
Great
Thanks Charles. Glad you liked the video. 🙂
The second target was a razor dispenser
Thanks for the ID on the target. Helps both I and others out learning about possible targets we may find when out detecting.
Thank goodness you left when you did. Much more exposure and it could've been a desperate situation.
Just curious as to why you don't use a go-pro like so many other TH-camr's do? Less worry about it overheating, I would suspect 👍
Those old buttons are really cool finds BTW
I'm a new subscriber w/ notifications now 😊
Good video.
